  1. Very nice. I especially like the fact that you retained the stock hood. It's a real sleeper and it looks good.
  2. Mounted my new Air-to-Water intercooler under the dashboard. Cut holes in the inner fender and the firewall to route the 3 1/2 inch cold pipe to the intercooler. Reclocked the compressor housings of the turbos for the cold pipes. Driving the Z to Mckinney Motorsports to have Mack build the cold pipes in the next few days. Still much more to do....but I'm getting there. Will post pics when I'm further along with the project.
  3. Saturday, 4-6-13, I entered and won the True Street race at Famoso Dragstrip in Bakersfield. The best part was when I ran my first ever 8 second pass of 8.903 at 159.34 mph. This was after driving a 30 mile course through the "backcountry" of Bakersfield. The Z also had to pass an inspection to verify street legality. I ran 3 back to back passes in 12 minutes through the mufflers with DOT approved tires. No engine shut-off, no cooldown, no adjustments allowed. My 3 passes only averaged 9.17 seconds since the Z ran hot after the 8 second run. Then they made me wear a royal mantle and crown and took a photograph. After the embarrasment was over, I was given a 6 ft tall trophy and a $250 check. It was a good day....especially after I beat a Twin Turbo nitroused 427 LSX Corvette.

  6. Nice!!!!! Will this be air to water intercooled? Your diagram shows the cold side going back towards the firewall...if I'm seeing it correctly.
  7. If you have an MSD system there is an extra wire you can route to a hidden button. My button is under the carpeting and it cannot be felt unless you know exactly where it is......sometime I have a hard time finding it. The engine cranks but will not start when the button is engaged.
  8. 25 psi of boost through my 750 Carb. M/T 325/50/15 at13-15 psi.
  9. Davy I will have to reduce the power at launch...otherwise I won't hook up. The trans now responds faster and provides more initial power. My best 1/8 mile time was 5.82 at close to 124 mph. That's with the drag radials and mufflers.
  10. Did you see the numbers on the video? 6.23 at 115 in the 1/8 th mile! It has been faster!
  11. Went to Test-N-Tune at Irwindale Dragway on 10-18-12 to check-out my rebuilt TH400 Trans that now has an Ultra Bell, bellhousing. The Torque Converter has also been tightened to 3200 RPM stall to reduce those pesky Wheelies. It still wants to spin the drag radials so the below clip shows the only run where I hooked up.....at great expense to my Mickey Thompsons.
  12. The vents are # 4352, 05/12 Ford Mustang, from Cervinis.com. Cost is $99 a pair. They are plastic and must be prepped per the instructions to avoid fisheye. I cut the hood openings and glued them in. They stayed in at 150 mph. Cervinis provides a special tape to attach them to the hood, but I didnt use it. I don't drive in the rain so the large openings are a benefit.
  13. There are 2 oil coolers. I installed a "Sandwich" between the engine oil filter mounting pad and the oil filter. A 8 AN braided line exits the sandwich and is routed to the first cooler. A line then exits from this cooler and is attached to the second cooler. Another line exits the second cooler and returns to the sandwich and re-enters the engine. The coolers are attached to an aluminum plate that funnels air to the radiator. The oil lines are attached to the underside of this plate. I have not yet raced the Z with the oil coolers but have noticed cooler temperatures while cruising on hot days. My oil temps used to always run 20/30 degrees hotter than the engine coolant. Now the oil temps are only equal to the engine coolant temps. The oil coolers are painted the same color as the airdam so that they blend in.
  14. The Z was partially painted when I bought it and the owner didn't know the color. When I got new fenders I just told the body shop to match the color. When I replaced the hood, the painter said it was Porsche red.
  15. I have used spray cans for touch-ups for the last 13 years on my Z. What is more amazing is the fact that the names of the colors has changed 3 or 4 times during this time period. However, the actual color stayed the same. Why do they bother changing the names?
  16. Congratulations, that Z is flying. Amazing what turbos can do. Do you regret dumping the blower???? I didn't think so!!!!
  17. That is a fiberglass bumper from MSA. The airdam is also a MSA item that I modified for more airflow to the radiator and oil coolers. The airdam was spray painted with 2 cans of Rustoleum red.
  18. There is no doubt you will go faster!! Good Luck.
  19. The Ultra Bell has been ordered and Mike's Transmission in Lancaster, CA will check out the trans and attach the bellhousing. Just a minor speedbump of life!!!
