I redid the compression test with a Mac compression tester and #4 is a little better, it's now at 110 which is within the range of the others so I'll run some SeaFoam through the motor and change the oil and hopefully they will all be bumped up a little. I also bought a new battery which makes a huge difference when doing the compression check.

  5. Haha that actually makes me feel somewhat special. But really do your research and sit and wait. I say look for an AE86 (Corolla), Celica, MK2/3 Supra, FC Rx-7, as stated above S13, Toyota Cressida, those are all good beginner cars and you can find them pretty cheap.
  6. Dude I'm 16 and I'm on my second Z already. I payed $1800 for a '72 240z and a '75 280z both with running motors and they had tons of parts. It's possible to find the deals you just have to be dedicated, it took me 3 months to get the deal I got. It's hard because I don't have a job I just buy and sell stuff to make money and that's not promising at all LOL. I've had my Z for just over a year and have spent $2200 and change in total on my Z's and parts that I've bought and it still isn't running (but I'm almost there) so just remember it WILL take money like everyone else said.   7. Yea that's why I bought them. Only difference if you look at them from far away are the bolts around the center of the rim.
  8. Well the NA 2jz won't fit under the hood of the Z so either way I have to buy a FFIM (Forward Facing Intake Manifold) so I'm going to turbo it if I have to buy the FFIM
  9. Ok we have a problem. The motor that's currently in the car has a problem with the #4 cylinder. The compression numbers in order from fron to back were #1-115 #2-115 #3-110 #4-85 #5-115 #6-120. So I guess god wants me to sell this and put the 2jz in the Z LOL. I might still try to fix it and get it running though. What do you guys think I should do?
  10. No recent updates, this weekend the car was supposed to be running but ended up having to go and meet my Dad's girlfriends parents, so the Z didn't even get touched. But yesterday I decided to take a pic with the Z so that I can have a new screen saver so here it is

  13. 222.35 hp and 200 ft-lbs is what I think but 200hp and 180 ft-lbs is my second guess.
  14. Ok cool. I actually have a Gatorade bottle rigged with a nipple that I'm gonna use to start it because I don't have the money for a fuel pump. I also have a remote starter already too. Thanks for the input.
  15. Well my car doesn't have an ECU (triples) but I'm guessing the spade connector goes to the ignition not ECU, but I may be wrong.
  16. To start the car do I just send 2 wires directly from the positive and negative terminals to the positive and negative on the distributor?
  17. Ok as some of you know I'm selling my L24 with triples and a Cartech turbo kit. Well I have people interested but they want a vid of it running and a compression test. Well the problem is I can't start the motor because my harness that controls the lights and sends power to the starter and ignition got fried somehow (there's a short somewhere) and now I can't do anything. So my main question is, is there a way to hard wire it to get it to turn over and start so I can do a compression test and get a vid of it running? It still has a mechanical dizzy.
  18. Ughhh I can't get anything done until I sell the current motor. I have people interested but they want a vid of it running and a compression test. I can't do either because my harness is fried. I know for sure the engine starts and runs because I've started it in my old Z and it ran fine. Any ideas on what I could do to get it running?
  19. I have the parts from a 240z but they're all the same just cut it to the length you need and then weld.
  20. ^^^Do you still have the airdam that was on it?
