  1. About two years ago I asked the same question and somebody got me too! I just couldn't resist...sharing the hybridz love.
  2. It's a new product by Lincoln Enterprises. Combines the best features of a helical, viscous, clutch and pneumatic LSDs while avoiding many of their individual negative characteristics. Compared to clutch type-no clutches to wear out; viscous-lighter and uses no special lubricants; helical-no spin of the inside wheel when unloaded. Only drawback is the price, but I have one that I will sell you at a bargain of $2697 plus shipping. Core required prior to delivery of new unit. Internal tolerances are very tight, requiring heating for final assembly. Special tools are required for removal of spider gears.
  3. None of the "ram air/cold air" effects that you fellas are talking about will show up at the dyno unless you have an 8' wide 150mph fan - gonna have to go to the track to test that. That would take a pretty big time commitment. And you couldn't test hp directly-just ETs (lots of confounding variables). Would cowl induction kill your aero plan? That provides increased air pressure as cold air piles up at the base of the windshield but has unlimited flow (zero restriction), plus you can keep your best air cleaner base as proven by the dyno?
  4. I guess what I was trying to get at was: what was different in your setup that made you break? You are kind of my idol for doing more than anyone else with a R200. Do you think it was a setup change that caused it or just power and repetitions? I have modeled your suspension limits from your suggestions and stayed with bias ply, but I hope to go from 435 tq to over 600 next year. Attentively watching your every move.
  5. I THINK the offsets available for the RBRs are kind of bad for an unflared z. And I think they waste a lot of room inboard due to having negative offset. I'm gonna be buying the 17" Rota grid this winter-I don't really like the looks but I feel better about the offsets available.
  6. I think SunnyZ got his last set thru The Driveshaft Shop. Was that the first time on drag radials? What torque do you think you were making at that rpm/boost level. Sorry you broke- bad feeling. Love your axle restraint system.
  7. Looks great! You should advertise that rear disc conversion!
  8. Could that scary poster behind your car be one of the "gremlins" you have been fighting? Glad you have that behind you!
  9. It may depend on how accurate the stated measurement is. I have 16x8+10 RBR with coilovers and the fit is great with 225/50/16 street tires. For me, the rears are the closest to the spring seat. With Hoosiers, which have a very thick sidewall, 245/45/16s have less than a millimeter clearance to the spring seat in back, and I have been considering buying some +4 offset RBRs just for the back. I think you need to be prepared for spacers if you buy those pretty wheels. If you decide to go for it, just be knowledgeable about the return policy.
  10. Relocate your tee fitting to underneath the coil cover? BTW- I never considered venting the steam vents to the heater lines-good thinking! Did you tee into the heater supply line or the return line?
  11. Could you be more specific about the Porsche calipers? Front/rears? Got a link that reviews what you are referring to? I wanna get smart on that.
  12. Wfritts, good to see you back! I see everybody trying to make a subframe for the diff that tries to re-use the stock mounting hardware. Since you guys can weld, could you not make a strong bracket system that is welded to the bottom of the floorpan and distributes the loads better. This stuff really doesnt need to be bolt-on - I believe that ship sailed back when we cut out our stock tranny mounts out. No turning back.
  13. Life is great in Alabama: no smog check, no safety check. I've been following Fauxre's agony trying to get a modified car on the road in California-seems like agony. I drove around on drag slicks for two weeks and no muffler for a year and nobody even raised an eyebrow. I would love a parking brake, but I'm sure as heck not pulling my tranny to get it done. Hoping you guys find an easy solution. Im gonna order the parking brake-ready calioer brackets either way.
  14. I don't see Bikini Wax Consultant on the list....
  15. Oh, this looks like no fun at all. I may say f-it and keep a chalk block in the car...
  16. 2" of travel! How you gonna get that? I will ask him not to paint mine.
  17. "Just some good ole boys. Never meanin' no harm. Beats all you ever saw, Been in trouble with the law Since the day they was born." Have fun with those old cars. That's all that matters.
  18. Yes please. I plan to order the whole kit in the next few months. Lots of pics! I like my calipers black-red, painted stock calipers have so become the tuner rage that I want to separate myself from the "in crowd."
  19. Holy crap! That thing sounds wicked. What is the compression on that beast?
  20. Oh yeah-no bumper- it was too rusty-pitched it years ago. I tried jumping in trunk but I keep hitting my head on the hatch!
