i got some good new and i got some bad new well its all good news to me i got spark now and she started but she runs like crap poppin and crackin but i know why it pops and cracks first off the reason i didnt have spark is because the resistor on the 12v switch power to the rpm signal was to great. I bought a value pack of resistors and i didnt relize that they are not all the same, so i figured out the right one to put in and she fired up the reason its poppin and crackin is i took my crank pully off and reclocked my cas wheel one bolt hole advanced because thats what TONYD did in his 81 build up but i dont think i need to do that since it ran like crap with that done ill be puting it back sometime this weekend or maybe monday after work shouldnt be more than a 15 min fix im so excited that i have the megasquirt running and everything seams to work or at least it all should once i fix my mistake i took my rab out so the test drive will be a little longer but this is the week it runs and this will be the month i have it on the road SO EXCITED THANKS HYBRIDZERS HAHA matt

i redid the rear brakes replaced the wheel cylinders and shoes and new lines all around it seams that when ever i go in revers "when it ran" the rear would tighten up a little not to the point of locking but just slightly did i install something wrong? its the stock brakes all around on a 78 280z thnks matt

they did the mod for me i have an 81 with the CAS on the crank

ok there is no rpm signal should there be one when im cranking? and i dont smell any fuel i have an open turbo so i should smell gas if the injectors were trying to squirt?

i got everything hooked up, put a msq on the ecu the water temp reads the air temp reads TPS reads there is no RPM and no fuel i have metros msq because his setup was close to mine my set-up is stock 81 zx turbo engine 240sx throttle body stock injectors stock turbo modified J pipe to fit sx TB i have it all wired up through the relay board i used the write up off the DIY page when i turn my key on the relays on the board click fuel pump prime's and thats about it no lights on the ECU go on what is normal when u turn your key on? are lights supose to flash?

i just ended up putting some little bolts in the holes for the power and stuff for the fuses i thought i saw some big fuses guess i was wrong took some pics today its just on my phones cam so its not great but it shows my relays and what not going to wrap all the wires when i get it all running and i know everything its working i want to set the relays back a bit because they dont really let me put the stock ECU cover on

does anyone know if this bolts up? ive been looking for a KA 60mm but all ive found was a RB25 he says its a 60mm so maybe its the same as the KA need to know asap so i can get this thing running and tuned by next weekend

where do you guys get the fuses for the relay board? ive been looking and can only find 30 amp fuses... where do you get 70 amp or even 50...

got all my wires ran today and i mounted the ecu and relay board where the stock ecu was i put the IAT in the J pipe still need to get a tap for the CTS and a couple fuses for the relay board and a resister thats about it all the hard work is done well i still need to pull my exaust off and put the bung for the wide band then ill be ready to load a map onto my ms and give her a shot with a open down pipe ill have some pics when im done getting very excited

yup i just stumble apon that yesterday heheh thanks how do you mount wires to the three holes on the top left of the relay? it has a 12v and 2 more i cant remeber what? looks important..

i got everything from DIY that ill need im just about done with all the stock stuff since ive been over the whole car changed many things and could never get it to make power so this is the reason for the big squirt plan hehe

do you use your head temp sensor for MS?? i thought it was just the ATS and CTS

wow clean setup paul, im not sure i want to put my relays so close to the exaust how durable are they for heat and what not? ive been looking for a wirering key for the relay board but i cant find it... kinda want a close up shot of someone relay hehe would love to get this thing wired by the end of the week then tune on the weekend when i have more time

does anyone have any pics of there relay setup for the MS im thinking of putting my ms and relay were the stock computer goes... well thats where its going haha would love to see other ideas tho

had a few min to map out where i want everything i think i might put the ECU right under the steering wheel i dont have that plastic cover that covers all the electronics so ill have to make a new one anyways seems to be allot of room for my legs and what not and then mount my relay board under my glove box my 78 has plastic trim that hangs down a bit under the glove box and u wont be able to see it but it will be easy to access and mount any thoughts? id like to keep the relay board out of the engine bay

did the escort wheel have those hole's to mount? im thinking of doing the same thing, but im thinking of going for the taurus wheel since i think some holes on it line up with the threaded holes in the damper.... very nice work tho did u tap the Damper to mount it? i got like 4 dampers to test run on haha cant wait to get to the point your at

I GOT MY MS TODAY so excited to put it in its allot smaller then i thought i think i might put it and the relay board in the glove compartment ill take pics along the way hope i can have it running by next week

SOLD ill do it haha i just filled it up with water doesnt leak should test it a bit more.. but ill get some plumbing and put the bad boy on i got my instructor at TIG school to do it on my last day haha i just watched i hooked it up to my shop vac doesnt seem to slow it down at all when i blow threw it so excited! whats the most boost i can run with the stock injectors? might have to add an extra one or 2

ok but is the intercooler big enuf?

just wondering if i should install my intercooler while im at it? its 13 x 8 x 3 i think its off a 626 but i swapped my end tanks and put 3inch in and outs on them will that help or hurt for my goals about 250hp..

is the signal from the 81 cas the same as the later models with the cas in the dizzy? Matt cramer from diy is asking my setup but from what i see its the same hook up either way... since they both give the same signal? is this right

yeah im getting sick of "tuning" and not getting anywhere. at least when i change something it will make a diff very excited a little nervous cant wait to post some video of drifting and donuts mmmmmmm donuts bwahahahaha as long as i make power ill be happy since ive never felt the L28 under boost my n/a pulled pretty good but boost must be amazing tourqs haha

its a crank angle sensor CAS and its easy to replace its right in the front of the engine. If thats even the problem but shouldnt take more then 20 min to replace it
