  1. Perhaps I'm confusing myself... the stock ceramic bladed RB26dett turbos are Nismo units? I thought the Nismo units were upgraded turbo's. (I'm showing my lack of knowledge on the turbo subject here) As for the GT30 being a bit small... I'm just getting into the turbo sizing game. What power range will the GT40 put me in? Right now I don't really want anything more than 400... perhaps I should stick with the stock twins? What do the HKS units run? Do they come with a specific flange or can you order them with flanges for a particular turbo?
  2. Well... I don't have the welding skills to handle that sort of job. I'm sure there are some reputable shops in SoCal that could do the work... I'll have to look around. I've heard enough bad things about the SSAutochrome units that I'm probably better off staying away from them.
  3. I've been seriously considering switching the RB to a single. I've been looking into the Garret GT30R... but I haven't had much luck finding a Top Mount Single manifold. There's tons of turbo's out there... doesn't seem to be many manifolds (outside of Japan). Any recommendations?
  4. This is exactly the problem my fiance and I are dealing with! Gonna be crowded!
  5. True... but I was thinking more of a dirt circle track. I'm not overly familiar with this form of racing but it doesn't seem like they brake too much.
  6. My understanding is that they are only good for short track events and not for prolonged use. I don't think they could handle daily street driving (especially if, like me, you live near a major metropolitan area and are subjected to stop and go driving). I imagine that with the scalloped rotors that you will lose some effective surface area and that conventional rotors would be more effective. But I'm just a shmuck! Lol
  7. Wow... I really appreciate all the help and suggestions. I have heard (from a guy in my IT dept.) that Bearshare is virus laden. I imagine that quite a few of the P2P networks have this problem. That's where Rival5's advice comes into play.
  8. This is true. I am going to buy the full version next year... but I want to make sure it's the program I really want to use first. I realize this is a gray (or even black) area for some... but I can't afford to waste nearly $3000.
  9. 80LT1, I'll check that out tonight and give it a try. I looked on Shareaza, but could never get a connection going. Hat1324, My wife is going to college, but she is taking a sememster off and I'll have to wait 4-5 months before I can look into an educational version. You have to watch the student versions, though. Many times you're paying for a 1 year licence. Full version, full license (IIRC) goes for ~$600 - $700. Not bad... but I've heard rumors that the educational version does not have all the features unlocked.
  10. I don't really need it back. I fit up my rear sump pan last weekend so I could drop the motor in (to get weight on the front end). No package yet. When was it supposed to arrive?
  11. Well... atleast the pan didn't cost much. Sorry it didn't work out.
  12. Probably nowhere. Rhino is pretty good? I haven't seen to many pictures of anything done in it.
  13. Well... I'm already a bit familiar with 3DS Max and I have a few of the tutorial books that were passed on to me.
  14. Are there any places online where I could order used software? I'd like to get a copy of 3D Studio Max (6 or 7), but I don't want to pay $2800 for it new (not yet atleast... maybe after the Z is done).
  15. But can it carry Laser Guided Munitions?
  16. Man... that pan looks so familiar! Looking good Brian... Can't wait to see it in person!
  17. Man... I'm having a hard time with this one. $600? Who in their right mind would sell a car (ANY car) with an RB26 in it for $600. Not calling you a liar... I'm just in disbelief.
  18. Thanks guys. For some strange reason I had it in my head that they were $30 a pop. I can read the part number in your picture... I'll compare it to the one I have at work on monday. The dealership (or, as Jamie said... the stealership) were trying to sell me a bracket, too... but IIRC I only need the isolater.
  19. You know what... I'm gonna go. I have met very few of the HybridZ'ers that are in this area and this sounds like a good opportunity.
  20. Bringing this one back a bit. I just called Toyota to order the Supra Isolaters. Holy cow! $71 each! I need to find the darn part numbers again to ensure I'm asking for the right thing? Anyone have them handy?
  21. Well... It was on Discovery for me, too... just carried by DTV (Satellite). I thought the idea was really neat. I thought the guy was a bit of a tool, though.
  22. Yeah, it was on Direct TV.
  23. Heh heh... I'm watching that right now!
  24. I was looking at the Tilton setup... so I'm kinda interested to hear peoples experiences as well. I don't know that my setup requires a racing pedal assembly, but in the future I may look for alternatives to the stock setup. IIRC Wilwood has a remote resevoir setup... not too sure how that works.
