  1. Found this on craigslist. Washington state. 10th anv edition red and black. If I remember production on these was around 500. Could be a nice project. http://seattle.craigslist.org/est/cto/1526263687.html
  2. The pics are awsome!! Thanks!! I'm going to source the parts for the front soon. Right now I am trying to find out about the rear M30 (F31)(leapard), because I have a line on a parts car and don't want to waste the money or time if it's not a quality swap.
  3. Don't compromise, I found a free n42/n47 set. Cylinder walls still have the cross hatching so I changed the bearings, new head gasket. Went cheap and didn't change the rings. 6 mo.s later I am blowing by. Checked compression-#5 is 85, 1-3 are 155-160. Don't waste your time.Do it once!!! $150 at napa saves alot of time.
  4. Looks like you have to sign up to view the forum,I was not allowed
  5. So, has anyone actually done an F31 RCA swap yet? I'm looking at buying an M30 with a frozen engine and would like to do this.Any lessons learned would be nice.
  6. Sorry,I'm an idiot!! Late night, too many nyquil.Too many cars. Thanks for putting me in check!!
  7. Other than coilover setups, has anyone doctored thier rear suspension? I'm thinking about moving the spring to the shock to make a strut, like an S30. Looking at the control arm it resembles a class 2 lever, with the spring 6 inches closer to the fulcrum. It's no wonder the S130 has suspension issues!!!
  8. Reddzx, great find.Is that a hole in the roof? (Aftermarket sunroof? yuck!!LOL) If you need something for it,give me a call. I'm right down the road...well across the bridge anyway.
  9. Battery acid? It happened to me also. Go to your local parts store with the line in hand. Just a piece of advice... make it a two piece line.Make a short piece at the clutch master, and a long piece for the rest. It will make your life easier. Use shrink sleaving over the end around the battery so that it won't happen again. I didn't cover mine the first time... Try not to bend the line too much while removing it. Use a cheap tubing bender and copy your existing line. Make sure you match the threads on the line BEFORE you leave the store. My local NAPA had two different metric ended lines. Good luck!! Let me know if I can help further.
  10. You can get a T03/04 hybrid turbo on ebay for around $150 including shipping.
  11. Engine: L28E Block:N42 Stock dished pistons Head: N42 Stock 83 ZXT car and parts 2K Ohm thermistor in place of Cyl head temp Greddy type S BOV replacing emergency relief valve cheap ebay manual boost controller EGR unplugged Vapor canister deleted AAV unplugged Everything else is stock It runs out well, tire squealing fun.
  12. If anyone plans on running an earlier head that doesn't have a cylinderhead temp mounting hole, all you need is a 2K ohm thermistor. I modified an electrical lug, inserted the thermistor into it. Iused standard di-pole 24 awg cable from radio shack, and found bosch EV1 "mate" plugs to connect to the harness. The thermistors I bought through an electronic supply online. If anyone is interested,Ill post the suppliers and part numbers later. Ibolted the electrical lug to the #4 intake runner on the aft side of the removable plate on the manifold. Runs great.
  13. 70-71 S30 has an adjustable slave rod
  14. The early S130 bumper is a one piece wrap-a-round. The later style is a three piece. I know there is is a difference between the fenders but I am not sure what exactly. You might have to drill or fill holes. lower valance might be different also. I recomend changing it all for ease of installation. Mounting is all the same. The hoods mount the same. The turbo hood is on all 82-83 S130.
  15. Wild Bill had nothing to offer. He doesn't even have drawings for the z31 series that he works on.
  16. I would recommend a borg 5 sp. In all the years I have been driving Nissans, the manual trans is the biggest failure. Nissan used the Borg T5 for a reason. Yes the drivline will need to be replaced with the T5 as it is different. Also, the T5 driveline shaft diameter is larger for the added torque. Plus, you can get a short throw shifter from B&M or Hurst for the T5. Years to look for are 82-83 S130 turbo.
  17. I posted some pics today, Sorry the car is filthy. It's really cold outside so I'm not washing it!!
  18. This would be an interesting experiment if you know a good machinist. Twin turbos anyone??? LOL
  19. The manual doesn't have the electronic scematic for the pieces. I need to have the component level for trouble shooting the temp gauge LCD thanks mike
  20. Anyone out there have any electronics contacts? I need the circuit drawing of the Digital dash internals. My temp gauge fades out most of the time.
  21. Hi,I'm new here, but not new to Zcars. I've had my share. My current and possibly my keeper, is an 83 ZXT 7-83 production (same as 84 300zx). I picked it up from my neighbor for $400. Black on tan, T-top, 5sp. So far I have changed the carpet to a new black one, new reclining black vinyl racing buckets, T/C kit, KYBs (which suck), suspension technique springs (Eibach has dico'd thiers), Greddy type S adjustable BOV, Cheap ebay manual boost control. Ipulled the F54 block and installed an N42 set to experiment on. I am rebuilding the F54. I used the N42 head and modified a thermister (2K ohm) to replace the cyl head temp sensor. I plan on buying a solid fuel rail from Palnet and 380cc injectors from Osidetiger. I also plan on switching the ecu to a Z31 soon(I have the parts just haven't done it yet.) I purchased an ECCS diagnostic unit and the service manuals on cd. I am currently a DOD civilian electrician, but prior I worked for the local Nissan Dealer. I have been working on Nissans for almost 20 years. As soon as I have a chance to wash the car I'll post some pics.
