  1. LD28, might want to change it. Some take offence to the wrong spelling.
  2. Please fill this out: Age:18 Single/Married:Single Car:78' RED 280z Infractions:1 speeding ticket Location:Virginia Provider:USAA Coverage:Liability Cost: $89/month Actually, I just relized that at the moment I do not carry insurance on the Z, for its in pieces. But my insurance company doesn't care what kind of car it is as long as its liability. I used to pay $120 on whatever I drove. This included a 93 sentra, 93 mazda truck, 81 ZX, and when I had the 78' Z it was the same. When I setup my own account it dropped $31. Next time I redo my insurance plan(4 months) My insurance is supposed to drop another 20-25 dollars, because of good grades and renewing the term. USAA is great, if you or your parent were in the military, then you should deffinitly try to get it. If they have a good year, they'll actually send you money back instead of enrichining the pockets of the president.
  3. Front end of an FB RX7, with the back of a Z and a second set of doors. With some taillights that remind me of bmw?
  4. couldn't something like a corvette transaxle work then?
  5. I just went to the local custom hose shop. Took the fitting off the oil feed line on the block and the banjo fitting on the turbo. I think I got a 5' line hose made and just routed it behind the motor. It was $60, but well worth the money. Its braided stainless and has the right fittings and looks 150% better then a stock piece.
  6. You sure this is right? Because if I took that formula and switched it, I could use in reverse. PSI divided by 14.7= C.R. My compression numbers came out to 150 across the board. Divided by 14.7 and I get about 10:1. Does this sound right for a stock N42/N42 motor? I think the formula is wrong.
  7. that would be way more then helpful. I've searched everywhere and cannot find anything.
  8. Police cars go throught lots of maintainance just to make sure that they'll stay on the road.
  9. Depending on how "cheap" your talking, I would buy a header. Even if its mild-steel it will definitly outflow the stocker. And look quite a bit better.
  10. I tried those searches, and a few other words, but no maps at all.
  11. By anychance you haven't been able to find maps for either one of these turbos have you?
  12. I don't understand. So somebody else did the swap before you bought it? Or did you? I am not questioning your work, but the parts. How exactly did this work, unless you run low RPMs all the time. With the N/a AFM it WILL NOT revv past 4k rpm. Trust me, I didn't believe it at first when I heard it, but i walked outside and started the car, revved it up and hit 4k rpm and it just redlines. Are you sure it wasn't a turbo afm, or even an N/a afm with turbo guts?
  13. I too wonder about coating the inside? My turbo is in mint condition(ie. No rust) and I would like to coat it if possible to help with efficiency, and prolounge the life of it.
  14. Ford is trying to copy the camaro somewhat, atleast thats what i see
  15. don't quote me, but i've been told ford uses the A/c to chill the intake charge on the SVT lightning, but it only works for a few seconds, just to give you that extra kick.
  16. I would be very interested up untill a certain point in pricing. Can you give an estimate of price and time. Then I'll be able to make a real decsion.
  17. Hmmm, the H1C looks exactly like the H1e, but my H1e didn't come with a V-band type exhaust housing. Its a four bolt flange. Do you know the differences beteen the E and C?
  18. unless your going with massive horsepower, stick with the stock cam.
  19. I thought one of the biggest benifits of Methonal is that you can run in on a higher compression?
  20. I don't think I would put tripple carbs on an L28e, fuel injection and carbs are two diffrent things.
  21. I looked at doing two 4.3 vortecs in the Z just cuz there easy to find around me, and fairly cheap to build. Nice aftermarket too.
  22. I don't doubt it now, I would have a few months ago though.
  23. Someone tried to setup a race against the Z today for when it gets out on the street again. Turns out its a festiva with a 323 motor in it, what are the odds that the Z might go against a festiva with that motor. While another Z guy is building a festiva with the same motor.
  24. Why not run methonal? Or is this as a daily driver type thing? 15:1 and meth would do pretty nice. I came close to doing a methonal injected turbo L28, but in VA its 5.75 for street legal meth.
  25. I can't so but so much cuz my setup hasn't been fully assembled, but the desktop dyno program says that I should be around 290hp at the crank, which IIRC is like 250 at the wheels. Seeing as a stroker setup can be expensive, you can do an L28et for pretty cheap. My first setup was a few hundred dollars, and that was all stock stuff, and it HAULED ass, till it snapped an intake stud and blew the gasket. That setup was good for like 220 at the wheels. And everything was pretty much stock turbo stuff on the N/A motor. Since I had to strip the motor again I decided to just get a Holset turbo, SRT4 intercooler, 60mm TB, and MSnS, something tells me that I'm forgetting a few parts, but all of it was relitively cheap, with the exception of MSnS which was 400, but that was assembled with the harness made for the L28et. Get an N/a motor and turbo it.
