  2. the last one is better :> on all 4 well the rear 2 atleast:burnout:
  3. ouch not exactly the pics i had in mind. good undercarriage shot though :> anymore of teh car before that. Did you fix it?
  4. jap tin do you have pics of your car online? if so can you post a link. i saw a picture of it a while ago. mine is going to look very similar to your setup i think when its done
  5. They are not holding the guy back they are keeping the car straight.
  6. I personally think the solid rearend is best. No offense to anyone running in the 9s on the stock rearend but once the car really leaves hard IE transbrake or good clutch the reareend will let go. not the diff but an axle or stub shaft. i danced around doing a custom IRS but it would be very expensive and ultimatly more expensive then a solid rearend swap. just my 2 cents
  7. HAHA Hugh i just noticed your car used to be the same color as mine.... PUKE GREEN
  8. COol thing about Zs is they still look cool without the hoods installed. I say take it off till you get it fixed:evil:
  9. OK instead of me saying use the search option this time i went ahead and did it. i used ford nine inch and got so many hits it was unbelievable it has been disscussed that many times here on HYBRIDZ. so i searched solid rearend and got abotu 2 pages of hits... the search button rocks http://forums.hybridz.org/search.php?searchid=405364
  10. look thru the stickeys in this forum all the info is in there just have to look. Congrats on the rb25 you will like it
  11. http://72.29.75.31/~videof6/manuals/gtr_32_service_manual.pdf there is the english manual. Its 23 meg
  12. Read through the post on swapping an rb26 or rb25. sounds like alot of the stuff that aplies to that swap will apply to your swap. The rear sump being referenced is the sump from the japan only z31 that had an rb20 stock in it. there are a couple threads in here referencing parts number. Thats about as much info i can give you.
  13. I agree and thats the only reason i havent gone and pulled the car. If the shop my car is in was under question then it would have been too late anyways.
  14. http://www.adn.com/news/alaska/story/7660160p-7571832c.html There is the situation. The guy that is doing my car has not been effected by this but was employed heavily by the ringleader and my question is if he knew something about what was going on but was not involved is he at risk? Is my car at risk just being in his shop? The shop that it is at used to have Tom Raines as a leaser but has been signed over exclusively to jay Childs (chassis guy) The FBI, ATF, DEA served a warrant at the shop where my car is at and found what they were looking for. It was a gun safe and a tool box that belonged to the drug dealer/welder:rolleyesg they opened it took what they needed and then left Jay (my chassis guy) alone. I was thinking that is Jay was involved and had anything to do with what was going on he would be gone also. Anyways I'm considering pulling my car on Wednesday the 25th or April. If I do this it won’t get done for a while. If I stick with it and he is in the clear then it should be done in May sometime. BUT if he is involved there is a chance my car could get jacked by the FBI for investigation purposes and not seen for a while:-x I know there are 100s of different things that could be going on here but my gut instinct tells me go get my car. But I also want to get it done. So what do you guys think? Any real legal advice out there?
  15. RB20s dont get twin plates for nothing. Did it have the stock intake bolted to it? turbo still there? care to post any pictures of the motor
  16. You may want to hold on to the motor and be sure what it is. Did you run ir before ? if it has a OS twin on it there may be more to the motor to.
  17. looking to be possibly sub 9s
  18. Its powdercoated. Thanks matt for the explaination. Did you get my IM on the hardware?
  19. I bought the engine in its current config. dont plan on changing anything till something breaks.
  20. It was halfshalts till i upgraded to the custom axles. I was thinking about custom billet stubs but that would ahve anly solved some of my problems. I was running pretty consistent 1.6 60 foots when i started my tire/suspension tuning to get faster... thats when it all started :< At any rate i think even with a relatively stock motor and a good clutch. A 5000 rpm launch will kill the stubs or axles in a stock rearend car.
  21. Do you have alot of wheel sppin? what kind of 60 foots are you cutting? I had upgraded to 300zx (z31) stubs with custom chromloly cv axles. shreared those puppies like they were made of lead. More then once.
  22. HAHA i had 4:88 in mine..... makes the stubs shear like melted butter:twisted:
