Woo Hoo, Getting my 280ZG next week !! May be 56k compatible
savageskaterkid replied to EZ-E's topic in Non Tech Board
I think the car looks awesome as is. And I like the wheels too, good style and flows well, maybe just a bigger sized wheel, but the same style. -
new pics and video of my turbo 280zx!
savageskaterkid replied to b__sosick's topic in Non Tech Board
now when you say supra intercooler, which model are you reffering too? If your getting a good deal, its probly an 87-92 MK3 supra intercooler. My friend has one in his 87 supra, piece of junk is what it is. I think it has like a 3-4psi loss at stock boost(correct me if I'm wrong). Meaning that if your running factory boost(6.7psi) then the turbo itself is boosting at more like 10-11psi. If it is an MK3, don't buy it. -
Your Wife or GF Support Your Habit?
savageskaterkid replied to Scottie-GNZ's topic in Non Tech Board
The g/f helps on the Z. She was the main helper in the N/a-T conversion. When I wasn't driving she provided the transportation to True Value Hardware store and advance auto parts. Depending on the day that could have been 2-3 times a day going to the shops for parts. The one part she didn't like is when I get P-Oed and starting yelling and throwing stuff-but we eventually worked that out. When I'm about to get mad, I tell her to go inside and stay there till I say otherwise-it works out quite well. I'm trying to convince her to take the Z to the drag strip, shes considering it. -
V8 Z needed for pinks ?
savageskaterkid replied to crazy canuck Z8's topic in Gen I & II Chevy V8 Tech Board
So technically, if we got Rusch Motorsports to sponser, we could call it a "shop car" although not really built in shop. I too like the idea of an RB powered Z on pinks. -
V8 Z needed for pinks ?
savageskaterkid replied to crazy canuck Z8's topic in Gen I & II Chevy V8 Tech Board
How about this, and yes-I'm VERY serious. Let me begin by saying that I liked the idea of a HybridZ pinks, but I didn't like the outcome, with a few extra days or so, I believe we would have won. I am all for a sanctioned build, where the admins and mods make the final decisions on everything while still taking opinions from members. But with the build being maintained by the admins and mods, there is almost no chance of error. Now that I said that, here is what I have to offer. I live fairly close to Mike Kelly, who is an admin. As long as everyone would be up for another donation based group build, and if the admins want to pursue a PINKS 2 build, I think we should do it. That being said, I AM WILLING TO DONATE my shell to the cause, as long as if we win(more like when we win)that I can get the shell back. I'm not trying to be greedy and get whatever goodies get put into it,you guys can take all that stuff back out when your done with it.(I wouldn't mind a solid rear though:P) I would just like the car back, but if we loose its not a big deal. The car itself is in fairly good condition, doesn't seem like its been wrecked, maybe a fender bender at one point, but the frame is straight, and solid. It has a very little bit of rust, but not major rust. The body is straight and solid, has a few dings and dents, but again, nothing major. Let me know what you guys think, and we'll see if it can get worked out. -
Teaser pics of new L6 turbo setup
savageskaterkid replied to savageskaterkid's topic in Nissan L6 Forum
While lookin at the setup as it sat, my wastegate will not fit at all(50mm HKS) So me and my friend had an idea, why not flip the turbo over? We did it and mocked it up and that will give us a good 3-4 inches of room for a spacer where we can mount the wastegate. It shouldn't make be too hard to do now. I plan to run the intake piping upto the cowl and get fresh air from there. And the down pipe will go mostly straight down till it clears the frame, and then back like normal. Gonna go mock it up later this week, and see if it clears the intake. -
I didn't want to give away what my post was about till someone actually opened it. My fault.

HELP! Where do we start on the father & son project?
savageskaterkid replied to whyrualive's topic in Body Kits & Paint
They may be refering to drop in bedliners that will rust underneath. This is actually sprayed on like paint. It looks like a very ruff textured paint-Its not really a first choice if your looking for the best looking finish, but its for the undercarriage mostly, or under the carpet-its RARELY seen. -

Is there a reason why nobody seems to be using the Holset H1E? -

yah, after I canned the idea, a friend of mine offered me a 305 for $50 bucks. All it needed was an intake and carb, and it was running soon before. But I have a bit invested into the L28e(t) now, so I'll stick with it. -
HELP! Where do we start on the father & son project?
savageskaterkid replied to whyrualive's topic in Body Kits & Paint
If its on a rotisery(sp?) already why bother just painting it with black undercoating. Go with a truck bedliner like Line-x, its nearly indestructable-it is a bit heavier then regular paint, but you'll NEVER have to worry about rust if you prep it and apply it right. I saw a presentation of it on TRUCKS TV and it was awesome. They threw a Cinder-block off a 2nd story ledge and it shattered. Then they got another Cinder-block and sprayed it in line-x. Threw it off the same ledge and it bounced-didn't even crack. They said that even the military is using it for bomb shelters and such. -

Its a holset H1e, its pretty huge. I got it for 80 shipped to my door. The guy said that it needed a new compressor wheel(got one on the way) and that it does have a bit of play. When I first got it, I noticed, it has NO PLAY. The guy also stated that it had low miles with low boost. The exhaust housing isn't even rusty, its very nice. For all of about 110 invested, its basicly a new turbo. I will have to clock both housings though. The oil feed and drain face sideways(feed points to the block, return to the strut tower.) From what you can see in the pictures, everything fits, and it does clear the intake and everything. -
Those are some HUGE gauges

after I did a compression test and such, found out my motor wasn't shot. So I decided to mess with the L a bit more, I plan to blow it up and do a performance rebuild. But I am considering an RB25 swap now. The real reason for no V8 is the fact that there getting expensive near me. Everyone wants like 500 for a CORE, not even a full motor either. -
And incase you want to know the turbo.......

I know this is a good idea for the garret turbo, I found this out the hard way by blowing oil out the seals. But what if I were to be using it on a diffrent turbo. Such as a holset H1e, would that need a restrictor since it is a bit bigger then the T3?

I used to suffer from daily migranes, it happened everyday for a few years, its was horrible. The first thing that they thought was a brain tumor or cancer. I too was a guinee pig, test after test all the time. MRI's, catscans, and a bunch of others. Eventually I was in gym and somehow bashed my head into the ground, and it made my migrane about 10 times worse. Next day, I had no more. I have had a very few since then, about 3 years ago. The worst thing about it was, that when I really needed migrane meds at school, they wouldn't give it to you. Sorry for the loss.

O, don't worry, the other one-the Z-is getting modified quite a bit now. It should be ready to run high 12's by december. I have the deadline set for december 2nd or 3rd. Me and my buddy with a 7m supra made a bet, that whoever makes the lowest horsepower on the dyno that day, has to pay the dyno fees for both. Nothing major, where just talking about a single pull, but its a nice little bet though. Niether mine, nor his has ever been to the dyno, so everything is best guess right now.

Parents didn't buy me the tattoo, the girlfriend did. But I do somewhat understand where your coming from. On a side note, I did find out why the car is cutting out at idle-the PCV hose was loose on the intake, fixed that today and idles great. My motor and trans mounts are bad too, all of them, that is the problem I am having, the trans itself is good. The motor will rock about 6 inches to a foot when put under load.
