  1. I'm not advocating or hating on Rota's but these pictures of failed Rota's on Honda Tech and other forums have created a questionable reputation of their quality control. Albeit different circumstances precipitated these accidents, they have happened to owners on an irregular basis. IMHO you can't have exceedingly high expectations from these cast wheels within their low price bracket. Threads here and here.
  2. McKinney Motorsports (Bottom of page) Kinda pricey, but probably good engine placement and convenient.
  3. Chevlon Three-Piece Mesh. 17x8/17x9 unknown offset. Todd Kaneko's Z from 2001
  4. Wow Congrats! The red valve cover and a wire tuck will look fantastic.
  5. In hindsight, I'd have to agree with Comrade Charlie, because I haven't talked to a single person that has enjoyed owning or driving progressive springs. Just note that the driving impression will change differently from when cutting linear springs.
  6. Haha good ol' Zilvia, the epicenter of tire stretches and wheel flushness. Only place where putting a 205-width tire on a 9" wheel is applauded. I'm not hating though, most of their cars are hot and they have a great wheels section.
  7. Wow. Free bump for such a thorough and informative For Sale post. GLWS.
  8. Considering another set of lowering springs costs anywhere between $180-$240 new, I'd suggest cutting the current set of springs. But my only concern would be that since you got the Eibach Pro-Kit, aren't those progressive springs? That would mean depending on how much and where you cut, the initial spring rate will change. I know their progressive kit for example will have spring rates between 80 lb/in and 225 lb/in depending on the amount of compression.
  9. Second that. Waiting for positive results.
  10. That looks really good. Removing the vacuum lines and emission controls tidies the engine bay quite a lot. Interested on how well that MBC performs.
  11. Assuming you have the 15/16" brake master cylinder installed correctly, I'd say bleed the brakes.
  12. Front: 17x9 -13mm Rear: 17x9.5 -20mm or 17x9.0 -26mm These dimensions seem to flush out ZG flares well. And a 0.5"(F) spacer and 1.0"® spacer would flush the neutral offset wheels if you can't find these dimensions. Clearance also dictates full-width tires not necessitating stretches. Although, in agreeing with Oddmanout84, I'm more partial towards 16" wheels with the above offsets for ZG flares. The only drawback is a smaller tire selection.
  13. The fabrication and installation is really clean. I like how the seat height is about level with the door sill because of the square tubing.
  14. If you have the money: http://mckinneymotorsports.com/prod_240-260-280Z+KA24DE+swap
  15. I have to commend your attitude towards introducing a younger family sibling to Z's and safe driving. I'd also like to agree with AK-Z and Chris240zTurbo in that keeping it stock would save the most time and hassle. Adjusting the throttle linkage, which my friend's dad did for his son, or having a rev limiter sounds like the most practical means of slowing the car. I mean allot of people still forgo swapping SR20's in their 240SX's and go drifting with their KA's.
  16. Man hopefully Karma will balance itself out by having those thieves go to hell and have you win the Big Lotto Jackpot. Condolences for your loss.
  17. I'm not really a fan of S130 cars, but I like yours; especially since you're from SSF. I'd have to agree with everyone else and just keep your modifications somewhat modest. The CA smog laws are really too restrictive, so I'd say look towards pre-1975 Z's if you want to really get your hands dirty.
  18. Your car looks fantastic. Good call on cutting the upper fender portion of the side skirts.
  19. Wow that looks really good. The seats look like they belong with the car.
