  5. Sorry about that, it was the gm ones i was talking about. Will the world class trannies or the regular ones hold up to say 450 lbs and 500 horses out of a 377 small block.
  6. Im pretty sure there are two different t5 trannies. I was wondering what the two different trannies came out of and which one was able to handle more power. James B.

  12. Ok i need a little help here? I have already done a search and didnt really find anything on what i am looking for. Im looking into buying a 76 280z that has been sitting for about 3 years. I went to look at it for the first time today and the battery in it was dead so i couldnt start it. (the guy told me that he had drove it 5 months ago just to make sure it still ran) It has the original fuel injected 6 cylinder with a 4 speed and everything visibly looks to be in pretty good shape. The car originally came from texas and some guy owned it that was int he military. He had taken all the smog stuff off of it which i dont even know what it had. There is a header on it now and it is a straight through exhaust with a single muffler, no cataletic converter. THere is no smog pump on it ( I dont know if it had one or not). I live in California and i not really up to date on smog laws and stuff. I know that 75 are now exempt. And im hoping by next year they will drop 76 off also. My question is, what am i going ot have to do to get it to smog? I know im gonna have to put a cat on it. Is it going to need a smog pump or air pump? Any info will help! James B.
  13. When i first put my first z together it had a, ummm i guessing maybe a little over 300 horse small block. The first thing i did was take it up to a 100 from a rolling start with the open headers. You counldnt have wiped the smile off my face. Congrats man! James B.
  14. take the bowls off and there will probably be dirt in them. take the needle and seat out and blow it out. And it is running rich because of the xtra fuel being dumped in it. Clean that out and if it doesnt help than you probably have to much fuel pressure depending on if your running a electric pump or not.
  15. I was wondering why with the open diffs some of the z's hook up so well, is it because of weight distribution or what. Cause last year i helped a buddy build a 73z with a 406 and a 150 shot of nitrous. It had the hardest shifting manual valve body turbo 350 i had ever felt. We ran it with et streets and i never saw it spin one tire more than the other and it was open. I also thought we would have broke it first time around the block but that thing wont give up and we have hammered on it hard. What is the limit on the original diffs suspose to be cause im pretty sure with the nitrous were making somewhere around 500ft lb maybe more. Just Wondering?
  16. The majority of the time those blocks are 350s i would highly doubt that i would be a 302
  17. For all the info that you have given 180 rwp seems a little strange it should be making at least 250
  18. Its vacume, plug all the vac. lines and it should idle. Dont forget the big vacume underneath the carb, everybody usually forgets that one when you first start one up.
  19. you could always take a center punch and ping the top of the nut.
  20. Also if your running a zz4 motor they are pretty thirsty. I dont think a 670 is big enough to feed it. It sounds like your running it lean to me. Try timing like other people said and if that doesnt help than try jetting it up a little, you might need to put a 750 or so on it. James B.
  21. is the pump in the tank or is it outside. Sounds like you need to run 12 volts to the pump and make sure it is running consistantly.
