  1. He's using C16. Everyone knows C12 is better for blowing up the garage.
  2. Unfortunately what its attached to is a hard-on killer.
  3. I've seen a L6 engine where the #1 cylinder had a piston with a higher pin then the other five but that was a cheater ITS engine designed to fool the SCCA "whistle" compression check. L28 crank in a L24 block.
  4. I always wondered about this... from Mark Ortiz's latest newsletter.
  5. Gravity bleeding means opening up all 4 brake bleeders and let gravity move the fluid out to the calipers. May take a little while. You can also use your vacuum pump. The mistake you made was pumping the brake pedal before making sure fluid was at all four calipers. And yes, the switch is under the MC.
  6. Most likely the brake pressure switch has been tripped. The valve moves towards the end of the car with the lowest pressure and shuts off that circuit. You need to remove the nut on the end of the switch, recenter the valve, then gravity bleed the system so there is fluid to all four ends of the car before pushing on the pedal again.
  7. I hate working on houses. Anything where +/- 1/2" is "good" just sucks.
  8. Get ready to dispute the charge. Work with FedEx first, but with that amount FedEx is going to jack you around for as long a possible before not issuing a payment, especially if the package was not insured.
  9. Well, maybe in a minute once we work out the deposit thing. The cans look nice and fit the car well.
  10. Makes me think that team mascots are packin'.
  11. In "most" cases its OK to use a cooler for engine or transmission oil. Some coolers designed for transmissions have internal vanes or fins that create too big a pressure drop for the engine oiling system. This is especially true if a 30W or a 20W-50 engine oil is used.
  12. It really depends on the condition of the car. Tokico designs for the factory weights and if the car weighs more then it settles more.
  13. The springs are not crap although some folks have had problems with the progressive front springs designed for the 240Z. The linear Tokico springs for your car (280Z) are very good and I sell bunches of them to the 240Z guys. The HP and Illumina shocks are good for a street car and can be used for autocross and open track days.
  14. Taken care of. Next time give us a link please.

  17. Getting out of LA or the Bay Area really opens your eyes to how great this state really is.
  18. I don't know if it helps, hurts, or does nothing except muffle.
  19. For racing, it makes sense because it tends to stabilize tire pressures. You still get some pressure increase (2 to 5%) with dry nitrogen but humid air increases 10% to 15% in extreme cases. But for a street driven car that won't see 180 to 210F tire temps its just a waste of money.
  20. http://www.american-carbide.com/Burs/ESB.php A Christmas tree burr is a longer, thinner tree burr.
  21. I like the arguement, "Nitrogen molecules are bigger so they don't leak through the tire as fast as air molecules."
  22. Set the ride height based on your tires, not some arbitrary number like 2". Your front and rear lower control arms need to be pointing down (front inside to outside) a small amount (5 to 10 degrees). from there, align the car per the numbers in the sticky in this forum.
