  1. Dude, you're just saying that because he got a BA at 19. "Set up a goal and works toward it", that's not how it works, you gotta know what you really want first. I got a friend who's been co-oping since he's in college, he's the calculating, concentrating career type, that's because he know what he wants. He's in USA getting MA. prolly graduated now. Even a charging career type like him once confide in me "I might have picked the wrong profession. If I can do it all over again...." Then I have another friend, graduated with a BA in math. He thought he got his career figured out when Quixtar hit him, "This is what I am going to do" and you can really see the Quixtar flame in his eyes. Now he doesn't mention Quixtar anymore. He's going nowhere because he isn't sure what he wants. Then there's a friend of my dad's. He became a doctor as his parents wished. Now he's near 50 and he said he would rather do what he liked if he were wise enough to defy the parents and choose what he wanted. Unless you already know what you want in life already, there will be EXPLORING. Not everybody moves out alone to a big city at 16 and became a rock star.
  2. Brad, I had to disagree with some minor details, and forgive me to get the chemistry straight here. Naval jelly is basically phosphoric acid plus gelling agent. Phosphoric acid is a rust remover just as naval jelly is a phosphoric acid treatment. Rust converter are tannic acid plus other acids, IIRC, it uses some sort of chelating action to convert the rust.
  3. (covering his nose) mmm mu gooh! wu fed mitz WEHOINESS!!! (translation : Oh my god! who said it's RECOILESS!!!)
  4. I want some too!!! I've been reading wangan midnight comics...I don't even know there are movies out there. Was the comic inspired by the movie or the other way around? Dave, Thanks for the intro. AK-Z has this intro linked in his signature and I watched it almost everyday! Now I can watch it anytime I want.
  5. No man read the title, it means your foot is smart.
  6. Acid dipping...very expensive. From the quote I got it costs about 3 times that of a whole car media blast and generally too destructive from what I heard. I seriously pondered getting a acid dip on my 260Z shell because I want to get total rust treatment/protection. The main problem is the "boxed area" of the body structure where acid can get inside but paint spray can't. My plan now is to media blast(already done actually), then two coats of rustbullet(next week), then the boxed area will be opened up for some holes and oil spray will go in.
  7. I did bought mine from home depot. If the rust is INSIDE the threads, then forget about it, you need something other than rust dissolver. Can you sacrifice one of the male/female fittings? like cutting a relief groove into the nut or something?
  8. Stress bearing parts usually get shot-peened (block, connecting rods), but isn't necessary. Piston you should leave as is. Like preith said, precision surfaces should not be media blasted. You can do the manifold if the media works well.
  9. Are your parts bonded together because of rust? Rust remover are used only for surface prep. If your parts are bonded together in some thick rust, then rust removers won't help at all. Any stronger acid will remove rust : strong vinegar, hydrochloric acid, nitric acid, etc. Most rust removal products out there use different combination of SAFER acids plus gelling agent(to make it stick well to surfaces), and color. Most rust remover contains phosphoric acid or oxalic acid. They are actually not strong rust removers but they are universally used because they form a protection when they come in contact with the base metal. This protection allows rust to be dissolved while stopping acid from eating away metal. So any brand of rust remover is fine, they all eat rust and protect the base metal. It all depends on how thick you want it to be; Some are thicker for sticking to large vertical areas, others are not so thick. Clean the surface so it's free of oil/grease/fuel before you apply. Your rust remover can't work if it is not in contact with the rust. If you have a thin-walled part that is heavily rusted, the part might become too thin or full of rust holes when all the rust is dissolved.

  11. Yep, displacement has nothing to do with number of cylinders. It's a "sweep volume" of all cylinders combined Some truck has a 12L inline 6, which work out to be 2 liter per cylinder. While on the other hand some race engines are low displacement V8s or V12s
  12. what a noob mistake. Here it is http://videos.streetfire.net/Player.aspx?fileid=932E6D3C-A0C9-4C0D-B499-75840E7B9CAE&p=0
  13. Congrats! It's only been 4 or 5 weeks since your car got totalled. Glad to see the whole thing worked out. Had what happened to you happened to me, I'd prolly do the same thing : get another one, start over, except I'll need more time to get over it. S30Z are just such magical cars.
  14. nononooo you didnt even spell anything wrong so your sissy like us to dont even try to hide now dunt be a stranger whats your horoscope sign
  15. They say the chance of bumping into one of the 399 Enzo's running on the streets in your life time is less than that of being struck by lightning. Here is a link to a video of a Enzo that is actually running on the highway. At 1:12~1:14, the Ferrari makes a peculiar noise as it speeds forward. When I watched this video, the server had to re-buffer every 3 seconds. I hope it is a temporary problem.
  16. Sorry to disappoint, guys. I was sending the video and it looked like it will take forever to upload into the email, so I looked around the page and it said I can't upload anything larger than 10MB.....lame a** yahoo. I still have the 57.1MB video, any way I can send it? Or ask the original poster to re-host it?
  17. The hybridZ email message system only allow texts to go thru, no files. The video file has to be sent thru regular email(like yahoo, hotmail,...etc), size is 57MB So if anyone wants the video, PM me to give me your email address. Or email me directly at mundane_rinpoche@yahoo.com
  18. Oh BTW, Who makes front clips(hood, fenders, etc all in one piece) for 1st gen Z? 90lb saving sounds sweet.
  19. There's a branch forum that is dedicated to megasquirt right here. http://forums.hybridz.org/forumdisplay.php?f=87
