  1. Meph, I didn't see it mentioned, but how much tremclad did you use? I.e quarts, gallons, etc. thanks and great write up. Sorry thread resurrection.
  2. So good news is I am going to be able to keep the 240z. Finally, have the car in my own garage. Starting on paint and body work as we speak. Need to work out some small problems like seats, harness, fuel gauge read errors, and small aesthetic things. Never fully mentioned it, but the motor is an Autech SR20DE w/6 speed. Car gets up and goes, it will provide quite a long time of enjoyment before / if needing an upgraded motor. Thanks everyone who has been following my build, actual progress of this will resume.
  3. I custom fab all my stuff so if you need something let me know and we could work somethin out.

  4. Yeup, ran out of money and time. There is a lot of me that wants to keep it, but its only a car and I'm only 26, so it won't be the last even though it was my first.
  5. Thanks Santanawhite. The car is now officially going up for sale. I will post a classified add shortly. Thanks everyone who followed this thread!
  6. So after 5 years I finally got to drive it...and it's an absolute blast... I'll post up some vids and pictures when I get a chance.
  7. Thanks Dave for the cross reference. Need to check and see what the misses has going on to see if we can make it to the datsun meet. Completely lost on regards as to where it is, but hopefully the hotel can give good directions.
  8. Just a heads up for you z'ers down under, I'm in Melbourne with the misses for a bit. Don't have a whole lot of free time, but if you're near flinders street send me a message if you'd like to grab a brew or something. Tyson.freer@gmail.com
  9. Hey mate, I'm looking at making my own LS1 ITB's and I'm wondering if you made or bought the small manifold plate you are using for yours. The one that has the cathedral parts on one side then steps down to a circle port for the throttle body flange.

I'm wondering if I can buy just that bit.

    Cheers

    Tim

  10. First time running since I've had the car...thank you Vildini Motorsports.
  11. How is your S30 coming along?

  12. Well I now work for Bolthouse Farms as a Beverage Line supervisor and I couldn't be happier. We are a growing at a very rapid rate and have recently become the number seller of premium juice on the market.
  13. You need to spend time searching the forum. First you need to buy the book from www.jagsthatrun.com for Datsuns. There are a lot of little nuances that go into a SBC but can be done pretty easily. Use the search function at the top of this page. Don't get mad or upset when your thread gets closed or deleted, its not a personal attack. You just need to spend some time researching and not expect to get spoon fed. Good luck.
  14. soon to be loading the Z to go to Vildini Motorsports

  15. So its soon to be official. The LS1 will be coming out shortly and replaced with another motor. I'm keeping it secret as to what motor, but I will give some hints. 1) It's lighter than the LS1 2) It makes less HP than the LS1 3) It makes more HP than an L28 4) It's all aluminum 5) It's a super rare model engine of a very popular engine model 6) It's still N/A Can you guess it? There are a couple of reason's I've opted to do this. I was WAY overbuilding, the car was becoming dangerously fast in comparison to driver capability. Going more lightweight, better MPG, and as the old adage goes "Its better to drive a slow car fast, than a fast car slow." In trade for my LS1 I'm getting a running car in return and my budget can't afford to get the LS1.
  16. Having spoken to this guy several times, he is really a nice guy. He speaks very limited English and has limited computer skills. With that being said, he's offered me to come by and check out his shop, I've just never had the time. I haven't heard from him in a while, but he gets some very high end customers. From when I've spoken with him, its more for the passion of the car than for the time or money involved. Just my .02
  17. Feature Request!! Can we get the mobile skin as well? I spend a lot of time at work on my mobile phone, having their prebuilt skin would be quite nice! http://community.invisionpower.com/blog/1174/entry-3564-new-mobile-skin-coming-soon/ http://www.skinsforiphone.com/ Thanks!!
  18. Answer is Geothermal, tax credits and the like can keep your initial costs down. I've always wanted to do one of these setups. http://geocomfort.publishpath.com/ http://www.geoexchange.org/ http://www.waterfurnace.com/residential.aspx If you have the land you can go horizontal with your system and save money. If not you go vertical and spend a little more. Just my .02
  19. Are you running A/C? I wasn't going to on mine when I cared about my LS1, and was going to mount them on the transmission hump right next to the firewall on the inside of the cab. They'd be dry and protected and pretty easy to access. Additionally you shouldn't have to modify the harness too much to get the length into that area.
  20. Centerlines 17x9.5 they were called big surs when I bought them but now go by a different name. Thanks for the compliments!!
