Market it!!! Chances are good you could make a small bundel-O-cash. Looks just like one might suspect it should, for something in a hospital. Nice work!
-
A fine time to point that out...... Thanks for the thought though!

I agree with Mike. At your stage in life, just chock it up to experience. Besides, why would a young guy like you want to get tied down so soon. Live a little, start a career, go to the gym, rebuild a Z car.........
P.S. Don't tell me....you got your ex pregnant! Time will heal all....been there done that a number of times (not the getting her pregnant thing)...you will survive.

Maybe we could get Diane Fienstein and Barbara Boxer to join them. (move to Canada) Wouldn't that be grand? Come to think of it....how about adding to that list; Charles Schummer, Ted Kennedy, Hillary Clinton....I know there could be more!

Come on how, what did you do to her and how old are you? Come on.....tell us the truth...waiting for reply!!!

Check out Vintage-TechZ's posts. He is fabricating Cf parts as we speak!

Maybe I'm blind, but I didn't see any CF parts on the 240Z in the attachment!!?

A couple of very agressive pitbulls, chained to the car, would work well.

I for one would be interested in a SBF install kit. Maybe you could put this guy in touch with Terry Oxendale....Terry could surely shorten your guys learning curve...you know, avoiding some of the unknown obsticles that arrise when doing these conversions. But again, yes I am interested!

I believe going with a turbo charger rather than a superchager is the prefered route. There's a guy back east (President of one of the Z clubs) who is running a supercharger....nice install but nowhere near 600HP! I think there is only one supercharger kit available for the L6... and I believe Jim Cook Racing has them still.

I would recommend using the 5 spd (B unit...close ratio) out of a 280ZX. But, be sure to check your rear end gearing... the 81 -83 Zx 5 spd is intended to have a 3.90 gearing. 4.11 would be really nice for playing however!

Interesting......there is a product advertised on TV called "Poops-a-dent" that does just what you explained. Quess what! It's only $19.95. Imagine that.

I'm taking a quess here, but I think he's talking about shaving down the intake flanges to match the exhaust manifold flange thickness, so even pressure will be applied to each flange when tightening down the fixing nuts. Generally speaking, header flanges are thinner than the stock intake flanges. I'm curious to find out if this is a good quess? For my set-up, I just machined a set of stepped washers to accomplish the same thing. I would be concerned about fatigue on a thinned down aluminum flange, but hey...I might just be overly cautious.

Amen to that you said Mike....a true patriotic American. Hell, you should have been President!

Thanks Jon! I've been using the Swepco 201 in my open R200. Regarding the 200SX LSD....I went to some of the 200SX site and discovered that the 1.8 Litre Turbos came with the R200 LSD. At least the 85 & 86 models did. Thanks again for the quick reply!

Hey guys, I just purchased a R200 LSD carrier for my street toy. I am curious about what type of gear oil/friction additive you would recommend to use? I found a used carrier from a 1986 200SX Turbo, from a place in Rancho Cordova, Ca. called Sunrise Foreign Auto Dismantling, for $250.00
I was getting so frustrated coming out of a corner hard and having the inside tire cut loose. I think I would have prefered to install a Quaife unit, but at approximately $1300.00 I think I can live with a $250.00 clutch pack type differential. So, what gear lube do you think I should use?

Bartman,
Just one word of caution! Protect the chromed strut shaft....in the event your wrench slips off while you are tightening the gland nut. Dings in the shaft will = leaks and insert replacement. There's just not much of a wrench flat on these gland nuts, so be careful.

iskone,
I don't believe you will be able to fit 255-40 x 17" tires under a unflared stock Z (240, 260, 280). I have a set of 17"x9" (rear) with 235-40s tires and I'm right on the limit of clearance.

I agree with Miles.....just suck it up and buy a new unit. Rebuilding one with new diaphram is less expensive but you will need to fabricate (or buy) the tool required to disassemble the mastervac. It has a big ole spring in it that can hurt you if it flies into your face or other body parts.

I agree with you guys........butt ugly!!!! I quess some people have no taste other than in their mouth. Nice execution however!

First clue.......no helmet!!!

What was this guy smokin??? Well, isn't it obvious......PINK cigarettes.

New Seats.

demidion is right! If your a tall person (5' 10" or better) you might want to look at a set of SPARCO entry level and certified race seats. The butt pad portion of the seats are suspended similar to the stock seats and won't put your head up against the headliner. How do I know this? Went through this exercise myself. My seats are in a fixed position and by drilling additional holes in the stock seat brackets they bolted right up. I actually used some of the stock round plastic seat spacers to get my seatback angle to my satisfaction. These seats are like a glove....absolutely perfect for performance driving. They take a little getting used to, to get in and out of them.....probably a little more effort with a rollcage. I payed $200.00 each and they will accommodate a harness as well. Just my two cents worth...hope it helps you out some.
