  1. I bought a "sunlight sunpro??" with a white face I could not find a black face, plus the green back light would be awsome
  2. OK I downed my beer and had to get up to get another, so I looked at the clock and it is a quartz.
  3. I love the look of that boost gage, were did you get it? And mine is a 78z maby its a quartz? I'd go to the driveway to look but that would require me getting out of this chair, and my beer might get warm if I leave it to long.
  4. mine worked perfect!! untill about a week ago, I NEVER had to set it. Oh well I guess i will put my boost gage there? I just thought it was so cool with the clock I love that stock look.
  5. O.K. I just won an 82 turbo 5 speed (thats the black one right?) ECU off e-bay for $32 and I can get the turbo wire harness for $20 so now I'm looking for an AFM and distrib. PLEASE that has to be another Hybrid member out there that has done this that can help me out!

  7. Does the fuel light "light up" when starting the car? I'm trying to find out if mine works I don't dare run it to low on gas to see if it comes on.
  8. When I bought the car 1 year ago the clock did not work but then started working and has for about 11 months and now I have to set it every time I drive the car? Do most of the clocks not work or do I need to take it out and lube the internals?

  10. I was up till 2:30am reading all the threads I could find mostly by PrOxLaMuS© about putting the turbo setup on to a n/a motor. As some of you have read I bought a turbo motor for $150 from a junk yard and come to find out after removing the head that the cylinder wall in #4 is scratched up pretty good and the top of that piston is a little messed up in one corner, long story short I can't use the turbo block. Now my wife already wants to kill me because I spent $150 on this "dam" car. so without spending as much as I can I'm going to turbo my very strong running (not to mention I put a new n47 head on last year) motor---thanks again PrOxLaMuS© From what I've read on this site this is what I'm going to take off the turbo and put on my n/a motor oil pan oil pump oil cooler oil line to the turbo turbo manifold, turbo, and downpipe injectors J pipe valve cover fuel pressure reg I don't have the turbo distrib, or AFM, computer, or fuel pump. It took alot of reading to find out that the dizzy is the thing inside the distrib that controls timming. and I understand that I can JB weld or modify my n/a dizzy so it wont advance under boost? HOWS THAT DONE?? This is an 82 turbo motor so it has that thing on the motor not in the ditrib?? do I need that? and you can richen the fuel mixture by adjusting the n/a AFM's teeth? HOWS THAT DONE?? Can I use my n/a ecu if I stay under 7 pounds of boost?? I just want to get all this stuff in to the car while shopping for wire harness and ecu from a turbo and i guess afm and ditrib? Thaks alot guys for all your help this site rocks and I've tried to do all my reading before posting. PLEASE let me no if there is something i'm missing in this swap.
  11. Hey thanks Thumper. So do you think going above 10 psi would not be safe. Also I found another turbo motor with a bad turbo for $300 the turbo on my motor has no play at all so I asume its good. I took off the head and the # 4 and 5 cylinders are scratched up bad.
  12. when I first bought my Z I blew a head gasket and warped my head so I bought a reconditioned head with a new valve job, guides, everything. Its an N47 head and from what I've heard and read on this sight all the turbo stuff I think would work well on my engine. OR should I put my N47 head on the turbo block?? I don't no if the b;ock is good so I guess I should stick with my N/A block and head??
  13. Hey all just got back from the junk yard with my $150 turbo motor. I was going to take the head off and have a valve job done. I noticed that the freeze plug in the rear off the head is missing. What would that be from. If the head and block are bad I was going to put the turbo set-up onto my L28 with the megaSnS, And the injectors and fuel pump from the turbo. The motor seems to have almost no compression in some pistons, I thought it might be from sitting, a couple of valves are stuck??? but now I see that the freeze plug is gone so now I don't no.
  14. I have the same clunk. I now got new bushings, struts, and a-arms! and guess what...................still goes clunk! when starting off (sorta hard, like poping the clutch). I think it is the rear end hitting the floor????

I've been doing all this reading while searching Hybrid for info on the lattest Megasquirt & spark for my future 78 280z turbo, and it got me thinking, hey I also drive a Dodge quad cab with the Hemi. If I put a BIG turbo on my truck could the megasquirt control the motor??? Or is it harder than that, speedo, trans shifting, throttle body.....ALL computer controlled. hmmmm i wonder?

  19. Are you putting turbo on the N/A block? That what I'm thinking of doing I found a turbo motor for $150.00 but has almost no comp. # 2-6 # 1 is ok ???
  20. Phantom, I also have trouble in the Texas heat, My blower blows fuses?? I went through 2-3 this summer. Has anyone else had this happen?
  21. I went back today with some tools to turn the motor over and try to get a compression reading. The motor is stuck, but I could not put much force into it as I had the valve cover off and had a wrench on the cam chain nut. I tried to get the starter to turn the motor over but the starter was just spinning, not connecting to the flywheel. I also noticed that the computer is gone, and some of the wire harness has been cut, and the AFM is gone. The TURBO turns freely, on the intake side, no movement in/out or side/side just spins with very little effort....so thats good right? ALSO on telling the guy that the motor was stuck he said he would sell it as a "good" core for $175!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. I once had a motorcycle that was stuck (sat for a couple years) I put some WD40 in each spark plug holes-4 cyl-, let it set for a few day and jumped up and down on the kick starter for about 5-10 min bada-boom, bada-bing it turned over, and started. Could this happen with a car also??? Thanks again for the feedback.

I'm in the middle of body work I am now going to fill in the light buckets to the fenders and gotta get some 17s man that looks good. my doors were bent too above the handle, whats that from? hip closing the door? anyway they are pulled, filled, and smoothed out now. I also filled in the side marker lights. Your lookes sweet! Gives me a goal!!!!!!!!!
  23. so even if the motor is siezed I could part it out on ebay or dig into it and try to fix it? Thanks for the reply!
