  1. I don't have the code on me. I do know that the color did originally come on an Infinity G20 circa 2002.
  2. Thanks... I can't tell you how long it took me to pick that color out. I started with ~ 400 paint chips and narrowed it down to my top 3. Bought a pint of each and sprayed some test panels...then settled on this one. I believe I paid ~$36 a pint for the color. I'm thinking it will take a total of 4 quarts (plus or minus a pint) to cover the entire car (minus engine bay). This will be a 'garage' paint job. The gentleman holding the fender is my gramps. He owned/operated a body shop here in SoCal for over 30 years. He's the trigger man for the main panels since I don't have the skills to paint more than the jams and small pieces. Not yet... still a couple months away... but I'll post when I do!
  3. Sherwin-Williams Ultra 7000 system. 2 coats base + 2 coats clear
  4. Paint decisions... or painful decisions? The hardest part of my project has been selecting a paint color. Here is the blue that I settled upon:
  5. He's saying GTR... he's just not spending much time on the 'T',
  6. I'm painting my front end (fenders, hood, flares, spoiler, bumperettes...etc.) off the car. The hatch (and possibly the doors) will be painted off the car as well. Nothing will be reinstalled until I have the wiring redone, motor running and interior installed. Just make sure you have a safe place to keep all the painted components.
  7. Unless I somehow missed some pertinent piece of information (which is entirely possible )... is the Pinks raffle still going to take place as planned? Or do you need to get the money situation resolved first?
  8. Hmmm.... designing one is no problem. Chances are, though, that it would be much more expensive (than $252.00) to have 6 of them machined and polished.
  9. Err... I'm not trying to piss in your chili (and I don't think Aux was, either), but ALL of your questions have been answered ad nauseum.
  10. I dunno... take the whale tale off and it's not that bad.
  11. turbo_fb: I can get those measurements for you, but it'll be Monday before I can post them back up. I can tell you that there is plenty of room for the stockers, though. A single might be a tight fit. fbomb, The stock exhaust manifold and turbos will fit just fine. The problem is going to be the downpipe. I tried several dp combo's and only the units with a flexi-pipe were manageable. Almost all that I tried contacted the footwell.
  12. The RB30 had harmonics issues over 7500rpm. It's been awhile since I did all my research on the motor, so I don't recall (offhand) whether or not it was an issue with the crank, crank girdle, or rods. Trying to make an RB30 rev past that point may be prohibitively expensive. Like James mentioned, though, 99% of street drivers will never need to rev the motor to, or beyond, this point.
  13. We should turn this thread away from the quality of MSA flares and instead focus on my WOAIP (Work of Art In Progress)! Lol
  14. Yeah, but then you have to clean up the mess! That stuff gets EVERYWHERE!
  15. A quick search for 'RB25DET' netted these posts (and these are only a fraction of what was actually found) that may be of some help to you: JDM Engines: http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=109668&highlight=rb25det Reality Check: RB26 vs. L28ET (some discussion about the '25) http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=110120&highlight=rb25det Q's Mounts: http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=105938&highlight=rb25det RB25 Swap Completed by Vildini Motorsports: http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=109511&highlight=rb25det EMWHYROHEN's Completed Swap http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=109000&highlight=rb25det You might also search for JTaylor's car. There are lots of pictures and some videos of his car around.
  16. Welcome to the board! Which UTI are you planning on attending? IF this is your only car, and reliability is a key concern, I might caution you against an RB swap. Perhaps a refresh of the L28 (which can make really good power... especially with a turbo!) might be an option. It's not that the RB can't be reliable... because it can. It just takes time and money to accomplish... when you could have that L28 singing along in no time! Unless you're having the motor swap done by a reputable shop you can plan on having the car down (not drivable) for up to several months. I would hate to see you in a situation where your ONLY car is down and you're having to bum rides, or hoof it, anywhere you need to go. That experience alone could sour you to the project (and how fun is that?). Venus-Auto has a great reputation and I know several individuals who have recieved motors from them and had no problems. I'm not familiar with JDMRacingMotors, but maybe someone else can chime in? HybridZ will likely be a great resource to you. There are alot of smart guys on this board with a wealth of combined knowledge and experience. I would caution you to ALWAYS use the search feature before posting and read all the sticky's. Welcome again!
  17. The problem I have will all these 'retro' parts molded on to a modern car is that they don't 'flow'. The shapes are, typically, not complimentary. Beauty is definately in the eye of the beholder.
  18. Which is, depending on the individual, plenty of revs for a street car.
  19. Nothing worse than knowing it and having someone keep pounding it into place! Lol In all serious, though... I'm sorry this happened to you, but happy you didn't hit a crucial artery. Good luck!
  20. Joel, They're still out of the flares and do not know when to expect any in. Hopefully they haven't charged you for flares you may never recieve!
