  1. I believe the wier product in question is a bellhousing to mate a t-56 to the old pre 87 sbc.
  2. You can pick them at auto stores, I usually seem mounted just before the fuel rail/carb. All u need is the proper fittings. I don't know if you need a special guage to deal with the fuel fact. I wouldn't think so.
  3. man for under 400 bucks I hope it works, it would solve the whole lsd/cv conversion trick for those who can like r200 ratios and u-joints. Lets keep tracking down someone using this.
  4. I am a huge borla fan, I have a borla system on one of my cars and I love it, they last a lifetime (t-304 stainless), mine is nice a semi quiet at normal rpms but from 4 - 7k its growls. I will always buy their products when I can afford it. NEVER buy from borla directly tho their site is very expensive.
  5. I had a set of those in my mx-6 I had posted some pics in a thread about custom interiors a while back, they can a PAIN to put in..
  6. Its already been checked, I don't think it will clear the strut towers. At least I think I remember a post stating with measurements stating that anyhows.
  7. When the temperature goes down you want a lighter oil, not a heavier one, lighter oils have better viscosity when cold. I would NOT run 15w oil in cold temps (I live in canada so cold to me is 0 to -35 celcius). If you are in subzero temps running a heavy oil like that is not helping your cold start protection. Your temps don't seem that cold to me but its not all that warm. I would save that oil for the summer and hit a 5w-30 or 10w-30. I would think that it could very well be the oil affecting your idle, IMHO.
  8. I got this call at work, User: Hello, I don't need technical assistance I just want to know if I have a microphone. Me: Do you see a microphone...? User: No. Me: Thank you, come again. Click.
  9. Just to put in some input lets make sure we get sound, car videos without exhaust noise always feel like something is missing, members here have great cars and lots of knowledge lets make the video right, I will be willing to put up some webspace for the project or possible setup ftp services or something so people can just upload their clips.
  10. Anybody of a link for the first "old school imports"? I played with the file name from that url and couldn't pick it up that way.
  11. Anybody of a link for the first "old school imports"? I played with the file name from that url and couldn't pick it up that way.
  12. I put a "www." on the front of whats there and pasted into my media player and it came in. Here... http:// www.s94307603.onlinehome.us/OldSchool2imports.wmv
  13. Later 4.0's had aluminum heads i believe, the blocks are all cast tho, there are turbo kits for them and the bottom end is pretty tough but its not exactly the best canidate, although you could probably pick one up for about pennies on the dollar.
  14. You will find by the end of school that all your "old" buddies will for the most part be gone and you will have an entire new crowd. Don't worry about it, everyone goes through this, and besides there are other roomates out there! I found school to be all highs and lows, just find guys to hang out with that you can have fun with.
  15. Well done, I would be damn proud of those if I had made them!
  16. I am sure that took lots of know-how to make but I would not cross the street to own that car, its pretty ugly! That said somebody out will probably buy it.
  17. I still have my old 89 cherokee 4.0. The this is 15 years old and it still starts right up in -30 celcius and still pulls hard. I have done a good bit of maintance on it over the year as motors go there are pretty easy to work on too. You would difinetely need a sportier cam tho and I am not sure of their rev cababilities. (My jeep has no tach and now that I think about it I am curious as to its redline?).
  18. r 180 is visibly smaller than the r200 and has (5?) bolts around where the halfshafts go in, one of the two as a rounded diff cover too, i think the r200 has a more square one, but i forget which is which.
  19. Would like to help you out but I think you need to explain the situaiton a bit more, a pic perhaps?
  20. Cable would not be an improvement in my opinion, It's not that bad plumbing it up, stick hydrolic
  21. One of my buddies is a mail carrier (Canadian however). He starts his day at about 5:60 or 6 and is on the golf the coarse by 11am, not bad and he makes a decent living, I don't have any real idea what he pulls in. He is in good shape tho!
  22. If I was getting free cable service I think I would have kept it on the down low.... he should possible invest in a gym membership for his family with all the money he saved.
  23. I believe its an infinity sedan.
  24. I love high reving engines, my current car has a 2.5 liter v6 that reds at 8k and is a complete dog below 4k, that said there are a few things to consider here besides engine mechanics I totally repect your statements about not having to beat other cars and wanting a 302 or similar engine because its characteristics appeal to you, they appeal to me as well. I am not a fan of big blocks, muscle cars or anything other large cars. The idea of 400 hp in a 4000 pound car is rediculous when a 200hp engine in a 2000 pound gives the same performance with typically better handling and braking and better mileage. There are other aspects not being considered in this discussion tho. If this is purely a street machine you do not want a high reving engine. There are reasons for this, none of which will make sense till you have been through it. -a small block screaming at 7k will piss of neighbours, people sleeping, and attract police like its nobodies business. -being that you can build a higher displacement engine for the same weight and typically cheaper logistically it's a poor value per dollar and per pound to go with a smaller displacement -street driven to me = light to light = low end power, you doing to need lots of cam for that high reving engine which will kill your lower end. -big cam = poor idle = poor street engine -low end grunt relieves downshifting around town. That said I love the fact that my engine is happy cruising along the highway at 4-5k and the sound downshifting at 7k on narrow streets never gets old. Unfortunately after being pulled over more times than I can remember, being afriad to rev it up late at night for fear of attracting attention and the lack of power below 3000 rpm gets old quick in a street machine. For those wondernig I have a stock muffler but with other modifications my car is very loud at high revs. I don't think people are trying to knock your idea its just that most will problably agree that once is all said and done you will probably be happier with a larger displacement engine. An as close to stock engine that will meet your performance goals is always a good idea in a street car IMHO. Wow, I typed alot!
