  1. Good bike choice! If I ever get a cruiser that's the one.
  2. The Barbie guy from Australia has a custom built crank (sorry, eccentric shaft... is that right?) in his 4-rotor. That red FD is OUT OF CONTROL!! HOLY COW! And, looking good aux. Love to see the finished product.
  3. Hey, actually looks pretty good! Congrats on the purchase and good luck.
  4. Yeah, just keep the stock L6 and throw some spare-tire donuts on there.... I bet you could spin 'em down the block Sorry, not helpful, I know 8)
  5. If the intake manifold gasket is paper, what you can do is get it wet just before installing the manifold. Install it and start the car up. The heat from the block will dry the gasket to the surfaces and essentially seal everything up. Of course, this only works if you're ready to start the car up and the only thing you have to do is put the manifold on as you don't have all day to work with it. As to the oil change, I'd drain it really good, put new oil in it, run it for a while, then drain, as you said. I'd only wonder exactly how long to run it, whether just until warm, or for 20 miles, or whatever...
  6. As an Aussie native like yourself I'd go with Simmons hands down... the HREs are my dream wheel but I'm just going to go 5 lug/ Mustang wheels to make life easy.
  7. If you ran the tank dry you may have sucked up sludge, rust, crap, whatever else is sitting at the very bottom of the tank and clogged the filter. I'd replace it first and see what happens.... It's also somewhat likely that the pump burned up from not pushing any gasoline through, so both of your guesses are valid..
  8. I've read that article before and the man makes some very good points. The thing that makes me believe is that he's not trying to sell you some miracle product or information - he puts it out there for everyone to use for free. Seems to me that he really does trust the concepts at work. I am planning to give this a go, should i ever buy any new vehicle
  9. I'd say you'd use stuff for the Z, as all that stuff is contained under the L-series bellhousing, which is still used. Sounds like a cool deal, if I ever do build a turbo motor I'll look into this I have a friend who's dealt with Troy in getting a Nismo R180 LSD for his 510 and everything checked out.
  10. I had a bad transaction and filing a complaint with PayPal eventually (!) solved it. It was extremely frustrating while I was waiting, though, so I feel your pain. Good luck with it. Either you get your parts or you get your money back, period. That's the way it's got to be!
  11. I was all set to go check out the V8s and VWs, up until around 11'oclock the night before... then, I just didn't think it was worth the hassle to try and get up there and have everything cool already be gone. Still planning on heading up sometime, though. 8)
  12. Internet Explorer? Mozilla? What are those? I use Safari. 8) Trying the trick now, let's see what happens... logging in is getting aggravating
  13. Got my '93 Accord wagon 5spd daily driver/parts hauler, '71 350/T5 240Z, and a '91 Yamaha FZR 600 motorcycle. I've also owned a '67 VW squareback and a '93 Suzuki GS 500E motorcycle. Oh yeah, and I'm 19, just for the record.
  14. Can some admins please make it infinite, then? this constant logging in is very quickly wearing me down.
  15. Ahhhh yes... A guy has one here in San Diego that is built for autocross. Awesome little car, it's one of my favorites. Hey, I found a picture without really trying! No doubt because it's a nice Griffith...
  16. Get rid of the stock hood latch, slot crossmember holes, reroute brake lines for pass. side exhaust, clean up wiring and remove unneccessary stuff (coil, underhood light, voltage regulator, fuel filter, etc). The JTR book has several good pages with pictures of before/after so you'll see just what you need to do.
  17. Yes, you can get the adapter for less (Neapco brand, part number..?) I wouldn't run a straight piece of steel, though, it would work but where is your exhaust going to go if you route it the traditional way? Zs are low cars, especially when running lower than stock suspension (as most V8Zs are).
  18. Wacky! My tranny drips oil onto the hot X-pipe directly below its end seal, which turns to a rich, full-bodied smoke and enters the cabin by way of the open shift boot
  19. That particular cover is ugly but the bike is awesome. Tim, want to buy a '91 FZR 600?
  20. I was just sitting pondering my cooling system when I got to thinking, are my heater core hoses actually hooked up correctly? I believe they are but now I need reassurance. Upper hose - pressurized by pump - lower hose - return to intake manifold. Right?
  21. Tsk... shame, that. You must have felt like Rat Fink with your hand three feet up in the air like that to shift gears
  22. Glad you enjoyed 666 posts, cool beans.. glad i didn't notice that before. i had a '67 Sqaureback for a few months, bought it for $1000 and sold it for $2000. awesome car, know i'll never find another one like it. I want a split window bus now... single cab truck specifically, slammed to the ground
