  1. UPDATE Played hookie from work today (i work for KSU, so its completely cool). It was waaaay too nice out to pass on this day. Here's a quick shot of the struts - yet to be sectioned While i had the diff loose for the RT mount I decided to do some cleaning and painting. Here's the Mustache bar (after cleaning and removal of those damn bushings!!!) Diff (pre cleaning) Here's what I coated it with. Duplicolor spray on bedliner. I LOVE this shet Diff after paint and the mustache bar re-installed with poly bushings, and those two other things coated. lol
  2. GREAT. The tokico Illumina shocks i ordered to complete my coilover setup are on national backorder - or thats the line i was fed by an ebay seller. I ordered them the 4th, and they FINALLY had the courtesy to tell me they were backordered yesterday, AFTER i emailed them asking where my stuff was. This is the SECOND company who has bent me over by not telling me they were out of a product, and selling it to me anyway! SO FRUSTRATING On a side note, I was able to get the strut tubes prepped for sectioning ( perches removed, paint removed, etc), but the tubing cutter i bought was too small , so thats as far as i got. (sorry no pics) However, I did get my Ron Tyler diff mount done, which i had a friend waterjet cut for me. shout out to aknovaman Tacked it while in the car Idk why there was so much spatter, it was a MIG with gas. I think because the metal was so clean, more of it stuck Also, the fuel system has been re-ordered, and should be here by the first of the week. Then it gets sent to the fab shop doing the tank, and it will be a week turnaround! Baby steps
  3. Also a $2500 set of wheels I'm glad someone can justify that, because I sure as hell cant.
  4. mmmm maybe if you snugged the tank all the way to the front, almost to the diff. these things are just kinda awkward. And to clarify, my mufflers will be in the tunnel, not out back (at least that's the plan now). So the actual mufflers will be before the diff, and then just pipes on out. However, it does make it sound different if you put the mufflers right at the tips, which i'll likely have room to do if i want. (see SLP powerflo exhaust for f bodies)
  5. I had my ls1 tank mounted, but i have since changed my mind. That thing is way big and awkward for the size it is. I'm going with a custom aluminum fuel tank (much cheaper than i first thought - ~400+pump+sender) So that will tuck the tank up excellently, and also leave ample room for duals, while still using the stock filler location, and having a 0-90 ohm sender. Basically everything i ever wanted!
  6. brand of tire makes the world of difference here. For instance, a 315 35 17 nitto drag radial is narrower than a 275 40 17 mickey thompson. while the 315 nitto street is like a bfg 315.
  7. 3" true duals. x pipe after tranny x member, then magnaflow bullets, then out the rear.
  8. permanant is a very strong word there...... I'd just black RTV it to the floor and forget about it. That way if you ever do have to take it off, you can
  9. like this? Found here http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/item/LRS-7277E/79-04-Mustang-Lower-Shift-Boot-With-Metal-Ring
  10. heres a pic Camaro shift boot I believe its going to be wide enough, but not long enough (front to back). thats just from my personal experience though. This should get you started. shift boots @ summit What's the hole dimensions? Then we could look it up
  11. So you're saying i should take the outers and inners off , and check for play in the rack itself before replacing anything? Makes sense, I just didn't know there was such a possibility for play!?
  12. Resurrection!! I'm looking for a source on the inner tie rods (either one) and i have yet to find any place that lists them, that actually has them. My suspension is apart right now. Is there any way i can check the inners without hooking up the outers? Thanks! UPDATE: I found this link http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php?topic=5773.0 That led me to google search "Rare Parts 26575" that led me to autozone inner tie rod but that's a drivers side. Will it work on both? Perhaps this is referring to a fairlady, RHD model?
  13. For future reference, thats the "mustache bar". Mine looks the same way. It's close to 40 years old! You'd be tired if you took 40 years of abuse too . Bushings like this are the reason I'm doing full poly all around. Should really tighten up the car as a whole.
  14. SO since i'm planning on doing 275 tires, I should probably look into a wider than regular zg flare solution? This is near the bottom of the list however, as there are much more important (powertrain) challenges.
  15. Is it actually called a dust boot? I'd like to buy one as well.
  16. I use peak for break-in, and mobil 5w30 after. Dex 3 in le trans. Basically how deep are your pockets?
  17. IT IS ALIIIIIVE!!!!! Today was quite productive. I went to my friend's house this morning, and we assembled my T56. He also has a press, so we were able to press out the spindle pin that i had to cut. It sounded like a .45 going off, but it came out. Afterwards, I sold some F-body parts (yawn) then got some advice from a friend of mine that does a ton of LSx swaps. Also picked up my RT diff mount pieces from the waterjet guy I know. Probably gonna try to get it welded up tomorrow. I've decided I'm going to do a custom fuel tank, the same as alanbion(sp?). basically an awesome setup. The list goes on!
  18. What rear end setup are you using? That thing MOVES!
  19. wtf i paid 875 like 2 weeks ago. Good for you i suppose
  20. Is it a flare size problem? Would i be able to dump it a little lower if i went with a larger flare? example ---->le flares I guess what I'm asking, is what flares should i go with? Ebay or Motorsport or The above option. FWIW, i plan on running motorsport's urethane air dam.
  21. Basically its a JCI or make your own type of affair. I WISH sikky made a set, because god knows they're light years ahead in technology than JCI.
