Thats not entirely true, it depends on where in CA you are. You can buy brand new homes in Bakersfield, for under and around 200k. You can find used homes and foreclosed, or older homes in nice areas any where from 100k to 300k. Average salary for Bakersfield is in the 30k, which if you have good credit puts in the 200k house with currently over 1000 homes under that price range in Bakersfield. However big cities, is a different ball game. LA, San Fran, etc are all a lot like CA. But they don't take up the entire states housing market. Just my .02

The aircrafts fly rarely now days, but still do fly. If you did get a ticket from one of them its not from radar, its done by passing through a mile marker in a given amount of time. I've never got one, the signs are pretty frequent around me as well. That all said, if you notice a airplane and think its after you, slow down a lot, it'll throw off the timing and they can't prove you were speeding. Then proceed to the speed limit, until the plane is out of sight. Most of the radar dectectors, that I've used, seen used etc. in Cali pick up Emergency radio towers and sometimes truckers too. On the note of CA, I live in the "conservative armpit" of the state and its still beautiful here.

Looks pretty cool, but also looks like the corvette I built on NFS Carbon. Lot of work done to that thing, gotta respect that.

wtb 240z v8 project.......no rust pleasseeee...have cash ready to buy

What is your budget? -
Are your zg's the lime green or the Black? I think thats the deciding factor, if they are black, do all black accents, airdam, spoiler etc. If the ZG's are lime green then I say same color for all except hood vents.

My wife gave her stamp of approval.

Progress on my insane VQ35HR 240Z project
tfreer85 replied to markrolston@mac.com's topic in Nissan V6 Forum
umm wow, wish I had your budget Great looking car! -
You could probably make one out of aluminum, balsa wood, or something like that. From what I remeber on my 280z it had, covered pressed partical board, or something real similar to it. If you aren't set on putting a door back in there, some people put speakers in that area.

You don't really need the Z32 transmission if you're just doing a OEM L28et, or even a midly modified L28et. The things you'll want to swap out pretty quickly would be the rear differential, to something like a 280z R-200 diff. Stock 240z with an L28ET you'd be looking anywhere from high tens to 13 if i remember correctly. Do a lot of searching around, there is a ton of great info on this board. I'm currently doing an LS1/T56 swap in a 72. Again use the search function, most of the people here don't take kindly to spoon feeding or repetitive questions. Good luck

Ahh okay. Are you planning on doing an engine swap? The only ones I personally stay away from are the 280z's. They are definitely the heaviest of the S30 models. However in my opinion, again my opinion, the minor weight differences on the 240 and 260 models isn't enough to sway me from looking at them, especially if you have an engine swap planned. If you don't stay away from 260z's as they have a lot of carb problems. Let me know if you have any questions, or any problems you aren't far from me and I'd be willing to share as much of my knowledge as I have. Good luck searching!

Ditto, its almost "too clean" for be life sized. Great pictures, and great looking ZX!

Hey guys I have a Canon EOS Rebel K2 that I bought about a year ago for $400, I used it probably 2-3 times before buying my Canon XTi for digital purposes. I'm wanting to sell it now as its just collecting dust. What do you think is a good asking price? I know its a shameless plug in a way, but I'd like your opinions on it. Thanks!

Hey Joe, Check out craigslist in LA and San Francisco they'll have quite a few in that price range. Also check out http://www.centralvalleyz.org they've had a couple local (to Bakersfield) show up from time to time. Out of curiosity why 70-72 models only?

Some minor progress being done. Q-45 Diff mount all tacked up.

Dude thats awesome! I wouldn't be disappointed with that one bit.

Here are a couple I've taken semi Recently. Thought the lamp gave off a good classic "Gas lamp" feel to it. My wife's picture, there was no moon at this time period and it was pitch black. I took a trip to Grand Junction, CO it was a beautiful drive, and this picture does no justice. I'm currently trying to get my business off the ground and into real-estate photography. These are just basics, nothing special.

Still interested in an LS powered Z? I've got about 20k in parts alone, not inlcuding 5k in labor. Fully built NHRA 10-sec cage. Coil-overs, rear LCA's, Q45 diff mount, AZC brackets, techno-toy tuning camber plates, phantom guages, Exedy clutch, fidanza flywheel, Extrudabody ITB's, 17x9.5 Powedercoated Centerline wheels, ZG Flares, new wiring harness, literally NO rust, all underbody has been coated with an Eastwood rust inhibitor and chassis black. There are tons of other parts, I haven't listed. You can take over from right now for about 20k, all thats left is buttoning up the wiring and 3k fuel system. Or you can wait about 2-3 months allow it to be completed and painted black for about 27k. Let me know what you think.

Are you sure they were from MSA? I bought them from a private vendor/manufacturer on ebay. I didn't know MSA ever picked them up.

Glad you got them and installed misterZ!! They look great!

CFD Software for NACA duct calcuations
tfreer85 replied to tfreer85's topic in Windtunnel Test Results and Analysis
Thanks Jay! I'm okay with open source I'm running Fedora 9 right now until Fedora 11 gets released. I saw the openfoam, but it looked well pretty darn complicated but it might be worth the effort to learn it. -
Problem: CFD Software for calculations. Must be free, opensource etc. Does anyone have any recommendations? I found this really cool website which has a lot of them (you have to scroll down a ways): http://www.imechanica.org/node/1394 Goal: To calculate the size requirements of a NACA duct split in half and still flow appx 150cfm I.E. a tradiotnal NACA duct flowing ~300cfm split in half and placed on opposite sides of the 240z hood for intake vents. I know realistically, just doing 2 traditional NACA ducts would work the best, but I'd like to go with something a little more aesthetically pleasing. Solutions: Any ideas? I have a calculator than can help me size the NACA duct, but in no particular relation to CFM. Traditional NACA Ducts: Commercial produced (not as functional)

Hey guys I know this is a car forum etc, but I'm in need of selling my Macbook. Specs: 2.0Ghz Core 2 Duo 80 Gig HD 1 Gig of Ram OSX Tiger Great condition, no scratches on the screen or keyboard. It has a UV plastic protective casing on it. The only problem is the battery does not hold a charge, will function perfect off of AC power. A replacement battery costs about $60 online. I have 5 computers and this one just doesn't get enough use for me to keep it. I have run heavy graphics on this machine with no problems. It a great computer at a great price. Asking: $700 OBO + free shipping Contact: tyson.freer@gmail.com or (661) 932-1861

Thinking of swapping the tails.
tfreer85 replied to The love of JDM's topic in Fabrication / Welding
I've had 3. You'll be out 12months for therapy, but you'll be able to start putting pressure on it and laying down to wrench in about 2-3 months. If you're lucky you'll only have torn the MCL, no surgery required for that one. ACL is a different story. -
AK-Z check out the Steven Chastain series on small metal foundry stuff. Great books, great reads, and will really help you out. You'd be suprised how cheaply/easily you could melt aluminium for cheap. You can get his books on amazon for a little cheaper than through his website. http://stephenchastain.com/store.htm

Hey Bartman, to be entirely honest i don't know how it got there. I do know that it does align correctly with the latch when i tested it on my 280z. I also have a white 280z hood which is in better condition than the 240z, with the exception of one ding near the Datsun emblem. Is your CF hood a betamotorsports or raceon? The drive might be a little far, but I'd be willing to meet in the Santa Clarita area which would make it about halfway.
