  1. you could make your own kit if you want i did it and got everything from A-1 racing it will cost about $300 and you have more spring rates to choose from
  2. the installation on a mustang is alot harder that it would be in the 240z with the datsun you have so much room in the front that its hard to decide where you want to put the turbo there is so much room i think there is a guy with a 350 chevy twin turbo just copy his design and it will be easy unless you are going to go fuel Injection im going to call the guy i sold my mustang to see if he could e-mail me any pics
  3. It havent seen it done but it woulp probally be easyer to make your own turbo manifolds i had a custom turbo kit on my mustang and i was pushing 613hp at the wheels with a stock bottom end i used bbk shorty headers i put the left one on the right and right one on the left with the bottom to the top facing foward if you are in souther cali near where i live i could go give you a hand
  4. ok i have a 1971 240z im almost getting ready to put the motor in but i need advice i have a 2.4 block ported and polished e31 head mild cam dellorto 3x2 40's 3-2-1 header and 3:90 gears should I use a 78 5 speed or a 81 speed both cars are in my loca pull your part i want to do a little autocross and still be able to be daily driven i know the gear ratios diffrence already but just need some advice of people who already done the swap
  5. hey that is a hot looking 280z where do you guys meet in southern cal i would like to go meet with you guys
  6. doesnt the ls1 weight less than the l6 i thought it was a aluminium heads and block i would think it would improve the handling
  7. ok i know if i put bigger valves i will need to do some piston work do the bigger valves make that much of a difference and is it worth the differnece or should i just get the 280 block I would think the L24 would be more rpm friendly but i may be wrong i just want 220 hp at the flywheel what is the cheapest way to get that power i would like more but i lost my job and cant afford to spend alot of money on a motor i will do all my mechanical work what is the best combo for hp for the price
  8. what is the biggest valves i could put on my e31 head and will larger valves hit the pistons on a 1971 2.4 block? and can i make 220 horsepower on a stock 2.4 block with 3x2 carbs setup 40's ported e31 head large tube headers and a cam?
  9. man that last one will work but you wont be able to drift that fast but are your brave enought to try it? hahahaha that would be fun though
  10. hey im really sorry to hear about your health $4k is alot of money try applying for medicare i have a friend who had his apendix taken out and he couldn't affort it and got emergency medicare and didn't pay a peeny give it a shot you might qualify
  11. ok heres the scoop i would use coilovers atleast in the rear and use a 350 to 450 spring rate you could get away with a 300 maybe but if you want to get really sideways use a 450 and use a 250 or 275 in the front so you have pretty good control of the car when its side ways you would want something like a kazz 2 way lsd others will work but thats the best for drifting sticky tires in the front but not racing slicks so good street tires and in the back just some decent street tires as far as power just a good header and all the smog stuff removed and a 81 280zx 5 speed will work good long first gear but the rest are pretty close ratio and you would want to atleats use the strut tower bars
  12. you need top add a url go to photo bucket open a account its free and then when you post the pics just put the url and your done if you get stuck email me at cobraz240@hotmail.com and i will give you better directions
  13. ok srd20det are good the 5 speed is good but the 6spd suck as soon as to crank up the boost that trans will take a $h!t dive go with the 5spd you wont regret it
  14. i would go with a sr20det but do not go with the 6 speed i had one in my s14 rhd car and they brake real easy stick with the 5 speed they are bullet proof compared to the 6 speed
  15. hey a i have a 1970 240z im pulling the ac out i will sell it for cheap i was going to put it on ebay let me know cobraz240@hotmail.com

  17. i don't know i need to check the guy who sold them to me told me the ones i got are streetable but good for ocasional auto crossing
  18. when i was 17 i had a 71 240z and some kid told me to do the timing on the motor with the rear wheels in the air and in gear and to advance it and some dumb things like that to make a long story short i ended throwing a rod through the block in about 5 min luckly i had another motor
  19. i was running around 22psi the calipers bolt right up to the front no brakets just straight bolt on
  20. here are the rear here are the front i still need to modify the stut for the coilovers a custom make i will post the a1 racing part# soon you only spend about $250 and you have alot more spring rates to choose from
  21. well as for power on my car i was thinking of putting a 302 with a turbo when i had the setup on my stang i was putting 562 at the wheels with a totaly stock 302 just with a fuel upgrades but i think im just going to put the stock l24 with with some head work and the 3x2 dellorto car setup with a custom (home made) turbo kit i just want to put 200 to the wheels and the car should be fast enough for me its i light car and i wan't it to handle most of all ohh the bumb stops being backward you could put them either way it will still do the same job
