  1. I was not able to remove my cover without damaging it either. Just tear it out and then buy a new cover.
  2. Welcome to the wonderful world of 510 owners. Does it still have a points type distributor? As someone else said, 1 1/2 years is not that long. I would pull the hose from the fuel filter (front corner of engine compartment) that goes to the fuel pump and stick it in a can of fresh gas. Then make sure you have a good battery. Next pull the air cleaner and put a little fresh gas in the carb and then see if it will start. If it does not start, pull a spark plug and see if it is getting spark. If no spark, pop the cap on the dizzy and check the points. That car should start if it was running when parked. Check out the following sites for good 510 info: http://www.the510realm.com http://www.dimequarterly.com http://www.ratsun.net http://www.datsun510.com Good luck with the new 510.
  3. I am looking to install a 300ZX fuel Pump assembly into my 510 so I need the top section of the tank where the FP mounts and the FP assembly too. I will gladly buy the entire tank assembly. This picture shows how it will be used in a 510. Let me know what you have. Thanks,
  4. No one. That wasn't the point. The original post in this thread was taking about buying a set of these. No mention of NOS or reproduction. 280Zforce mentioned that he had a set of NOS for $175 and 280Z - 75 said he had seen them for $19 a set. then he showed a link to an ebay auction for only one side for $49, then it was metioned that the NOS sets brought way more money. He never mentioned that he was willing to accept reproductions so I was merely pointing it out. A guy in Europe or Australia may want an NOS set and be willing to pay for them. I was also pointing out that IMO that was alot of money for a reproduction set. Especially when he only wanted to pay $19 for a set earlier on. Funny thing about NOS parts, they hold their value. Not so for the reproductions.
  5. I sold the entire engine and trans setup to a guy n Canada that was building a velo rossa kit on his Z car. That was back in 2005. The V8 has been on the road since then.
  6. Thats great if you don't mind a reproduction. Price seems high for a reproduction. It is just plastic.
  7. Here is a set on eBay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/DATSUN-240Z-260Z-CLEAR-SIGNAL-LIGHT-LENS-COMBO-LAMP_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ66Q3a2Q7c65Q3a10Q7c39Q3a1Q7c240Q3a1318QQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem220366863222QQitemZ220366863222QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories
  8. Those in that eBay auction are coming from Lebanon in the Middle East. It is $49 with shipping. That is a good price. Does he have both sides? I ahve an NOS set but I wouldn't sell them for $100. Maybe $200
  9. Nice Dave. Sounds like a great project. A bit scary to let a 16 year old drive a nice classic Z car though. Z cars are tin cans and don't offer much in the way of safety protection. Unless you plan to install a full cage like it your LS1 car. Maybe a 77 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham or a big hummer or something would be better for the beginner drivers.
  10. Decent shape. It was curled up in the glovebox so it doesn't lie flat. Bplace it under a heavy book for a while and it should lie flat.
