If you haven’t been to Japan or built an import motor then your advice is Hearsay!!!!!!. Matt’s Advice is gold if you ask me. The only kind of break-in advice I had ever heard from anyone in Japan (lived there for 11 years) that builds motors (pros) was to change the oil in certain increments. Nothing about keeping it at this rpm for a certain amount of time yada yada. What kind of import motors have you built and "run in" I'd be interested in your background. One of the complaints I have had about this RB forum is that there is allot of speculation and allot of young kids putting in there 2 cents when they don’t know what the hell they are talking about (please know one take offense). I can assure you though if it comes out Matt’s mouth you can take it to the bank. Rb motors are relatively new on US soil and not too many people know allot about them. People like Matt, and some other’s I can’t think of right now are what makes this forum such a good resource. I will get off my soap box now sorry for the rant. BTW GTR--J you do whatever makes you feel comfortable. And congrats on your purchase. Let us know how it goes.

AHHHH ok i have heard of the 400R but didnt know it had a differnt spec motor. Since there were so few made good luck finding one and if you do expect to pay and arm and a leg. might be able to purchase direct from nissan japan .

First off for the locating a rb26 question.... SEARCH the RB forums there are plenty of posts on where to buy motors from ... there are always motors on ebay to. second what is RBX-GT2?

Why dont you just keep your stock tank and modify it with a sump. i have seen several examples here on hybridz of this being done.

I was on a strict budget, and it came with the setup. The rb26 disc was not avaiable at the time and the sr20 works fine

Joel beat me too it.... you gas tank has created somewhat of a vaccuum because you have taken fuel out of it without letting any air in. The only crap i had left on mine before i went to a cell were the one or two vent lines that went up to the fuel cap area. everything else got pulled and scraped except the hard line going to the front of the car. hope this helps

R34 have better turbines, (steel wheel) they have better looking cam shaft covers :>. And if your talking for the same price wait for the r34 rb26 for the most obvious.... Its NEWER. As for the flywheels they are the same but the r34 has a pull type clutch and not sure if the flywheel is the same. the r32 rb26 i had a sr20 disc in it. (prabably what saved my rearend for so long.) But to answer your main question ( i think) you can put a r33 flywheel on a r34 or r32 rb26 they are all the same. Im installing a rb30 auto flex plate to my rb26 for my 2 speed glide. BTW the rb20 flex plate bolts up to the rb26 also.

Well mine is supposed to be a roller by the end of the week. If it actually rolls next week ( not getting to excited ) then i say about 2 months to get everything back together and get it tuned. I cant freakin wait. I dont know about the rest of you but it has seemed like my life is on hold till i get this freaking car done. Parts i need to complete fuel pump and plumbing intercooler plumbing a set of 30 in MT possibly a new set of wheels for teh front if my offset dosnt let me set the car low enough without rubbing the fender and a couple other odds and ends. nothing major..... I JUST NEED MY FEAKING CAR BACK.

If i could suggest a gage setup that i have never seen before it would have to be a combo AF ratio and EGT with a little plug in the middle to plug into to log with :>

No the mounts just have to be made smaller as the r33 5 speed is allot more big around in that area. ALL I did was weld the ears to the preexisting metal. Some add a plate to attach the ears to.

Mine looked identicle to that. With the exception i didnt weld in any addition plate. You have to shave off the old ears and weld in a new ears. The way i did it was make the brackets and then attach everything to the tranny how it was going to be assembled. with the tranny mounted to the engine and the ears mounted on the tranny mount i jacked the tranny up till it was where i wanted it. then tacked everything in place. removed tranny and finished welding. took a total of maybe 2 hours total Good luck.

Most apartment/condo complexes have some sort of restrictions on working on cars too. If they complain enough to the complex manager and he feels you are in teh wrong then you could be looking for another place to stay.

The entire top of the strut maintained the s30 AZC coil over setup with springs

I googled drift setup and got like 5 pages of hits A drift setup is basically the same just depends on the driver. I tried it once in a ahchi that didnt have a difff and totaled it going around the third corner never drifted again

The chopped Z is just that a full steel body with a cage and chopped top. the other project is a full up tube chassis witha fiberglass body set on top of it. not quite the same. you could probably put just about any compact car body on that chassis with slight mods to make it fit.
