    Well... no. Sorry if I was misleading...I removed all the chrome from the body of the car. Even though I do like the polished lip I think the entire wheel would look good powder coated. I'm wondering if it wouldn't be better to have them anodized, though.

    I ordered the classic style with black anodized centers. I will be running VB flares (which are spec'd 3.5" in the rear and 2.5" in the front). If I'm doing my math correctly a 5-3/4" bs'ing gives me a -6.35 offset in the rear. The rear tires are 315/35/17's. They're gonna be WIDE. I have that one saved as a favorite! lol

    Resurrecting this from the dead a bit... When I contacted CCW John recommended 17x11 rear with 5-3/4 backspacing. Everyone seems to be mentioning 5" backspacing. I'm wondering (with coilovers) if I'll have clearance issues. Since I don't have much experience with wheels on the 240 I'm kinda trusting John (@ CCW) and his knowledge. Anyone running 5-3/4?

    Nope... I accepted my honorable discharge in 2002. I was caught up in the stop loss and was kinda ready to move on to other things.

    JaysZ, I just got off the phone with CCW. Their customer service was awesome. They sell tires, too, and offer them at the Tire Rack price (+ mounting and balancing free). If you have specific questions regarding backspacing feel free to give them a call... John helped me quite a bit.

    I've heard that as well (and I think it's been brought up on Hybrid, too). If this is true then it would also work on an RB26 running a GTS-T tranny.

    Speaking of Star Wars... I was watching the Simpsons last night and it was the Homer Roast episode. When Monty Burns got up to say his part they played a small bit of the Imperial March song. I was dying!

    All I can ever find for the 240Z is the 86-1811 and 86-1812 shocks. Are the 8610's a special order item? I see the 8610-1436/1437 Race versions in the Koni catalog, but according to JohnC's reply to this post... ... I think I'm barking up the wrong tree. No wonder I couldn't find them:

    I don't have them on yet. I need to put my order in for the Modern Motorsports front hubs. I'll be making my own caliper brackets after that. Might be a few months off.

    You would think that there would be pics of the engine... since that's the cars major selling point. Would definately go over that puppy with a fine toothed comb. Jamie's got the smarts to make the right call.

    My wife's birthday is in August, too... hmmm. We're not big partiers, though (well... not since I left the AF), but I'm sure we can all have a good time.

    Well... I have R32 GTR brakes (Sumitomo's) and I have also been told they are the same as the ZXTT units. If there are any identifying features on the brakes (part numbers or what-not) I can check my calipers to verify.

    Hehe... Been to a few of those myself. Always a good time... unless you're working night sorties. I don't mind coming out... it's about a 4 hour drive for me. I might have some friends coming out on one of the E-3 crews. I just don't have my RB Z done... hafta settle with the Subaru.
