  1. Indeed I do, and it needs updated. I'll get some pics up here in the next couple days. ... This Organic Chemistry Lab / Lecture combo this semester is proving to be quite the commitment. ~6 hour PRE lab writeups, + 2-4 hrs post lab + lecture + recitation + the rest of school ! GAH so ready to be done //End Rant
  2. Well I did the first plug swap with the longtubes on. It was a breeze on the passenger side, and only slightly more difficult on the drivers side. All told, took me probably 20 minutes. The #5 plug is quite tight on clearance, and i think a 90 degree boot might be necessary to keep the wire off the header. I have my rigged right now, but its far from permanent. I'll post pics later.
  3. Damn that tank is sexy! is it internally sumped / baffled? (i assume) Also, what are the external dimensions?
  4. After some figuring, I'm going to go with a dual 3" setup, as the motor I'm planning for in the future will need a little more breathing room.
  5. Thats a lot of money for an old school SBC IMO. However, I'm not really down for paying a lot for 50 year old technology. I like my fuel injection. To each his own.
  6. As I'm sure many of you now know, I HAVE MY CAR BACK! I've started mocking up the rest of my exhaust system, which will include a true dual 2.5" out the back, with magnaflow bullet mufflers, and an H-pipe. I began by building my mock up mufflers to the exact size of a real one, with some scrap around the shop. Enjoy! Maganaflol The rest of my TO DO list includes: -Radiator and Fans -Finish Engine Harness -Install dash -Driveshaft -Rebuilt T56 (opened up my "pullout from running car" to find the 3/4 synchro hub in 3 pieces....... ) Sooooo i get to take a crash course on manual tranny rebuilds - pretty easy really, I've assisted with a couple, but this will be the REAL test -Brake system maintenance ( Flush, fresh pads/ shoes at a BARE minimum) ..... maybe reaction disk?? -Install transmission hydraulics -Inspect and test fuel system (relays, pump, regulator, check for leaks) -TIRES So needless to say, I have my work cut out for me. However, I have a guy buying my camaro friday, so I should have a little extra money to help ease the pain.
  7. Hello all! I am EXTREMELY pleased to tell you that i now have my 280 back in custody. As usual, I was blown away by the shop projects at 417. Another thing, I took my T56 out of the car today, and it was a breeze! It almost looks like there might be room for an auto as well?... more to come on that....
  8. here's what i bought..... http://www.speedwaymotors.com/LS1-Fuel-Filter-Regulator-Kit,41791.html

  10. The hold up has been out of 417's hands here. He has a couple sets welded up, but still waiting on the collectors. As of today, he expected them tomorrow. I'll be sure to post up any new developments.
  11. scares me more he's in KS. That's where I am.
  12. O2 sensors are a huge PITA in my opinion. I always have my tuner just use a wide band AFR gauge and tune the o2 sensors out. They're practically worthless being narrow band anyway. well that's my $.02
  13. this is a worthless thread.... even if it had pics. google images is the place for this ............jusssayin
  14. this thread makes my head hurt. Gen 1/2 SBC is COMPLETELY different than gen 3/4. vortec heads will only bolt onto an early (gen 1/2) sbc. In short, stick with the vortec heads.
  15. Make sure it has oil pressure (~60# at idle is good), and no strange sounds (however it will sound like a sewing machine - all LSX motors do). Other than that, for a donor, I can't think of anything major.
  16. Haha i was working on my camaro today, and the headers on there are also quite close. I think the starter will be just ok.
  17. a torch is your best bet for getting out a rusted bolt. Heat up the area around it.
  18. haha dang you Dave! always beating me to the punch!
  19. Haha that's hardly fair! My car is still at 417 motorsports !! Thanks for your input, and yes, I am looking to sell the GC setup now. I have one other person in line, but PM me and we can discuss. Josey
