  1. Check out Kodiak wheels. Kind of pricey and read other Hybrid feedback. But, http://www.kodiakracingwheels.com/prices.html if budget permits I will be ordering from Kodiak wheels.
  2. I have a 77 Z' and I had a problem with fumes. I Replaced the seals around the tail lights and plugged the holes utilized for the rear bumper brackets (rear bumper removed). Solved the fume problem.
  3. My advice !!! Go with Ross and Modern Motorsports adapters. I bought a set approx a year ago from another vendor with the claim " made to fit your spec and/or Datsun Z. Put them on the car 17 x7 wheel/ 215-40 17 tire, from 55 to 70 mph wheels would shake. Took the wheels/tires and adapters and put them on gary's Z and he had the same issue of shaking and vibration 55-70. I sold Gary the wheels/tires and he bought Ross's adapters and the wheel shake was gone. Some areas of your car, you can cut corners and/or look for a better deal, however with adapters rather Honda to Nissan, or 4 to 5 lug conversion, find someone that has them already and get some feedback. By the way I destroyed the adapters, could not return to vendor after the 30 day return period, and I was not going to sell something that possibly could have injured someone. This was a lesson for me.
  4. Mat73GNZ, You may want to take a look at a three point harness or seatbelt set-up from a Jeep Wrangler or CJ. Some configurations are set-up for rollbar mount or factory mount locations. They meet federal specs and requirements, but I do not if that changes if you utilize a jeep harness in a Z.
  5. I agree. The speaker location and this was more than likely a manual Z in its first life. But, it is still a very sweet Z. Also, are those hood pins ? The hood latch is moved over for firewall space, so is this a JTR or MSA engine mount?
  6. Nice Z !! Has been on sale for awhile - asking price was $20,000.00 or best offer. http://www.datsunrestore.com/datsun_nissan_for_sale.html
  7. OH MY GOD !!!!!!!! Did the mustang just go home ?????? I think the crowd were in shock.
  8. Georgia Flash 75V8, You have PM. I am good for next weekend. Thanks,
  9. Georgia Flash 75 V8, How far is Silver Creek from Hiram ???? I can assist with scraping knuckles on Saturday ??? This goes out to any of the Georgia Hybrid Zs. The wife and children let me have Saturdays for me !!!!! I am in the money saving stage for drivetrain of my swap so I have quite a few weekends free.
  10. Georgia Flash 75V8, I am on the same page you are on !!! I am turning 42 this year and this is my second Z ( my first with a V8 swap). Meeting some of the Georgia HybridZ guys last year just fueled the desire to take my car to the next level. For me, if my father or brother lived in Georgia my car would be half way completed. My dad drag race at Carlsbad in the late 60's and early 70's, and my brother is a Datsun 510 guru. However, I do live in a neighborhood with several car enthusiasts from a neighbor restoring 914-6 Porsche to my buddy across street who has restored his MGB and is now working on his 68 mustang (I help him, and he helps me with the Z). ihatejoo, It is cliche' "but reading is fundamental" I have and extensive Datsun Z library from "How to restore your Datsun" to the first two years of the old Z car magazine, Haynes manual, and "How to Hotrod and race Datsuns" and various Datsun and particular Z magazines. Websites, particularly HYBRIDZ !!! (turn your printer on and create you a folder and keep it organized. Also, read other car stuff like Hotrodding or Chevy Hi-performance. If you decide to do the swap yourself, the best advice I received from my father and his buddies-Make sure you follow the instructions and have the right tools for the job or task at hand !!!! In some cases you can rent tools, in other areas of the car you need a specific tool, so budget for you car parts as well as tools. Recognize what you can and can not do and seek out expertise and knowledge in that area of need. You will be surprised what you can accomplish, but again you have to read and research.
  11. http://album.hybridz.org/showphoto.php?photo=1536 Sorry,Battery getting low on laptop.
  12. ahyc84, You have a three piece spoiler with the screws removed from the end caps. It will fit on 240, 260 and 280 with bodywork and some massaging. I bought mine from Arizona Z car a while back and had to trim, and re-fiberglass in some areas. I attached to rear deck with E-6000 and pre-set some screws as well. If you do attached to your car make sure prep the surface a good epoxy primer. I will post try to post picture here or in album.
  13. Good morning or Good afternoon gentlemen, Maichor, you hit the nail on the head !!! My dad suggested I wait because sadly, a few souls will wreck there corvettes, Trans AM, Camaros and now GTO's. There are loss (hopefully not loss of life) are hot-rodders and Z owners gain.
  14. SuperDan, I say go for it !!!! My wife is turning me loose with funds in two-three months, so I am anxious to get working on the swap. I had and opportunity to purchase 327 / and WCT5 and I passed on it -- and I am glad I did because I am leaning more towards the LS1 route. Again GO FOR IT !!!! Good Luck
  15. I check on Ebay ( Particularly F-parts) to see what they have on auction. I wondered about the GTO LS1 accessory placement as well. E-bay also listed this GTO LS1: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33615&item=7955919107&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW As I am reading and researching (saving money !!!) and going with carbureted 350 and TKO 500 or 600 was the plan. However, the LS1 and particularly a LS1 from a GTO is very appealing. I will be diving in soon and I can not wait !!!!
  16. Sparks280zxt, This might be what you are looking for: http://www.zcarcreations.com/ Click on pdf catalog and bolt kits are listed. The other alternative is salvage yard, Victoria British and MSA. In that order prices go up.
  17. Davyz, Depending on your vendor, I know the BBS LM size (18 x10) for a street car can range in price from $955.00 - $1005.00 per wheel. The seller indicated that those are the race wheels, and not LMs' so I would ask the seller some specifics, and see what feedback you get. Good luck
  18. DavyZ, If those are BBS wheels on Ebay, that is a pretty good deal.
  19. Complete Custom wheels according to website are $1900.00 per set. ON3GO, has them on the Hulk Green 280z ( VERY NICE !!!!!) he possibly can fill you on specific details. http://www.ccwheel.com/street/files/wheels/spolished/main.htm#wheels
  20. Cyrus, Check this post out: http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=98486&page=2 1 tuff Z indicated he was running 17 x 9 wheels with 235/40-17 wheels-no flares.
  21. Congratulations on your purchase. I totally agree with zlalomz - A mold made of the kit you have and/or like Bob Hanvey's car could be profitable. The only other company that sell anything that "looks" like your car is showcars bodyparts up in Canada a company notorious and infamous for selling a bad product and having terrible customer service. The only body-kit that look just as good is the one that was on Bob Sharps IMSA 240z back in the early 70's.
  22. The first time I saw the car, I almost crashed my car !!!! Pure race/street car.
  23. I think Bob Hanvey is a member here and he purchase this car in Georgia. I know, because I took a look at the car when it was for sale (out of my price range). There are several links to photos of the car go here:http://www.geocities.com/row4navy/rb26swap/72Datsun.html The car speaks for itself !!!!!!!!!
