  1. no surge tank stock fuel tank. plan on upgrading to a surge tank with a adjustable fuel press reg and an extra fuel pump... but right now its a stock 260 fuel sys with the exception of the pump
  2. here is a clip of a run i did with a low 12 sec camaro and DSM the headlights on the right were the talon....it was probably the fastest import in alaska to date video
  3. scottie you still running SDS or did you go with something else?
  4. sorry scottie may not be as much a technical wizard as you think.... FP= fuel pressure right? right now all im running is a 600hp bosche fuel pump. the rb26 has a booste sensitive fuel regulator. If i understand you, i need to know the recommended fuel pressure for the injectors then make sure my system is set to that ... or SDS will not be right? What will not be right duty cycle?
  5. you can fix alot of lag on those bigger turbos by going with a smaller A/R exhaust housing and a big wastegate.
  6. do you have a mixture meter or something to see what fuel ratio your at? if not youll need one or else its gonna be hard to tune. but i can be done. if you have the instruction manual read it like 3 times... setup the rpm fuel curve first with no booste if possible. i disod my intake pipe from teh engine so i had a true NA engine and tuned it that way all the way to 8000RPM. then i hooked up the pipe and did the map side of the curve.. went thru 2 tanks of gas but its almost done... what i need now is a 2nd person to watch gages. Im in the 450+ range and its really hard to watch 3 different gages at once. if If you get a stumble turn the mixture to make it more rich if it gets worse then you are too rich .. you need to go back and change the settings in that range to lean it out and vice versa. Per the manual be careful with stumble if its a lean stumble you can burn a hole in a piston quick so if it sputters at all get out of it quick my 2 cents... scottie can help lots in this area i believe he used to have a setup close to yours
  7. OK lets bring this back to life..... Scottie... thanks for your info on the rpm fuel curve (EMAIL) this helped alot. what i did with the 680s was disco wastegate act and the intake pipe to the motor so it was a true N/A motor. Once i did this and started setting it IAW the SDS manual the low end numbers came up a little and the high end numbers came way down!!!!! i no longer have that steep curve like the excel sheet i sent you. the numbers range form 60 at 1500rpm to 90 at redline... only real jump is right above idle. I then reco'd the turbos and intake pipe and started my full booste tuning (My old map curve was still there) its was really rich!!! so i started backing it off and it got better and better... still have some lowend rich stumbles but i can fix that later point is .... this MOFO RUNS It never used to break the stock tires in 3rd but now it smokes them!!!!! I understand now what you were talking about with all the curves and stuff but i still think the 444cc were maxed even if i did tune them the same way .... the 680s are running right at 80-85 duty cycle all the way thru the redline and im still a little rich as mentioned before. So now all i have is to get my tires and take a trip to the track and see what i break hopefully its only my personal best wish me luck
  8. you do have oil in the diff right? beside the diff being bad cant think of anything else that would casue a notable grinding noise
  9. oops nevermind read the manual It says to set it up with lowest booste possible .
  10. I have my new 680 cc injectors installed and want to set up the RPM fuel as best i can before i start putting booste to it.... problem is with the wastegate actuator rod dicod from the valve it still builds booste. What i wnat to do is disco the intake pipe so no booste gets to the engine....would it be safe to run high rpm on the turbos with no restriction like that? or do you have the chance of overspeeding the turbos and blowing them out? Or should i just settle with the couple of PSI that it is building now set it up with that? OH yea the rb26 is strong as hell na motor tooo!!!!
  11. im gonna stick with the 275 comp ta BFGs and will try and change my gearing later on. anyone have a 4.11 or better ring and pinion (R200) laying around they want to get rid of
  12. i thought it was a place to jack the car
  13. they advertise better then the original BFG DR. and come in a couple smaller diameters. and have a cool looking tread pattern. any opiniions. best of all they are cheaper
  14. in this same section look for "so you wanna install an rb26" or go here
  15. the bottem one is the one im talking about
  16. here is the info on the oil coolers and what car they caem in
  17. that looks like a sa oil cooler but yes it is very close to that
  18. any year FC3S has the oil cooler im talking about.
  19. i was more interested in the stuff behind the seat which looks to me like it would eliminate any type of chassis flex. the bars in the passenger area and shin knockers are out of teh question. I dont plan on this exact cage but something like that will tie the rear strut towers and the main hoop together along with everything else. the x bars will be more like a Y. I dont want to make it too hard to get into and out of the car. heres the site for the car
  20. Here is a mod i did on my rx 7 a couple of years ago... the mod was to get twin stock oil cooler oil coolers. for those of you who dont know the rx7 turbo FC3S has one of the biggest oil coolers around. first go to mazda trix and get the part number for the earls fittings they use in the braided line kit. the ones that connect to the oil cooler mazdatrix then get some braided hose , mount the oil cooler in the front somewhere and route the hoses to your engine and connect with whatever your engine uses to supply oil to oil cooler or a remote oil filter or whatever it works really good
  21. i might add that rick drives his skyline to work very regularly. he would drive it more but teh triple plate OS Ginken is tough on the legs in OKI traffic ;> this car is one of the fastest cars on the raod but there are many catching up quick used to be no one would race this car as it would be a waste of time and gas for anyone but the skyline. This is why the owner sold it i believe but now ive heard from rick, that more and more he has to launch the car hard to stay even or eek out the win ;> GOD I MISS OKINAWA!!!!!. can you amagine a 800hp motor in a Z thats streetable on pump gas!!!!!! I CAN :>
  22. minus the bars that go thru the passenger area this is the cage i want to build this is the part i like
  23. All i can say is WOW these wheels rock!!!! and of course with just about any wheel that catches my eye right off the bat is expensive as hell 400 + per wheel but can be built to your specs in sizes 15-17 inch
