  1. Lame, but at least you already have the hard to get parts for a Hybrid close to hand.
  2. How do the 130s look with the bumper completely gone in front? I think it looks kinda cool on the s30, kind of angry and rough.
  3. Oh yeah, I saw, it's crazy. I completely support the guys problem solving capabilities and give him kudos for his success. Chocolate Peanut Butter Kudos even, like these; http://www.kudosbar.com/kudos/kudos_pb.htm
  4. After reading about that helmet on their site, that sounds like a pretty fair price. $20 under retail and only $1 for S/H. A Fiberglass and Kevlar shell is going to make it strong and springy, but a little bit lighter than a regular Polycarbonate or pure fiberglass helmet.
  5. My 280 costs me about $70 a month through AAA. Liability only, primary vehicle, I'm a 24 year old guy with two points. It's definately better to insure the older car as your primary.
  6. Extrude means to force out, I think you mean extended, unless you are planning on literally stamping out the factory fenders. English Nazi.
  7. The link you posted doesn't take you to a specific item.
  8. It's not that bad, but it is more than $2000 worth. You're looking more in the realm of $3500. Either way, the car is definately fixable. It's not that bad, it looks like you only hit the tire and not the wheel, so the front suspension and subframe are probably ok. Keep the TA, AND get a Z to "putter" around with in your spare time.
  9. Yeah, thanks for making me feel stupid. I'm going with my connection was idle, and it wouldn't link... Anyway, I like the second one best, but it DOES make the side windows look pretty big. I think the main reason the ZXs look so stretched out is becuase of the front bumper. If you compare Austenp405s sig pic to the pics you posted, it doesn't look quite so long. I think dropping the hood could look really sweet. The XKE was inspiration for the 240 after all.
  10. Ooooh, spiffy. I'll have to save up for one of those.
  11. That's okey ingenuity if I've ever seen it, but it's also something that looks like a lot of fun!
  12. Call me ignorant, but what's a Valentine?
  13. I might just buy some rustoleum and do the roll on method to my 280. I won't have it for much longer most likely, so it would be worth it to see how it turns out. But it wouldn't be for at least a month.
  14. The TK-8 is a good helmet for the dollar, but I don't think it's SA approved. Call KBC, or call Cycle Gear and make them do the legwork for you. http://www.cyclegear.com will tell you where the closest one is, and then you can pester them all you want. It's lots of fun. (I used to work there.)
  15. Haha, yeah, I suppose it would. It would also make people like me green with envy.
  16. I think I know where you're talking about, but don't remember seeing it there. There's one sitting in a field in Stockton, on Eight Mile Road between Hwy 99 and 88. I'd go ask the nearest house about it, but I have nowhere to store it, same as you.

Is this your car? PM me, I have a couple questions for you.
  18. I lowered the price on the car, it's in the classifieds.
  19. Well, we're talking apples and oranges though. I mean, it's not exactly "exotic" and it doesn't live up to the bodywork. Not that I'm insinuating his car is slow. It beats the peanuts out of anything I own.
  20. Rally stripes look good, but don't reverse it. I do have another idea for you though, what about painting the recesses on the air dam yellow to match? That way get integrate it into the yellow a little bit more easily. It's not as harsh.
  21. Gollum, can you make the pictures bigger man? It's hard to tell the difference. I agree with you, the ZX always looked to long and lopey to me. Like a dachsund or something... uh oh, here come the flames.
  22. Different states have different laws in regard to insurance. IF the car is totaled, which it may or may not be, the title doesn't necessarily become the property of the insurance company. In CA, if the car is totaled, you can buy it back, but it has a SALVAGE title, I think it's the same in TX. In CA, the title will ALWAYS be Salvage. Tell you insurance company that you want it fixed, it's probably not as bad as you think if you were going slow, and then you can sell it with a CLEAN and original title. Find similar or identical cars listed for sale and site them as the value of the car. It would be worth it to fight with them over the value rather than resign yourself to doing a Z project. Doing a SBC swap is not easy, nor is it something you can just decide to do. There are lots of hidden costs, as with any such project. I don't want to try and discourage you, but I'd try and fix my TA if I had one.
  23. Lunar, it's Oakley, I just moved from there. The car is probably abandoned. What I recommend is going and talking to the jobsite foreman and asking him what he knows about the car. Tell him you're trying to find the owner, and give him your card, and ask him not to tow it off to the crusher. Out of curiousity, where's it at?
  24. I had a $1.5m Arai once, but then I highsided my bike at Willow Springs and now it's only worth $750,000. Hahaha! Seriously though, $200 is cheap for a Snell certified helmet. Check out HJC, http://www.hjchelmets.com or KBC, http://www.kbchelmets.com They will have something in your price range for a fair quality helmet. KBC is the largest motorcycle helmet manufacturer in the world; they make most of the private label brands in the motorcycle industry.
  25. Off Topic, sorta Speeder, you have a car with that kinda body work and only a wimpy L6? I assumed there was at least a 350 under there. You don't do anything halfway though, do you? Have fun with that build.
