  1. If people would just take the time to research and learn the facts about gun control, they might consider changing their thoughts about them. There are (IMO) two types of gun control....#1- The government putting restrictions on then. It's a know fact that cities and or countries that have the most restrictions on guns have higher crime rates.....go figure. On the other side of the fence (little or no restrictions) foster less crime.....why? because criminal are not totally stupid. If you were a criminal, wouldn't you think twice about breaking into someones house if you suspected the owner was armed? Now if the criminal knows the are no guns, theres no problem and he is likely to meet zero oppostion. Gun controls only hurt the law abiding citizens not the criminals. Criminals do not abide by the law...that's why they call them criminals!!! #2- (This is the best) Gun control is when you can stack one round after another on top of eachother, when in the act of shooting! My kind of gun control. Owning guns is about being able to protect one's self. Look back in history, specifically why this country was started, and learn from are forefathers.

  2. Toysport, you mentioned that you intend to section your struts! If you are, infact, a person with little or no welding experience......DO NOT WELD THE STRUTS YOURSELF!!!!!! The stuts are a critical structural component of the car. If you have a failure you will be wishing you had taken the struts to a professional welder, provide you are still alive! I have alot of welding experience and I choose to have my struts welded by a certfied pipe fitter. SAFETY IS ALWAYS NUMBER ONE! Also, it is important to inform the welder that a shock goes inside the strut and to be cautious not to have excessive weld penetration. If this happens you will be trying to figure out how to grind away the protruding welds from inside the strut tubes, so you can insert the shocks. Just some food for thought!

  3. J. Soileau,

It appears that the HID twist-in assembly is larger in diameter than a standard issue H4 headlight twist-in....and likely will not fit, hence the new lense assembly shown in the pic. It does also mention that it will fit into a standard headlight housing assembly, due to the additional length of the unit. Regarding the cost of these HID systems....they're all very expensive compared to standard systems. What's that old saying..."If you want to play, you got to pay"!

  4. Interesting comment from Scottie regarding rear end squat on a Z! I remembers many years ago when the Corvette started using IRS. The guys ate the drag strips, that raced these vettes, ran extra wide slicks because.......when the rear squatted, the tires were no longer square to the track (the more the car squats, the more negative camber you have), hence less rubber on the ground. So to somewhat compensate, they ran wider slicks.....improving traction to some degree. My point is, it's not so much a matter of a car squatting but the relationship of a tire's contact patch with the pavement under launch. As most know, this is not an issue with a solid rear axle car.....like most drag cars use. So Scottie, you most likely could reduce your ET without an IRS setup. I guess the only exception to the rule, regarding IRS, is if the design of the IRS used equal length upper and lower transverse links. Just some food for thought!!!

  5. butlersZ,

Dan is correct about the relays. Relays are nothing more than a switch! A small amount of current is required to activate the contacts (an electromagnetic coil physically closes contacts to complete a circuit) and the closed contacts carry the high current to what ever device you are operating. Basically, relays keep high current out of the drivers compartment (safety) and likewise reduces the amount of wire (smaller gauge wire) needed for a system. Hope this helps further explain relays!

  6. Interesting! However, the only word that comes to my mind is....WHY? Please hide or destroy all evidence of this post, as it may inspire someone to build an ENZO WAGON. Imagine that, if you will! But hey, somebody must have loved it! :twak:

  7. I recommend putting your $$$ into suspension and brakes. Do the complete polyurethane bushing upgrade, strut inserts, and springs first, then see if you have any $$$ left.....then tackle the brake upgrades. However, if the brakes are currently in need of attention, get them squared away so you can stop safely. Other things to consider.....new bearings for the wheels, drive axles, and drive shaft.....maybe some sway bars, some good tires and wheels, address any cancer spots (rust), etc., etc. Isn't it a bitch that $$$ always slows up these projects. Good luck innerware!

  8. Sorry to here about your problems with the dash cap. Just curious, how did it become warped and all wrinkled up? Others may learn from this. However, when properly done full dash caps look like a new dash. If you are interested and could use some help and or advise regarding the installation of a full dash cap, let me know......I'm about 45 minutes away from you.

  9. PBooty, Invest in a full dash cap. Remove as much of the stuff you put on the dash, right down to the original surface, do alot of test fitting with the full dash cap until it fits correctly, secure it as per instructions...........results, a dash that looks like a new original. You'll love it and ask yourself why you didn't do this in the first place. Good luck!

  10. Mikelly, thank you for saying what you said! I couldn't agree with you more. Regarding making a list and researching to determine which candidate will get my vote......got my list, did my research, and made my determination on a candidate! REMEMBER TO VOTE FOR GEORGE BUSH FOR PRESIDENT IN NOVEMBER!!! Kerry is a dead parrot, so let's get back to something more mechanically fun.......like Z cars, big HP, forced induction or something! :D Thank you.........

Hey, I heard that Mr. Bush is an avid fan and collector of old Z cars............just kidding. :-D
