  1. They are very strong, not sure what torque rating. Jeg's show 5 different Richmond 6 speeds, the one close to the T-56 gears, have these - 2.77, 1.88, 1.46, 1.18, 1.00, 0.62. The final ratio isn't as good as the T-56, plus this tranny costs $3029.99. You can get a T-56 from $1200 - $1800. Also the Richmond uses external shift rods which will be a problem in a Z tunnel. ------------------ http://members.tripod.com/~SnowSurfer/mikekz1.html
  2. I have a Taurus fan attached to Camaro rad. Check "page 6" on my site. ------------------ http://members.tripod.com/~SnowSurfer/mikekz1.html [This message has been edited by Mike kZ (edited February 19, 2001).]
  3. Welcome Lloyd, sounds like you've got a good start! So you want to totally restore the car, then do the engine swap all by the end of summer? Good luck, you have about 7 months to do all that. Unless you work on it every spare second you have, I would extend that time frame a bit. If you have any questions, just give us a shout! ------------------ http://members.tripod.com/~SnowSurfer/mikekz1.html
  4. It's either a bad ground, or the switch isn't making contact, or a bad contact because of corrosion, on that side. ------------------ http://members.tripod.com/~SnowSurfer/mikekz1.html
  5. My engine is fuel injected, I added a sump to the stock tank (240Z). There around $50 from Summit, or Jeg's. ------------------ http://members.tripod.com/~SnowSurfer/mikekz1.html
  6. They look cool, but might be a bear to graph on a stock Z hood, with that center bulge. I not sure anyone makes a ZX hood out of fiberglass, does anyone know? ------------------ http://members.tripod.com/~SnowSurfer/mikekz1.html
  7. Here's the Spintech site: http://www.spintechmufflers.com/ ------------------ http://members.tripod.com/~SnowSurfer/mikekz1.html [This message has been edited by Mike kZ (edited February 12, 2001).]
  8. You could go either way. You could use an aftermarket system like my Edelbrock Pro-Flo, but you may have to redrill the mounting holes to fit the LT1. Or go to the scrap yard and pull a stock unit, with the wiring, sensors, and computer. Then you could use the stock wiring and clip off the wires you don't need, or get an aftermarket wiring harness ( this would be easier) ------------------ http://members.tripod.com/~SnowSurfer/mikekz1.html
  9. Maybe you have too much oil in the cylinders, and it's fouling the plugs. Try taking the coil wire off and turn over the engine for a while. Check your plugs again too.
  10. You should take your carb off and clean it out real good. there my still be Diesel in the bowls, and may have coated everything in there.
  11. Those are called ZF six-speeds, If it came off of an LT1 it should fit. If it came off a DOHC LT5 it wont fit the LT1. Make sure the bellhousing is with it, it will only fit the LT1. They are much bigger and heavier than a T-56 (145#). They are strong though, rated at 450 lb-ft. gear ratios are 2.68,1.80,1.31,1.00,0.75,0.50. You would have to make a custom mount, it's not the same as other tranys. The tip of the input shaft to case front-mounting fase for the LT1 ZF is 6.280 inches. If you need more info contactCorvettes by J&D at 562-804-5205, or S&K Speed at 631-957-9427. Hope this helps!! ------------------ http://members.tripod.com/~SnowSurfer/mikekz1.html
  12. Welcome Cole!! Alright another 327 fan! Great to have you aboard. If you need any questions answered, fire away, there are many smart people here to help out! ------------------ http://members.tripod.com/~SnowSurfer/mikekz1.html
  13. Thanks, Pete! Did you try this yet? What about using a variable resistor where the 380 ohm one is, to adjust for F and E? would that work?
  14. Hey Pete, in another post you mentioned getting the Ford fuel gauge to read full and empty correctly with the Datsun fuel sender. Did you come up with anything yet? ------------------ http://members.tripod.com/~SnowSurfer/mikekz1.html
  15. Pete, it says that pan is for Street Stock also! ------------------ http://members.tripod.com/~SnowSurfer/mikekz1.html
  16. I was checking out oil pans in the new Jeg's catalog, They show a Moroso SC Series Circle track oil pan. It has a 6 1/2" sump depth, 4 trap door baffles, and removable louvered windage tray. It even has a fitting for an oil temp sending unit. It holds 5 quarts. Part# 710-21800 for $228.99. It's the top one on page 51 ------------------ http://members.tripod.com/~SnowSurfer/mikekz1.html
  17. I don't know if you've driven a car with a vent like a Zcar, That you have to pull open? When you open it with the windows shut, very little air comes in, but if you crack open the window, it will blow in. So that's what that vent hole does, it eliminates the need to crack open the window. Which is nice when it's raining, or you don't want your hair messed up. ------------------ http://members.tripod.com/~SnowSurfer/mikekz1.html
  18. I tried calling both those places with no luck If you have better luck Keith let me know! ------------------ http://members.tripod.com/~SnowSurfer/mikekz1.html
  19. I think you'll like it, even though I had the smaller 2 bbl version, it was easy to adjust. Starting was much better, gas mileage went up, so did power! Plus it's an easy install. Multipoint EFI is better, but it does cost more, and is a bit more complicated. ------------------ http://members.tripod.com/~SnowSurfer/mikekz1.html
  20. Forget about those valve covers, I asked about them, and Dick said he bought them along time ago, I think in the 80's. They are called Rocker Boxes and the guy who used to make them retired and no one else makes them. I talked to the speedshop in Arizona who used to sell them, and that's what they told me. Maybe if you come across a set at a swap meet. ------------------ http://members.tripod.com/~SnowSurfer/mikekz1.html

    Z DASH

    Fast Frog, I'll take one! Is it for a 240Z? ------------------ http://members.tripod.com/~SnowSurfer/mikekz1.html
  22. I put a 2 barrel version on a '83 El Camino I had. I liked it, it worked very well. Mine had small pots to make adjustments, plus I added a close loop system that was extra. That was my first endever into EFI, and it worked out well. Just make sure anything that's grounded is grounded very well! I had a few that weren't and it messed things up. ------------------ http://members.tripod.com/~SnowSurfer/mikekz1.html
  23. Roamer, I built a 327 for my Z, it has Twist Flow Aluminum heads,Comp 270H hydraulic cam, roller rockers, Forged crank (all early 327s had them), and an Edelbrock Pro-Flo EFI. The cost was a bit over 4K, but on the engine dyno it made 435hp, and 493 ft lbs tq! it rev'ed well over 7k with out a problem. ------------------ http://members.tripod.com/~SnowSurfer/mikekz1.html
