  1. Leon, Thanks!! So, what tube do you suggest? An f7? or another? Steve
  2. Well, I'm still tuning. Got the AFR gauge installed. Running very rich at cruising, around 10.5 with 60f8 idles. Installed 55F11s. Brought up the cruising afr to 11.2ish but increased the "bog" greatly. I'm currently using F2 E-tubes. Whats your thoughts on the F2? Thanks Steve
  3. Double check the bolts attaching the carbs to the manifold. more air is passing into the motor than before. You would be able to tell if its running at 1,500 verses 1,000. Don't need a tach for that
  4. Doubtful, I assume you don't hear a leak.. U would if you had one. Did you take the carbs off to do the weld?
  5. Regarding the idle and not digging back through the threads, have you adjusted the butterflys to tame the idle? In other words, how open are they and how much exposure do the progression holes have to the motor vacuum?
  6. Are you running 40s or 45s? (I ought to have the O2 sensor welded in this weekend, hopefully....)
  7. Unlikely it would retain the the mechanical fuel pump.
  8. http://forums.hybrid...holes/?p=929474 That's my thread. I've been running the metal head gasket that did not match perfectly (N54/P90) but I've had no (known) issues...FWIW
  9. Is that HP goal acheivable with a stock p90 with no porting?
  10. yeah, it was a mobile Dyno at the track. Wished they had one too. Either way I needed to get the wideband anyway. Trying to convince my neighbor to drag his welder unit into my garage today and get it hooked up. Here's a guy with a stroker, stage 3ish cam and 40s. Laid down 220 HP and Torque at 5,550rpm.
  11. I ran the Schneider stage 2 cam in that engine. I'd suggest that cam but its the only one I tried. Check out MSA for the cams. Google Datsun L series heads and compare the volume. The 260 already has low compression so you certainly don't want to increase the cylinder head volume. Don't you already have an E88 on there?
  12. Here's the Dyno run. Engine is cutting out from about 5k to 6k. Just ordered a Wide Band to see what's going on...Maybe its fueling or something electrical.
  13. Yeah, I didn't mean to be a dick. Its just that I wanted a stroker not a ported and polished 2.6L. I can still get head work done. Realized that before starting the project but wanted to get a baseline performance of the stroker and go from there if needed/wanted. What if anything do you make of the motor cutting out on my dyno video. Car was run to 6k on the video. Thanks steve
  14. One the way...Can't wait to see the results. Innovate MTX-L
  15. Block was bored too wide? Rings bouncing around with piston slap??? Maybe.?
  16. Stumbled across the this gem....Sorry to bump an old thread.. Everybody go back to what you were doing...
  17. Well, with the video and the dyno graph what's your gut feeling regarding the motor cutting out past 5K? I'm going to double check all the connections on the Crane unit and try another distributor I have on hand. Steve
  18. I agree.. Fuel or ignition. Here's what I'm running: Idle: 60f8 Main: 145 Corrector: 160 Pump jet: 45 E-Tube: F2
  19. Here's the Dyno Video..If you listen closely you can hear the motor cutting out from about 5k to 6k. It sounds like it might be the microphone but its not...Its the motor.
  20. Humm... I'm running a ZX distributor with a crane Electronic module. The one MSA sells when your factory unit craps out. Running 34 degrees all in.
  21. Well put. Yes, I can always go and have head work done. That's exactly why I didn't do it during the build. For comparison, I've attached the dyno results of the car after me. 280z with Schneider Cam, bored 40 over and other mild modes. This car maintains power up to about 5,500.
  22. Got the car on the Dyno. Good torque numbers but HP falls off after 4,500. HP is about 150 and Torque is 185. Certainly need an O2 meter. Spent the day at Harris Hill Raceway http://harrishillroad.com/ which was rented by the local Z Club. Drove the car hard for 45 minutes and no problems!!! Even made it back to San Antonio. This was by far the toughest test for the motor. I'm beginning to think all is well with the build. Dyno clean graph.pdf
  23. Yep. Next step is getting an O2 Sensor installed.
  24. Could be the 40s choking off the breathing. Spent $$$ in the wrong place? No...Just didn't spend 2 grand on headwork knucklehead.
