  1. Joe, Thanks again for the info and demonstration you provided. You have a great Z. Jmead, You also have a very impressive Z and I hope you provide lots more info when you take the Z to the dragstrip. Hanns
  2. If I built an Electric Z it would have to have 2 of those.
  3. Congratulations Scottie. This is my 10th year of retirement and that's why I've had the time to build my Z. The best part is doing what you want to do and not what some BOSS tells you to do. (Wife excepted). I know you will enjoy it. Hanns
  4. Did anyone else see the interesting Electric Powered 280 Z at MSA? It was built by a shop called "Operation Z", which is located in Northridge, Ca. It had a 9" motor with 144 volts but the batteries were wet cell to keep the cost down. It had a 5 speed trans and they turned the motor on for me and ran it. There must have been a clutch to do that. I liked it except it was too quiet. Can you turbo an electric motor?
  5. Have a great Birthday, Dan. Hanns
  6. Larry, You are having much tooooo much fun. Is American Idol next? Are the seniors that you are performing for a captive audience or can they "wheelchair" out of there of their own free will? Hanns
  7. O.K. You got me. But remember you can never have enough Horsepower. Hanns
  8. Happy Birthday, Larry, and many more. Hanns
  9. Nice run!! I've been seeing the pics of your Z on Mike Morgan's photo site but I haven't seen your Z when I've been there. Guess I'll have to go more often. Hanns
  10. I'm sorry to hear that. But you must fix it because we want back to back, Best-Of-Show MSA awards for your beauty. Hanns
  11. The boxes don't leak but it is more difficult to access the carb. The other hat I'm referring to in this thread looks different than most because I have 2 compressor discharge entries that must be joined before blowing through the carb. But it still works like a standard carb hat. Hanns
  12. Adhesive is "The Right Stuff" gasket maker. Backfire ripped one entire side off and peeled up the top. The lid put a huge crease into the hood. Both boxes have anti-backfire valves now.
  13. The box encases the carb completely. The polished aluminum hat feels like it's making more power than the box because it' a straighter shot into the carb. The plexi glass has more thermal expansion with heat and I had to use bigger bolts because with 20 psi boost they all bent. Maybe I'll use the box for car shows and the hat for racing. Either way, I may have to get wastegates now because I can't seem to hook up the power these new turbos make. Jbk240z- The glass is durable, the bolts got bent. Tkach- there should be some exhaust manifold pics in my photo gallery. Thanks all for the comments.
  14. Sorry to hear about your accident. Hope it heals rapidly. That's why I use a lighter, small diameter, high stall torque converter. Hanns
  15. Happy Birthday, Doc. You don't need no stinking tile, I want to see progress on the turbo monster. Hanns
  16. I fabricated two air boxes after my original one had another lean misfire that destroyed it and also took out the hood. Junkyard hood is painted and on. This pic is of the hat. There are several more views of the air boxes in my Photo Gallery. Which set-up looks better? Hanns
