  1. Added this mod today and I'm wondering how much extra horsepower I have now:confused2 : Now that I'm starting to drive my car around I figured I should give credit where credit is due.
  2. Makes our projects look pretty lame in comparison:redface: .
  3. Having wind noise almost non-existent and AC sounds like a good plan to me. I'm pretty sure I'm going to go with AC at some point as well. It's on my list, but there's still a few other items above it...finishing the interior, body work, paint, etc.
  4. I'm running cat-less and all emissions have been programmed out of the PCM, but I am running the O2 sensors. John did a great job and after viewing his work, I know I made the right decision having him fabricated the system. I actually wanted dual chrome resonator tips on each side, but the ones I bought were too long. I still would like to install some nice tips once I find one's that I like.
  5. Not quite sure on the ohm range but from what I've read it's something like 40-240 ohm, and I haven't quite decided how I want to proceed with the fuel gauge. Supposedly I should be able to get an Autometer gauge that will work with this sending unit, but I wonder if there's a way I could swap in my datsun sending unit to work with my stock fuel gauge. Obviously this is something I still need to sort out.
  6. I need to make one and get it posted. I'll try and get it up in a couple of days.
  7. Okay, here's some pic's of my filler neck installation. It could still use a little more work, but here's what I have for now: This first shot shows the access via the stock Z access door. The clearance is tight, and the new cap won't fit as it is right now. My tank came with a cap that had to top part removed, so at least for now it works. The shot above shows how I routed the neck to the side of the existing opening (I plan on putting in a piece of sheetmetal to block the opening). This allows enough clearance for my exhaust below. Here you can see the fuel hose to the tank and the clearance to my exhaust.
  8. Here's a few shots of my completed dual 2.5" exhaust on my LT1. I used ThermalTech coated headers an X-pipe and Afterburner mufflers. John Coffey at Beta Motorsports did all the fabrication and installation, and he did a great job! I installed a rear skirt from MSA and got my rear European bumper installed as well. It sure would be nice to get my carbon fiber tail light panel .

  10. It was a great event with good food, good conversation, and of course Hanns' DVD:redface:. Thanks Tim.

    More Progress

It's taking a lot of bends to make it fit.
  12. I don't remember exactly, but I seem to recall the end couple of coils looking closer together than the coils in the center. Looking at the picture at the auction it's difficult to tell. It could be that I just I read about it being progressive (after I won the auction, but before I installed them) and then just called Tokico to confirm.
  13. wheelman, It looks like you're not the only one who thinks the springs makes a Z too low. At first I thought this auction must be from you, but the seller is in Jew Jersey. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7981980172&category=33582
  14. Are there problems with the email server? My emails have stopped again.
  15. Nice clean look! I don't know how much it has to do with the color, but the lines look nice and long and the car in general looks very uncluttered.
  16. Grumpy, How in the world are you able to get anything done when you spend so much time researching (and luckily for us posting) all this great information? You must be well organized to be able to somehow quickly gather and post this data. My hats off to you, and if I ever come to Florida I'd love to see your cars and setup (just keep the alligators away...I think I saw one in the corner of your new garage pic:icon52: ).
  17. Thanks for all the positive comments! There are many great moments when doing an engine swap. When the engine started the first time I was as giddy as a school girl (I think I actually shed a tear:shock: ). Driving it around the first time was a big thrill, and that's when I realized puting a V8 in my Z was definitely the right choice for me. This most recent milestone was a big one, because now I now this car is very driveable. John Coffey is doing my exhaust and checking my alignment, and he already sent me a progress picture last night. Damn, I should have done more cleanup on the engine and transmission:toetap05: . I don't know about "hitting the track", I want my car to be a street car first. My next priorities are to finish the body and the interior.
