  1. Who cares who our next governor is? Either one of Dave Greimanns dogs would make a better governor than Gray Davis. Davis blames wealthy republicans for his recall, but he fails to note that 1/3 of the names on the recall petitions are democrats.
  2. Thanks Steve, This is what I had presumed but I wanted confirmation.
  3. What's up with that? When I did the swap in my '73 it had one wire to the gauge. Now I'm doing a swap on a '78 and it has two wires. One goes through the firewall and the other goes to the batch of relays on the passenger side fender well. I only need the gauge to work. Do I need both wires? Both wires are yellow/black. Thanks, Dan
  4. Hey Guy, about that wire on the alternator, did you install a resistor in series with that? I'm looking at the Helm manual and it shows a 470 ohm resistor in the circuit inside the instrument cluster. Mine is a '95, is yours the same way? Dan
  5. Called today. They said that's the way they make them. They guarantee them not to leak. We'll see.
  6. If you're going to paint them black why not just leave them off. Same look, less hassle.
  7. My bad, Sam FREEMAN. http://zparts.com/inprogress.html Scroll down to the bottom of the page 'til you see a yellow convertable. This kit comes in stages. The full kit includes frame rail stiffeners with subframe connectors, sill stiffeners that triangulate the sill to the rear wheelhouses, as well as a transverse stiffener behind the seats.
  8. I have my doubts about the benifits of that plan for frame strengthening. I think Sam Friedmans kit is much more substancial and has better engineering behind it. I do like the fuel filter relocation though. Much handier to get to there.
  9. Last I heard of Lone he sold his Zcar to Van a.k.a. Two40MuscleZ. Lone moved to AZ and bought a Toyota. Does he still have his Harley? Does he still weld without eye protection?
  10. The pics didn't come up here but I saw a couple in your personal album. How well does it work? Is it a nice smooth linear action? Get that thing movin' and your first road trip needs to include the Antiock bridge!
  11. Joe, a.k.a. JoeinCA, came by today and we got to talking about headers. I was showing him the Patriot ceramic coated ones for the LT1. As I looked at them I noticed that although they have the correct part# stamped on them they are not D shaped at the flange. In fact, they dip so far below the bottom edge of the port on the heads that there is only about a 1/16" of mating surface that the head and the header share. I called Jegs but they had no answer for me other than to give me the phone# for Patriot. I'll call them on Monday but I was wondering if anybody here has had this problem. Did I get missmarked headers or is this just a poor design?
  12. Great info Mike. What year/model Integra? Have you hooked it up to the peddle yet? How's the operation? Pop out a few pics. This could save me a trip to Home Depot and the bicycle shop!
  13. I've done the TPI and i'm doing a LT1 right now. I can say from experience that the wiring for the tpi is easier. Both motors bolt in with the JTR kit unlike the LS1. LT1 makes more ponies than the TPI and you don't need to mod the hood latch. There are issues with the bracketry on the LT1. No one's found a cheap way to add A/C to the LT1 yet.
  14. What kind of motor(s) is(are) that(they)?(?).
  15. O.k. Tim, You convinced me. You and that stack of Ben Franklins. Delete A/C.
  16. Watch out for Scottish ricer gangs in your neighborhood. I wonder what his "pipes" look like, laddie?
  17. Thanks, I found it, page 52. I e-mailed them about pricing. Hope to get a set of tpi/tbi brackets before the weekend. If I do I'll let you know how they work.
  18. Thanks John, $700, ouch! Does the Street & Performance set-up us the stock LT1 accessories? How do I get their catalog?
  19. Thanks guys, The pics really help. I was thinking about the tpi brackets too. I'm going to see if I can pick some up and give it a try. The compressor and alternator are different than the LT1 so it looks like those will have to be swapped too. Got links or pics from the March and Street & Performance brackets?
  20. I've been searching the posts and this looks bad. Does anybody know of a bracket set-up at ANY price the will work? I need to drive the alternator and the A/C compressor only. A serpentine belt would be prefered but I'll consider V belts. I'd like to hear from you guys that actually have this working. Thanks, Dan
  21. Yup, those pesky knock sensors get in the way. You can move it to about anywere on the motor or bellhousing. I can't remember were I put mine, but I do remember retapping the hole to match the threads. While we're talking LT1's, the A/C compressor is going to hit the JTR mounts. If I change from the F-body brackets to Corvette brackes will it solve this?
  22. Do you have a jtr book? The 7th edition has a good write-up on the T5 and details as to how to modify the Camaro slave cylinder. One glaring misstake in it though is master cylinder size. A 3/4" bore will NOT work. Follow Daves list and buy the 7/8". The other option that Dave didn't mention (surprising because this what he used) is a hydraulic throw-out bearing kit. Mo money, but a cool set-up. When you do your serch you will find an excellent thread where Dave explained his install in great detail with pics, part numbers, and prices. He's already practicly written a book on it so don't be put off by the suggestion to use the search button. Good luck.
