  1. Oh, well then. Now that i know for sure i will be saving up for a set. What's the difficulty of replacing the entire set one by one and how much time does it take to do just one wheel? Any tutorials or threads dedicated with pictures and how to put new suspension in btw, too?
  2. I have 2 dim head lights now as well too. Though do not use them much at all it is not a big concern atm but soon will be. Hope you figure it out and shine some more light on me
  3. I hope i dont regret pondering this one but i have looked for suspension kits and only seem to find ones that EXCLUDE the 2+2 model. Why is this? And where could i buy a set for a 2+2? As i said before, hope i do not regret that one.
  4. Wow, i am very impressed on how much progress you have achieved in such a short amount of time. You have managed to do a lot and even pick up a beastly truck. You have been saving your money for a while haven't you?
  5. I felt it was a mistake opening this thread because it was so dead! I live North Muskegon. How about yourself?
  6. Hey looks good! Sucks the previous owner didn't care to take care of just a little better, but all the more time spent with you and your new Z to get situated together. How much was it? Good find, congratulations!
  7. WTF is the motorZycle..I don't care if you wanted to be different or anything else. Making a great vehicle into something such as a mix match of a tri-wheeled motorZycle is garbage IMO. Thank God for freedom of personal opinions cause i say majority rule would get rid of that guy. Reminds me of the LamboStang..if you have that much money to waste, keep it to yourself
  8. Heh...Ones that are slightly big and fit snugly. I'm not going to take mine out to see what size exactly though, so i cant help you. You could try getting some slightly long bolts and if i can remember correctly, about finger width or a little less. Just hit up the hardware store!
  9. Just figure replacing the alternator then. Im sure that is your problem. If you haven't replaced one before (as i hadn't before) then make sure you know everything you need to before you make the replacement.
  10. That one ^above^ reminds me of a shark. The headlights fit, and the color matches perfectly. Can't see the wheels to great, but i get the overall picture. Do you have a more heads on picture of the wheels though?
  11. If you do it yourself, your looking at a fraction of the cost to do it, but a ton of time consuming work. Just body rust repair is very time consuming on it's own even if there isn't any places where it needs to be cut, but it's deep enough to where you have to grind and sand for a long while. I've been working on body rust on mine for 2 months now, with about 2-4 times a week i can get at it for about 2-5 hours each time. I am a beginner, but either way its still a great amount of time work and energy required. If you plan to do this, sincerely plan ahead of time and work out the prices with a bit of leniency towards more $$ costs than expected. Do not attempt to weld if your skills are beginner, practice and practice till they are good welds then you can tackle the job on if you have enough skill and time to do it. Hope that helps some.
  12. I had changed my alternator about a couple months after purchase. Boy was that a very odd problem. The battery volts would decrease on the gauge SOMETIMES and then go back up. I figured it was a bad battery, so i had it tested, actually twice. Finally one day, "we" thought the battery finally gave out, and replaced it and the car ran pretty good for over 10-20 miles. Then the same problems occurred. I was fearful of getting the Z stuck on the road AGAIN so i kinda raced home which was an hour away! The gauge showed a low reading, yet it stayed consistent and no battery gauge light came on until i got in the driveway. I was lucky i made it home. I talked to a few guys, and they suggested testing the alt by placing a metal object such as a wrench behind the alternator while the car is running, and the wrench will be magnetically pulled by the alternator if the alt is in good condition. My wrench failed misereably. Make sure the wrench is actual metal too if you use this method or another metal tool is fine. I replaced the alternator with a gallon of elbow grease and none to spare. Instead of dropping it underneath the car, i decided to pull it out topside because i was in a tight pickle that was my only option. That took awhile, and had to rearange a few things but it worked out. I hooked it up, and it runs. Glad it was actually the alternator and not the 2nd battery that could have been bad as well, cause all that work would have been for nothing. In short, more than likely, get the alternator replaced. As for rebuilding it yourself, your better off buying a new one from autozone and giving them your core for 10-20$ back. Total is about 60$ spent on a new alternator. It's worth it if you plan on keeping the car. And yet i still have a horrible vacuum leak somewhere...man that is truly making me ancy that im having such a hard time finding it! Anyways, hope my story shed some high beams of light on your alternator problem!
  13. I've never even imagined something too this extent with an engine. How sad! But now i've seen it and its been imprinted on my brain. Totally ^!@#$% crazy.
  14. Idk where you have been, but hell yes there is. Thats the best kind of food you can get is FREE. But i think i get your point
  15. Good luck mate, God speed and have faith. Come back safe.
  16. But exactly how should i go about frying these treats? Do i need to batter them up with something before i place them in the fryer? I actually could just google this, but Hybridz-postin it is more fun lol.
  17. Yeah that is actually a good deal from the deals i have seen concerning these rims. I actually have 2 rims of mine that aren't in good condition and i kinda want to get them replaced. I've seen these wheels sell for 20 each, to 40 each. So the price that you can get them for, are indeed a good price IMO. I would buy them asap myself. Can i?
  18. Come on guys, we've had our fun teasing and such about getting them and how much we'd pay for them but we all know it's not going to make them come any faster. We will get word of them when they arrive on that red carpet link And i am sure that will be very near future.
  19. Correct me if i am wrong, but don't you need a vacuum pump gauge to test that, and not your mouth because you don't have enough suction power with just your mouth..?
  20. Either way though, were all going to buy one, i'm sure
  21. How comfortable are those model seats? My 82 280zx dual suede/leather are nice because of the design IMO but comfortability is at an average. I like the sports car type looking seats the older Z's had so im just curious how they feel to sit in :]
  22. lol. I was actually just looking over the pictures and then saw those windshield wipers. I was just looking at mine the other day and thinking i should paint them. Minor stuff like that really make a difference.
  23. I actually dont think it looks that bad. You could try mineral spirits or some other paint remover to get it back to before? Just as another guy said to use acetone and a rag. Let us know if it works for you.
