Okay, so as everyone knows the economy sucks right now. I've been job searching since January all over CA and even into Colorado some with no avail. This is a somewhat multi-layered question(s). First, I've been looking at you tool delivery Franchise's (matco, snap-on, mac, etc.) or really any other franchise out there. I'm not looking for a career out of it, just something for 4-5 years allowing me to finish my Bachelors degree and support my wife's college. With all that being said does anyone out there have experience with these franchises? Finding Internet resources/reviews that are unbiased (not funded by said franchise) is very hard to do. Additionally if anyone out there has a job opening, as either an apprenticeship, intern, or full time employee and would like to help a fellow Hybridz'er out please let me know and I'll send you a resume. I'm finishing up my AS Degree in Industrial Technology: Automotive focus. Overall goals: Must make at least $15-20/hr to be able to support the household (living in Bakersfield, CA). I'd like for it to have it help future career placement in the Engineering field. Willing to relocate depending on what is available. Thank you Hybridz, for your time, considerations, and opinions.

watanabe r type?? are they worth it??

Being a very speculative question, I'd say it depends on what "type" of S30 you're trying to build. As close to original "JDM" spec (for lack of better expression), or something more performance based, or something cost based. I like whats, they can really make the car look good. However, it seems like everyone is getting them nowadays. Cost wise FOR ME, it wasn't worth it. I spent half on my wheels (including having them powdercoated) and they're 17x9.5 and a 5" backspacing. Benefits of this is, I have a wider selection of tires available. Downside is well I don't have a JDM or "period correct" looking Z. Then again the price difference made me okay with that -

After watching the video it seems like he shows a lot of symptoms of autism and ADHD. I agree, the fact his father and him having something to share and travel with is awesome. I feel like an a*hole for laughing at the first picture. Props to the kid, probably brilliantly smart just can't communicate it.

Okay, so my dad recommends this product: Planet top x by mapie. He said its a water based and will dry in a couple hours and fill your chips no problem. Somewhere in Toronto they should carrying it, its an international company and pretty popular for carry all sizes, huge industrial to small garage quantities. After speaking with him, he said if you were willing to add more than 2" inches you could apply a top layer of concrete no problem. I don't know how big your garage is, but for about a single car garage you'd be looking at around $1k to have it poured, stained, and polished/sealed. Hope this helps!

How big are the chips/cracks? I'd stay away from laying down more concrete. You aren't going to get very good adhesion to the bottom (original) slab and its going to crack more if you don't lay down a slab more than 2". Again depending on the size of chips and cracks you should be able to fill with a concrete epoxy resin. I'll have to ask my dad what he thinks the best way to do it (commercial concrete contractor). I'll post again later on today for you. Additionally if you've never laid concrete or finished concrete, I highly recommend you stay away from it if you can. Tyson

I'd say you need an ECM flash/tuner to make sure thats working correct. Figure out whats throwing your "check engine" code. The fans could be bad wiring to them causing the to "cut in and out." However that could also be resolved with the ECM and wiring check. I don't know of any good shops, but I know the feeling when the shop was supposed to do the work, did a crappy job. I'd take it to someone else, or send the ECM off to a tuner. Also check out the thirdgen forums and ls1tech, both have a lot of information on your exact swap. Good luck!!

I've seen you use this word several times now, asked my english major wife, and we still couldn't figure it out. Finally google/wiki to the save. For everyone else here's the meaning of that word. "To grok (pronounced /ˈɡrɒk/) is to share the same reality or line of thinking with another physical or conceptual entity" Back to the turbo thread. It seems as if a basic program could control something similar to a stepper motor. The stepper motor would act as your actuator. One of those at "x"-RPM open "Y" amount. -
Looks good! What is your clearance between the tires and exhaust? The picture makes it look pretty close. Keep up the good work, looks mighty clean!

Did you read the rules? HybridZ Classifieds Rules 1. To post an ad in the "Parts For Sale section", you must have been a member of HybridZ for a minimum of 30 days AND have 40 posts to your credit. 2. Use of the Classifieds is limited to private individuals only. Commercial advertising is not permitted. 3. This is for selling parts/product, but please keep posts to a PG-13 nature. 4. Please be descriptive in your ad title. Ad titles such as “Cleaning out shed!”, “Misc parts!”, “Parts Wanted!” “Looking for!” are too vague and will be deleted. 5. When selling an item, you MUST publicly state your asking price and location, or your post will be deleted. 6. No Bidding for items - HybridZ is not an auction site. If a seller posts a fixed price they must sell at that price and not turn the sale into a bidding contest. If a seller posts a link to an auction site the auction must be conducted on that site. 7. HybridZ Classifieds are used to buy parts/product. NOT to tell sellers you can get it cheaper somewhere else. You can place a lower offer to the seller, but statements of "being over price" will not be tolerated. 8. The administrators of HybridZ.org take no responsibility for the conduct of members on this forum. 9. For security reasons, we strongly recommend that you use PayPal when buying parts from private individuals online. 10. If you place an ad and find later that it has disappeared you can safely assume that you violated one of the above rules. No notification will be given. 11. Please give your ads at least 5 days between bumps. Frequent bumping such as every day will get your ad deleted! 12. After your item/s have sold, please close your ad.
