Have you look at collectorcartraderonline? I found my 77 Z, that happen to be right here in Georgia on that website got a good deal, and had several other choices within the state until I chose this car. Also, there are transport ads on the site if the car you buy is a good distance away from you. They change the search engine, so I think if you browse to "Dream /Browse" and then go to "Classic/Antique" then Datsun.

If that is a Greeenwood kit buy it $$$$ Trans-Am bodywork that is in pretty good shape? This is a race car site but it can probably put you in the ballpark of a selling price estimate? http://www.race-cars.com/carsold/chevy.htm Look at the years 68-76 Corvette.

Hey Jason, The one good thing , you can utilize the JTR parts to get going. You may find it may not be as costly as you think. The LT1/T56 seem like the best of both worlds. -

Pop N Wood, F-parts(Bristol) is the one of the best LT1/LS1 shows in town so that are bought quickly. Another thing with Bristol (F-parts), they will separate a T56 from a LT1 or LS1 and cost will be higher for separate auctions versus a complete drivetrain auction. -

Me and Jason had been e-mailing back and fourth about drivetrain choices and the sources. F-Parts (Bristol) have the most complete packages I have seen on E-bay with a limited warranty/exchange. There is also Tennessee Auto Sales, Hilton Motorsports in Texas, HP Salvage. There is a 6spd/LS1 Camaro SS on ebay right now in South Carolina that looks like a good deal. Once I commit to a drivetrain choice it is full steam ahead. Again, Congrats to Jason for his find. -

Hey Jason, Congratulations !!!!!!! I am jealous !!!! and glad you were able to make a choice in the direction you want to go. I am still flip-flopping -When I read qwik240Z, phantom and dalelx threads on the LS1, I lean towards buying the setup from that place up in Bristol. Then, I go over to Troy's house and his nitrous,stroke-carbureted beast is like wow I digress, Again congrats and let me know if you need any help with your parts search and getting the hands dirty. -
If I was in your position (my car is far from it) I would get another shell/car to go widebody creative. As far as selling your car timing and location is everything and you could possibly get your asking price. However, five or ten years from now you may be kicking yourself for selling it. This is my second Z, (8 years ago) the first was a stroke, triple weber 280 with centerlines and comp TAs-Me and the wife had just bought a house, and we car pooled to work in a VW-Jetta. My wife said three magic words "I AM PREGNANT" , the jetta had a lot of miles on it so we needed another "family car" I did not even hesitate to sell the Z. Today we now have a Dodge Caravan, Toyota 4-runner, my second 280-Z and a Mini Cooper. It never was thought to just keep my first Z parked in the garage but at the time I assumed it was time to quit hot rodding and be responsible (stop spending money on my car). I kick myself everyday !!!!!! and wonder what happen to my car. Treated like art work, hold on to that masterpiece and create another.

The IMSA historians can correct me if my memory fails me. Check this out: http://album.hybridz.org/showphoto.php?photo=3831&cat=500&page=1 I do not know if this a Don Davendorf driven zx with Electramotive, but i do know the IMSA ZX body kits and some Bob Sharp/Paul Newman Z's and ZX's had the body work made at company that was located in Conn. I have been researching and trying to find out if the company still exist or change names-have not had any luck. Arizona Z car and various other companies made SCCA, GTU IMSA kits later on.

Not to steal this thread, my apology. Iskone, The yellow car is in Germany: http://www.grombil.com Those are Porsche 930 Turbo 11 inch flares and rear bumper (steel) massaged to fit the Z.

Give Balance performance a call in Georgia. http://www.balancedperformance.com/index.shtml Georgia Z club members who do not do there on repairs go here or to Eddie Radatz.

Kraymond, If you have not seen this picture, you might like this: http://album.hybridz.org/showphoto.php?photo=3813&cat=500&page=1 When i lived in San Diego, Cali, long, long time ago there was a guy who had the kit on his car -smoke gray color with centerlines and Yokohama AVS sports. I can't remeber if they were 285/40 or 295/40 -15 inch, but they do not make these tires anymore, so you have to get created with the plus1, plus 2, and even plus 3 sizes with the tires today to fill those flares.

Hey John, Congratualtions on your purchase-glad you, the family and cars made a back to FL safely. I am just about sold on the Porsche turbo flares, and then I found this website: http://www.bodykits.org/ They indicate they can make a custom bodykit within a group buy status. This may be another option for getting a IMSA GTU kit made.

Mikelly, I am and was in a situation were I could do both. I have my own mortgage document preparation/notary service and a friend of mine needing some help with auditing, quality control and bulk sales with his department and company. I executed a no compete clause in my initial employee package, were I disclosed how my business operated. There maybe competition and/or conflict of interest in your functions, but it can also be avenue of two revunue streams. Without disclosing to much information to your employer initially, this could be and opportunity of "agglomeration forces" business overflow if you will that you can take and advantage of. All good replys above, CPA, Attorney and add to the list find a business banker.

2003 Cobra Wheels are On
Dudeboy replied to speeder's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
I was looking at some Saleen 18 inch wheels and came across these: http://www.ezaccessory.com/.sc/ms/dd/1123441416177627/9/nc/Wheel%20Adapters/124/Wheel%20Adapter%204%20Lug%204%2E5%26quot%3B%20To%205%20Lug%204%2E5%26quot%3B%20Thickness%202%26quot%3B I saved the information, if I decided to go that route. My f-body budddies get there custom adapters made by Skulte Performance. Call and get all the information, I have not seen the Ezaccesory adapters !!!! However, I have seen the Skulte stuff utilized on cars that drag race. -
Yes, it was for sale. His shop is in San Diego, CA- were I am from. When, I emailed him I did even think to ask about where he got the bodykit and/or if he made it.

Forrest, I forgot about Erik's car. I have those picture's as well, also Erik makes surfboards and other fiberglass/carbon fiber parts for Zs. I e-mailed his shop to see if he could make the old Datsun Competiton hood scoop a while back, and indicated he needed a scoop to make a mold. If he still has the car (it was up for sale)maybe he could make the molds of his flares from his car? As far as I know he has the facilities. Need to get in contact with his shop, this thread may be of some interest.

If you can work with fiberglass, look at other bodykits from other cars. Z and ZX widebody kits are not mass produced anymore in the states, right now -it may change with enough interest. If you know someone that speaks Japanese and English try Aritaspeed.com- Several members are looking for flare/bodykit options, I am looking at either Porsche turbo flares or Pantera Group 4 Flares (readily available, inexpensive in fiberglass and wide). Porsche option: http://www.gt-racing.com/catalog/default.htm, and if you have not already, check http://www.grombil.com -the yellow 240 with porsche flares.

http://automotivewarehouses.com/showad.cgi?1115&1977770109GA_259_7467.dat My wife told me No!!! I can not have it, finish the Z I have in the garage, before I can buy another one. Nice car, price is kind of high- but nothing like building your own car.

DOBI does not exist anymore. Performance World in San Diego, CA not in business anymore. ARIZONA Z CAR sold the molds(TIM 240z posted the information of the mold buyer) Show-cars Body parts: Questionable quality and customer service issue. Z shops or fiberglass shops that made IMSA GTU or widebody flares are not in business anymore, and/or the shops that are still in business no longer have the molds for the 70-78 Z. Every now and then a body kit will show up on Ebay, or you will hear of a salvage yard discovery. Showcars-bodyparts have some kits, but previous posts indicate a customer service and quality issue (Other members with experience with this company can chime in on this issue). MSA, Victoira British , and Jim Cook Racing sell flares, not as wide as the IMSA bodykits -maybe they can be modified? Until there is some money to be made (profit) by making the IMSA GTU bodykit, the alternative maybe to modifiy existing kits from other cars, make a mold from a Z-car with the bodywork, start from scratch and make your own -which can be done, or you might get lucky and find a kit at a salvage yard, old Z repair shop or a local Z club.

Good evening John, The flares come in steel or fiberglass. The steel flares go for $1200.00 - $1900.00 and the steel bumper extensions go from $300.00 -$450.00 and this does not include the shipping and a skilled/bodyshop welder $$$ The fiberglass flares go from $200.00 - $250.00 and the fiberglass bumper extension $100.00. The fiberglass bumper can go from $295.00 - $335.00. I have a neighbor with a 911 with turbo bodywork (fiberglass), and told me to also look for 911 RSR fiberglass as well. When I started researching this option my dad sent me this: http://brentwoodrocketscience.com/rsr.htm Tire and wheel selection for the front, has to be based on how you set-up your suspension, wheel backspace and offset. The range on a flared front can go from 245/40 17 to 275/40-17. Bob_H has 275/40-17 on the front(flares and coilovers come into play)and Henry Constanzo president of Georgia Z club has 245/40-17 on the front as well. The rear tire choices are 315/35-17, 335/35-17 and (Thank you for the link to the IMSA car on Ebay) 345/35 -15 Pirelli Pzero Giallo. Also Michelin has a vintage racing/tarmac/street tire called Michelin TB5 and TB15 same price as the Pirelli, and the size is 345? or 335/35-15 also but they are 15 inch!!. I have only located the Michelin in the UK (Longstyres and Classic Tire and in Australia) Longstyre returned my e-mail promptly and indicated two rear tires shipped to the USA is about $900.00 ( about the same price as buying the Pirellis from 1010 tire). There are several pictures of the yellow Z at http://www.grombil.com, and there is another smoke grey Z with porsche flares in some older bodywork posts. I have pictures of Porsche Turbos, RSR's and Group 4 Panteras in different stages of bodywork just to get some ideas and look at angles. IMHO, steel flares would be the best, but I know how to work with fiberglass and I can cut up the fiberglass flares to fit the rear tires I utilize. I have some pictures of Z,'s you may want to see. Shoot me your e-mail and I will also PM the information about the Michelins.
