  1. That's just beautiful, old meets new, but Sherwin Williams paint? This car belongs in the roller thread. Haha. This car is actually pretty ghetto for $12,000. Then again, what's the Canadian exchange rate right now?
  2. Isk, I've never been a huge Slayer fan, more of a pick and chooser, but I'll look for this song and give it a shot. I know what you mean about that eerie feeling though. I've been to some shows like that, it's f'in AWESOME. Not to hijack, but if you're in Seattle, you should check out http://www.jasonwebley.com cuz he lives up there. It's not metal, but I've taken metalheads, punkers, indy/emo idiots, hip hop kids, and my mom to see him and they ALL have loved the show he puts on. Go see a show if you can.
  3. I am all about suspension first. As long as your motor is tight and in good tune, it will be fun enough to get you by for a while. You can throw a mild cam in it for pretty cheap if you want a little bit of extra kick. I've always been of the opinion that all the power in the world is useless if you can't get it to the ground and that's all that suspension is: Gravity Assist.
  4. Mike, I think the work that you've done on your Zs is pretty sweet, and I'm a big fan of that BMW blue on "Ole Blue" I think that if you want something that will be a sort of calling card you have to keep it purposeful. I'm not a big tech guy, not enough knowledge yet, but I like to see a car that looks fast sitting still, but doesn't have a whole lot of Bling on it. I guess my first question for you would be, what model car are you looking to build?
  5. I work 40 hours, drive an hour each way, except for when I'm teaching a wheelie class. That's usually three days, sometimes four if it's out of town, and that works out to about 70 hours in 7 days. I used to work 4/11s and pull back to back weeks.
  6. Maybe people who don't ride bikes should start watching out for people who do. I ride, will continue to. My dad rides, my mom rides, I'm teaching my girlfriend. I've had friends resucitated on the table. I've had aquaintences not be, one was a hit and run. I also teach perfect strangers how to control their bikes. In Europe, everybody rides something, or has. As to your little buddy, if he gets a small bike for the first six months, under 600cc, he'll progress faster, and be much safer than most.
  7. There was a mustang on the hot rod power tour last year that had an LS1 in it. It was an 11 second car I believe. I can come up with one reason for doing something like that: Girl likes Mustangs, Guy likes reliability. Shrug.
  8. ZeeVette, I've been contemplating the number of hours that it would take to do exactly what you have with the rear end on my own 240. Any estimate? Many of the members here have posted worklogs, documenting mods step by painful step. Would you be interested in doing that, or even providing more details?
  9. Hmm, maybe this car belonged to James Bond-the ad says that it holds the track record at Oulton Park, and that's in England I believe.
  10. Dude, be different, don't put a corvette motor in a Z, put a Z motor in a corvette. They are way better. Ask all the guys at classic Z cars.
  11. It's probably lighter than your average new mustang on the track though. What are "Spontoons"?
  12. How much do you think that thing weighs though? It looks massive, and that's the era of aircraft carrier muscle cars too.
  13. I actually think it's kinda cool. Here's the link to the Ad, Veritech-Z wins, it is in fact a 72 351 Mustang. http://race-cars.com/carsales/ford/1076639389/1076639389ss.htm This outrageous looking one of a kind vintage road race car has great history having been raced all over Europe including the British BARC series driven by Roy Yates. This highly developed car was built for the British version of IMSA with the best engineering available at the time including aero development by the Benton F1 team. Extensive documantation is included with the car. It has been well developed and restored to race trim with safety and brake mods to bring it up date for historic competition (HSR Log Book and SVRA legal).
  14. Yeah, go to a car show guys, pick up a Car Craft, my first instict was it was a Mach1 Mustang. That Z32 is sweeeet, I've never seen that before.
  15. Might as well take advantage of a sellers market! Don't forget to put some JDM stickers on the intake.
  16. I actually have one of my dad's older drag race jackets. It's made by Worth, but after looking around on Google, I can't seem to find the company. Anyway, ebay is bound to have some older fire proof racing jackets floating around. Mine is blue and has two vertical white stripes going up the right front side. It is already decked out with his stuff though, and I think he'd die if I put anything other than a Chevy patch on it.
  17. Mat, how small are we talking? I ordered one that's 4.25 X 3 off ebay.
  18. When the movie came out I wasn't enough of a Datsun guy yet, I had one, but hadn't begun to fully immerse myself in the geekdom that is HybridZ. Haha.
  19. Thanks for posting that link Isk, I just ordered a couple. I missed out the last time around.
  20. I didn't know that it was a Z, pity they couldn't build it on an older chassis for smog reasons. That's probably the only Z that will ever see it's investment recouped though. Kudos to whoever built it on fooling millions of people. I recently saw, what I think was, a real 250 GTO, and they are almost exactly the same size.
  21. So I was sitting around my house today, watching Speed Channel and I after the Champ racing and celebrity Scion racing, came a show that I'd never watched before. Speed Test Drive features Danny Sullivan and some guy I've never heard of putting a Lexus GS450H through some serious work around Infineon Raceway. Apparently we were onto something with this whole Hybrid thing. Although not a necksnapping quick car, it's 5.2second 0-60 is nothing to sneeze at when you consider that this thing runs partially on electricity. Check out more about the car at http://www.speedtv.com/features/765/ I thought it was a pretty cool program, it's still on actually right now if you wanna check it out. Sacramento area channel 31.
  22. Was he driving a 69 Chevelle or something? Then it got set on fire and they went and dug up the football field and find a 55? chevy that belonged to the principal? Fast Freddy or something? If that's it, then I'm totally getting that movie off of Amazon. Oh, don't forget Corvette Summer with that totally sweet Candy Apple Red 240Z with Sidepipes! I own that movie and I love it.
