  1. Mine are more exhaust ducts than scoops...tried to take a picture but there were too many people walking around... Owen
  2. The Datsun manuals have a spec and also show a tool to use, a spring loaded thing with numbers on it that shows how many pounds, etc. Hey, is this and what was suggested above done with or without the caliper bolted in place and tightened down? Owen
  3. I agree, EFI is easier for me too. I've never even owned a carbed vehicle (except the Z which was only driven home from where I bought it). Add up the stuff like Tim said and you'll see it really adds up...hey, there's a complete EFI'd motor with trans and programmable EFI setup in the Complete Engine classifieds! What a steal!!! Owen
  4. Damn that sux, I remember a year or two ago I posted this question and you advised me how to fix it too! I also threw the thing in the oven and then was able to install it no probs. Hope it works out. Owen
  5. Damn good! Much better than my attempts 3 years ago. I gave up on this until I saw your post on the cheap LEDs and immediately ordered a set. They will probably sit for another two years until I re-start the project..LOL. Owen
  6. If I have to, I will do (in the browser) CTRL+A, CTRL+C, and then CTRL+V into Word. The spacing gets all screwed up tho...need to adjust the margins. I only do this when a link gives me a javascript popup that I can't Save As. But why Word? As mentioned above, Save As is your best bet. Word docs are so bulky space-wise and Word just sux in general. For multiple pages, like the threads here, use copy the title (no ? marks, etc) Save As and then paste it into the "file name" section, add a number, etc. to the end of the file name to keep the pages in order. I do this with everything now as stuff disappears off the net without warning. Another option I hate to use is printing to PDF via something free like Virtual PDF Printer. Good luck! Owen
  7. Terry, you're still the official "shocker" here! Owen
  8. Glenn is right, a lot has been deleted. I've even challenged people here to find the thread for me with no luck. A popular mods section would be a good idea, I like the part of things being OKd before allowing to be posted there. Owen
  9. The search sux, it's a fact and I hate it...what we need is something like a menu (like the forum list we have but more condensed) and direct links to someones site. What I don't like about a forum is that stuff gets pushed down further and further, and even the stickies becomes a long list...is there anything that can be done??? Maybe a list of popular mods and their websites, something like, Z32 calipers on a early Z - Stony or MikeSCCA Adjustable rear toe - Terry Oxandale Twin turbo V8 - Hanns etc etc Owen
  10. Can't remember the part number but if you buy my engine and trans from me I will open it up and tell you Mines the McLeod steel flywheel. Owen
  11. After more research, I found that #1 is idiot lite (optional) and #2 is hot. #2 can be connected to the bat terminal on the alt, to the battery, etc. But Mad Electrical suggests hooking it up to the positive power distribution block for proper remote sensing. This is what I am doing. Owen
  12. I've been researching this too and found that the net said #1 needs to be switched and #2 is the sensing wire for the idiot light. There was another post on the 3-wire alts and it seemed that remote sensing is the best thing. Either way, is #2 for idiot light AND sensing? I need to know this tonight. Thanks, Owen
  13. I've seen a couple PMs and emails in the past about moderators being overly harsh or just downright childish. Well...fortunately (unfortunately?) I have some photographic proof of this happening. I am not going to name names, but the license plate should tell all....tsk tsk! Towards the bottom of the page, http://homepage.mac.com/toshikato/405-Z/PhotoAlbum18.html Owen
  14. Getting out of your bucket seat, harness, and rollcage with more ease? What they need is something to stop people from hitting OUR doors! Owen
  15. Any alarm would work, if you have an electrical fuel pump with your carbs, that would be the starter kill (or hook it up to your starter relay). Owen
  16. I can't believe how cheap that is! Do you think the medum duty rod ends would be sufficient? Also, do you have pix of how you mounted the TC rod/bracket to the stock locations where the bushings used to be? Owen
  17. This time I didn't hit "quote" and my post ended up as #62 (see far right). Let's see what this one becomes, #65 is the last one here. Owen
  18. Interesting how my reply to Mike went up there...must be a new function of the "quote" button. Anyway Jon, I the link didn't work. I went back the root server directory but couldn't find the part. I just call it a "j-arm"! http://www.stockcarproducts.com/susp2a.htm No picture but there's a pic on pg 39 of their catalog. Re-searched Afco and saw the assemblies $37 complete!!! WTF? That aluminum tube would need to be replaced I bet...and the rod ends are medium duty. 74_5.0L_Z, I noticed you used the swaged tube, aren't those weaker than a straight tube? So...back to the topic of control arms, where do I get a 3/4" turnbuckle? Owen
  19. Do these things work??? I need one but am wary of being ripped off.... Owen
  20. I downloaded the Accord manual from http://www.hondahookup.com/manuals/ there's a separate unit controlling the intermittent. Owen
  21. Yeah, I tried threading the TC rod by hand and the die wouldn't go down straight...sucks. Maybe those j-bars and get them threaded. Owen
  22. It ain't gonna fit, not with the hood + tools, etc! Thought you already had a block? Owen
