  1. Yes, that works well and you can use the QD push to lock fittings, makes connections a snap and they are re-usable. That is what is on semi-trucks these days. I always replace rubber hoses with pex whenever a have a hose break. Great stuff.

For distribution lines it pays benefits to use 3/4" max if you ever intend on using a 1" impact wrench. Most people do not so they go with 1/2" or 3/8". I used 3/4" but I need to use the big IR 1" impact, 1200 ft-lb torque on alot of things.

Your pressure will probably be 120psi max. Pex is rated to like 200psi at 75 degrees and about 180psi at 120 or so. I have never had a problem and it poses no danger unlike pvc which can have flying objects. My peterbilt has the governor set at 135psi and I have the compressor at my shop at 150psi.

  2. Sorry to hear that dude. Can't imagine that kind of results. What history does your doc have? Mine had over 14,000 procedures and no failures like what you describe. Most will redo it for free, check into that.

  3. Actually it was a joke. Again, you have user issues with your computer not the site IMO so I suggest you look for answers elsewhere since your question has been apparently answered by several people already.

  4. Actually I have no idea, I don't experience the problems your having so I would assume it has something to do with your browser settings/controls.

That seems to be the case since everyone doesn't share the same problem your having.

  5. Finally got back to the z! Whew, christmas was good. Hope yours was as well. No I didn't get any hotrod parts

I installed the high drum. You put the torrington bearing in needles down install the input shaft in the drum and install the high drum.

Then you install the low band. Pretty simple.

Next we have to install the pump and check clearances. If the clearances are ok, then we button the pump down and do the valve body and tail section. I'll take some pics tomorrow and add them so you can see what I did.

I will have to modify the pump for HP use, so I'll detail those mods as well before we stuff it in and check clearances.

  6. I think the only drawback compared to a newer GT Mustang 302 is that a 70 302 has the distributor in the front (like the Chevy) while the newer 302 can be set back further in the frame for better balence.

Chevy doesn't have the distributor in the front.

  7. It's all serviceable. Use and old ring to shave the tight ring lands by rolling the ring in the groove like a tire in the track. Ring in one hand, piston in the other. The nicks, just take a jewelers file and touch up the one that wont let the bearing sit, you'll be fine. Pretty minor marks really, the piston is no big deal, if your really worried about it buy one piston.

  8. To be honest This is my 2nd hy35. I had to put 2 rear oil seals in the 1st that I cooked,( welded the seal to the shaft) and I'm on my 2nd in this one.( by seal I put new bearings in also) I got the gt35r because its a bad ass turbo, and longevity. The coolant cooled part really sold me. I think the HY35 is made for a 600? deg diesel motor, not 1300?? deg gas motor? I think I was asking too much of the HY, and I hope the GT can take it.

I'm running the '87 300zx turbo LSD rear.

2 hours south to Temple. I should of called someone down there because the car was feeling great. But it was Xmas eve. night:icon_frow

No doubt delivering christmas to certain special people?!!! You Da Man!!!! Especially since you were doing it in the z sled! YeeeHaWWWW!

  9. Well, IMO I'd rather run into the open yard across the street than hit a car, but that is anyones decision. Most people panic and just hit the brakes. In any event most people don't pay attention to what is going on or what is around them while driving. Secondly they haven't been taught defensive maneuvers while driving. IMO if they had been paying attention, everything else would have been mute.

The other day I had a high end motorhome, diesel pusher, about 45 feet long pulling a hummer pull right out in front of my peterbilt which was loaded grossing over 90,000 with a Cat 140 vhp blade on my 3 axle 50 ton lowboy. Truck and trailer weighs 44,000 and the blade weighs 51,000.

Situation is on a 4 lane divided road I am headed north. Motorhome crossing from my left to right going into a gas station. No way to stay in my two lanes and stop. Would have hit the motorhome if I had hit the brakes, elderly woman on the passenger side was having a fit, elderly husband driver was oblivious. Traffic was light with one car in the outside lane coming south and no vehicles near me. I veered through the median opening that he came through into the inner southbound lane, stood on the brakes and stopped. Nobody hurt. I would have easily jumped the median if I had to. It is a decision you have to make quick and you can't steer when the brakes are locked up.

  10. If you think life is going to be fair you are correct. In the first days of adam and eve, it was fair to each of them 50% of the time. Today with over 8 billion people in the world it is fair to you 1/ (4billion) of the time. So if you blinked, which you probably did, you missed your opportunity. There you go again, you blinked yet again.

I doubt very seriously that you'll ever get the satisfaction you are wanting or think you deserve. It isn't about right or wrong, it is about time to quit wasting time and energy on something that is fruitless and move on down the road with a valuable lesson learned. It is called the wisdom of age and now you know why us mature persons don't spend alot of time dwelling on things like this. I said mature instead of crusty old farts for a reason. I know some crusty old farts and I am not one of them yet. LOL

    Have a good day!

  11. totally avoidable IMO. You can't steer when the tires are locked up. And if you hit a curb with the tire locked up there is no chance for the tire to roll over the curb which causes significant damage. 95% of all accidents are caused by driver inattentiveness. Both exibited that characteristic IMO. Therefore it was a totally avoidable accident IMO.

  12. IMO that is not the drivetrain it's actually your powerplant. Drivetrains usually don't have an intermittent hickup. If they do it is trying to seize or break something and there is considerable noise associated with it. It could be drive train but from watching the vid you have an ignition problem (most likely).
