well im trying to figure out my 81 l28eT i thought it was the AFM but when i changed that it kept doing the same thing not enuf fuel when i idle" i have to push the AFM flap open a little to make it idle well" and too much fuel when reved " If i hold back the flap when holding 3000 rpm it runs and doesnt puke and spit" so i guess its either coolent sensor head temp sensor computer?? bad harness... Its an all stock turbo system with an 3inch exaust if anyone had a similer problem i would love to know how they fixed it just want to beat my brothers RX8 and im sure you all want to hear about how i beat a car that costs a little more than ours hehe matt

well i tried the new AFM today. it didnt change a god dam thing i guess it wasnt the AFM the only way it will even move without stalling it to turn the tention spring 3/4 of a revolution So what is wrong with this thing it has NO low end it only starts to go after 3800rpm then it wants to go so i dont know is it the water temp sensor? the Head temp sensor? something in the mix isnt reading right i really want to drive this thing but i never get more than a block away from my garage with the afm in its stock position it runs very very rich and when i hold back the swiper on the AFM with my fingure it runs great but i cant do that when im driving i was thinking of putting an extra spring on it but i just want it to work the way it should i wish i had the money for a mega squirt now but i dont grrrr

thanks to Grayzee i got a AFM just in time for x-mas haha going to plug it in on x-mas and seee what kind of gift it really is hope i can lay some black strips down infront of my dads place "where my car is stored" wish me luck and thanks again Graham

well it will prob take another $100 to install the intercooler buying a couple u bends and silicone conectors and what not maybe more the intercooler i made was just a school project and if it wont work out then thats no big loss my goal for PSI is 10-12 i think that would be max for the stock system or the max id wanna run since its going to be my daily driver. i just want a smooth power band thats resposive and reliable. Im going to drift this car and i need to catch up on all the people around here since i havent driven a "real" car of my own for a couple years i got 3 rear ends an extra trannie 2 extra N/A engines incase i blow my motor and a extra turbo P90 Head and a couple sets of tires and rims. ready to tune this thing for drifting but i need to make power first haha i might just end up going to a water injection since i have lots a spare parts just need a nossle for the spray rainy vancouver will make my practic easier on the tire budget hehe Matt

hmmm very interesting the rx7 is 12x 2.5 hmm thats not very good those things must run allot of air because they are really bad on gas haha i dont get the N/A refrence tho. it has nothing to do with a turbos air flow threw a intercooler so with the boost gauges: Keep the one i got in the manifold and hook another one up befor the intercooler somewhere time to look for a cheap one but that stuff doesnt go on till i get my afm in check

so is it up for donation? does it have a flapper door on the "AFM" or does it have a wire in the middle thats a MAF either way you gots what i need haha

yeah i guess i should ask for a Z31 set up for sale or even a maga squirt that someone doesnt want since thats what i want to do someday but the Z31 require the later dizzy and i got the 81 CAS but maybe that will work should i turn this post into who wants to help my car run seeking free or very cheep parts to get her done hehe Matt

i have a mid year supra turbo intercooler and that thing is so small half the size of mine. maybe not half but it is smaller and it has small tubes. and the design is weak. well if that intercooler is hooked up to a 3 liter motor why cant this one work on a 2.8 ? i dont think toyota enginers would put something on that would not work at all just a thought and another thought maybe convert it to a liquid to air those units are the same size... might be a better set up or not haha. i can just imagine you guy cringing when you read this better than stock is what im looking for and maybe 12 psi does anyone know what psi the stock supra runs? cause those intercoolers are ugly haha Matt

wow 1984 50AE turboGLL that sounds so techie id love to upgrade to the 300zx MAF but i have the CAS so thats another part i need and dont have ill prob go to Mega squirt rather than MAF anyways but ill have to save for that or sell my shell for mega squirt and the newer dizzy. ether way i need a new AFM now

kool thanks for the post. how do you do the formula for figuring out CFM on an intercooler unit? i cant weld aluminum anymore no more TIG classes i might get Gas for my MIG for x-mas so maybe then i can make more stuff after santa visits. If i could only get a AFM that would work then i can think about installing a intercooler and making more power

well finished my intercooler today at school ended up using 2 3/4 tube the core is a good size 13 inch by 3 inch by like 8 or 10 you have a oil cooler that big yashin ?? this is free and im broke right now ...well here is a pic i just took let me have it guys haha

i cut the end tanks off my 626 intercooler and going to put new endtanks on. just wondering what size tubing i should put on the tanks. i want to put 2inch on cause i think thats what the stock j pipe is i might end up using the stock end tank tubes on the new one if my school doesnt have any 2 inch its a stock set-up otherwise just want to turn the boost up a bit. so not redy for a big monster yet

i love your intercooler rztmartini where did you get it? im putting new end tanks on a 626 intercooler its going to be lame but it might help for stage 1 matt

its all stock, just been trying to drive this thing and enjoy it. soon as i get it running ill add upgrades just need a good baseline first. love your vid phil dont you have a 929?? i want to learn how to stunt a bit this summer on mine

ive been looking in my shop for my last part wouldnt you know its the wiper arms. and its raiming like a mother here. well i was wondering if anyone knows what other cars wiper arms fit on the 78 Z maybe i have a choice when i go out to the wreakers.... matt
