  1. That looks to be a spinoff of the once popular SESCO engine developed back in the 60's, which is the v8 sbc chopped in half lengthwise. Using standard sbc cylinder heads and components was and is still competitive in the midget races. My cousin Chad Ward drives for Canaday brothers out of KC, MO and used to drive those midget cars early in his career. Truly amazing. Nice to see chevrolet developing one that looks to be based on the LS series head.
  2. Yeah, most everything is just a search away. 400 HP is a pretty decent build these days unless your trying to utilize stock heads. Probably the th350 would be the best option. the R200 rear end should do fine. Fun to build, fun to drive. Good luck
  3. IMO you'd probably sell more that are sbc than anything else. At least if you look at the web sites that sell v8 conversions, that is what is largely the most popular.
  4. Finally got off center and got something done. The roof frame is up and welded. Time for C purlin, then pro panel.
  5. I would like to see sbc inlet and outlet size, not sure if sbf is the same size or LSX series chevy , but to have all water necks as an option, perhaps with an additional charge or whatever. I like the universal fit idea, saves time, saves money. Now if you had the different water neck options on an order basis it should cover all the bases. Trans cooler I don't see a need for, I don't want my trans oil at 180 degrees temp to start with. Perhaps that as an option as well like most other rads. Just my $0.02 adjusted for inflation is now $1.29.
  6. That poses an interesting question to the turbo world. Take a look at this vid. This is a 10:1 turbo ford motor with an HP turbo kit, built or machined by Budlong Motorsports pushing over 1000RWHP. Car has gone in the 7's at Las Vegas, NV after Anthony sold it.
  7. The 108 will lope alot more than the 110, which lopes alot more than a 112 IMO. The 110 and 112 will provide a wider torque curve, but the 108, 106 and 104 will produce a narrower one respectively. IMO not knowing your intended usage, but based on your description only, I would go with the 110 LSA.
  8. You should have asked, I have 5 helmets all full face!! Did you get those heads fixed????? Oh, baby what a screamer that should be!!!
  9. Sad, I'll say a prayer. Thanks Casey for the ultimate sacrifice to preserve our freedoms.
  10. I'd bet $$$ on what the two above have said. Been there and done that. Mild detonation often doesn't leave tell tale marks like you think. The increased heat likely did what you see there IMO. Like I said, don't ask how or why I know. If it can be broken, I've probably already done it.
  11. You compile all the info, we'll take care of the FAQ part. Basically, it needs to be organized into V8 Engine types, then the types of headers in use, pro's and con's to each for different year z's. Or something like that anyway. The thread should be titled appropriately as well. Something like Headers for V8 swaps. We have different V8 categories as well so something to fit each category would be nice.

GI Jonas, somehow I figured you would say something like that. Just depends on the situation I guess, sometimes it just rubs me the wrong way, and I'm sure it does others as well. Kind of the point of the thread isn't it. On a lighter note, the stinky stuff, $hit, should be a word reckognized for common usage in the english language. Your either doing it, taking it, giving it, pointing it out, actually in it, watching it, enjoying it, can't believe it, etc. etc. Just kidding. Kind of ironic how it's used alot in some circles though. I have friends in low places, what can I say, I'd name names but you all probably know them already. Reality though it is typically used when you run out of other words normally used or somethings are just beyond description. I don't have a very good command of the english language like my mother does and would like me to have. Getting back to the point of the thread now. Anyway, If I have offended anyone with any vulgar or other use of words deemed inappropriate, I apologize. Feel free to PM me at any time, I'm not quite as big of donkey as you may visualize. Thats about all I have to say about that, so I'm done.
  13. I've bought some stuff from CNC motorsports, top notch IMO. Very good place to buy from.
  14. That's where I have the advantage. My motor is in Doc's position and nobody elses, since I make my own mounts. The new z is going to use a mid motor plate as well, so I'm not particularly concerned at this point.
  15. Assuming that the block was correctly honed with the proper finish stone and cross hatch for chrome rings, no, there is nothing you can do. Chrome rings were and are typically used in environments where some dirt is going to enter the induction system. IMO the bores wear more in this case when using chrome rings. Just my experience mainly in quads and bikes.
  16. The local speed shop, alb., sells something like that, but they don't fit angle plug heads like I have. Those look like the angle plug heads won't work very well IMO.
  17. Somebody should really research it, post it and we'll make it a sticky. I dare any of you to get that done for us. Double dare you.
  18. Nope, it's not the fastest z. I think Jap Tin has the franchise on that for all motor at least here on hybridz anyway. Also on hybridz Ripnz for RB turbo, Zgad for 2jz turbo, probably Timz for L28 turbo, Turbomeister for turbo V8. There are alot more too that I haven't mentioned as far as engine types go. All of the z's are really impressive in their own right and the owners are truly great people. You don't have a comprehension of how fast "fast" is until you've gone 9 seconds or faster, once you do then the reality of what it takes $$$ wise and knowledge wise, are yet other aspects IMHO.
  19. Complete slacker today, put up a basketball goal for the boy, which was the main reason for the 20' apron in front of the shop, played alittle hoop with him. Lucky little turd. Going seadoo'ing at the lake tomorrow! Ordered the PG parts today, got the 10 clutch high drum, vasco jet turbo spline input shaft, dual o ring servo, roller tailshaft support, transbrake and master rebuild kit with a kevlar band. Working on getting and edge blower nitrous converter off ebay, we'll see.
  20. Burp! Eh Burp! Just waiting for my stimulus check. You know to get stimulated. Actually, my plan was to have Mobythevan come down and tune it for me for the most part. He's a megasquirt guru as opposed to me
  21. Ok, rusty block included, 400 4 bolt main.
  22. Cool, wish I had all that equipment. I have enough I think, naw, I'm dreaming again. Great for the DIY, cheap too IMO.
