  1. That's my next purchase... pics pics!
  2. I didn't serve IN Afghanistan... I served OVER it... lol. Almost had to land in Bagram once when the aircraft I was on was having...uh... technical difficulties. I'm out now but I know a few TACP's that spent some time in Afghan. The 101st rotated to Thumrait airbase (Oman) before going in. Those guys were a trip.
  3. Len, Where does your son play? I used to go out to Wild West (in Purcell) and thought it was a great field. Lot's of differing terrain types and some obstacles/bunkers. Keith
  4. And the rational reason for attempthing that was...? Our entertainment I guess.
  5. That sucks... people have no respect for the property of others. On a different note... I want one of those Smart cars.
  6. Obiously it's YOUR car, YOUR money, and YOUR time. It would be hypocritical of me, with my RB S30, to decry your decision to modify the E30 M3. I'm just a huge fan of that car (I have a pig poster of the Warsteiner M3 hanging on my wall). To me it's the TRUE M3. Whatever you do... have fun. You can sell it to me if you ever decide to get rid of it.
  7. NO! Sell the car to me. I'll quadruple (if not more) your money.
  8. Thanks dr hunt. Our press operation is extremely light... we don't need over 300 lbs of pressure. I'm going to look into Hasco or DME plates (for injection molding). My main factor of concern here is location (common centers between the tool and fixture). To ensure the proper guide pin fit I need to find plates (or, rather, die shoes) that hold flatness and parallelism to .0005 and [the bored holes] hold perpendicularity to .0013.
  9. Before I get into specific questions... does anyone here have any die experience? We're looking to introduce some die sets to a few of our pressing operations (assembly) and I'm looking at demountable guide pins. Also, does anyone make standard die and punch-holders (i.e. only bored holes for guide pins) that can be purchased outside of a set? Thanks! Keith
  10. GRM built up a spitfire with a 13B in it. They called it the Ro-Spit... cool car.
  11. Joshua, Check out Defi Gauges. Like the Autometer Nexus they're a bit pricey... but still MY fav! http://www.defi-shop.com/product/bf/bf_top.html The BF units (in the link above) go dark when power is switched off. But who makes a matching tach and speedo? The Defi-D Gauge is a great looking unit and can be ordered as an in-dash Tachometer, but no speedo. I don't think there are any in the Nexus or Defi BF range.
  12. Yeah, I did a quick internet search. Looks like a full gauge package with the control module (or whatever it's called) will run around $1500.
  13. What's the pricing? I couldn't find anything (maybe I'm looking in the wrong place). Are they as expensive as Defi?
  14. OMG... almost pissed myself. Anyone else heard this song before? Never trust an SP (or MP) with a mustache!
  15. No Kidding! I've been looking into getting some engine pieces (rocker covers, front cover, intake manifold, plug cover) powdercoated and the quotes have ranged from $80 to $300. I generally ask to see samples of thier work. I'm wary of the shops that ONLY let you see color chips.
  16. Like this? She's not done yet... but you get the idea. There is still some finishing touches I want to do.
  17. You know... I was thinking of selling my '67... then I saw this post. What if someone bought my car and did that to it? How could I live with myself?
  18. Aren't the recesses on the 1st set of pistons included for valve clearance?
  19. Here's a quick shot of the pan. The other pics didn't come out too good Brian, I don't mind driving down there. We've been meaning to go down there anyway. I'm busy this up-coming weekend... let me see what's going on after that. I can ship it if you really want too... I just don't have much free time right now. Let me know what you want to do. Keith

Ahhh... Norman Oklahoma... the memories. Are you looking to do another 280? How plentiful are the 240 and 260's there. I don't remember seeing too many. I looked and looked and didin't find a good one till I moved back out to California.
