  1. What most folks forget is the primary coolant on any car is engine oil. Cooling the engine oil efficiently reduces the load on the secondary coolant - water/anti-freeze. I'm betting that Porsche has a very efficient oil cooling system as part of its dry sump setup.
  2. I wouldn't worry about the steering arm bolt being close to the rim. To make yourself feel better get a bolt with a 1/2 height head. That should give you another 1/16" of clearance. Or go with a socket head cap screw or a 12 point aircraft bolt.
  3. Play nice boys or this thread gets deleted.
  4. You're confusing cooling system capacity with radiator air flow requirements. Just because air flow requirements for a standard sized 240Z radiator can be met with a much smaller grill opening doesn't mean the radiator can be made smaller.
  5. Yes and no. Increasing tire width (thereby increasing track) has some affect on toe and camber. Given that toe is the biggest cause of tire wear, I frequently change toe when I get to the track with my car and then change it back when the day is over.
  6. Had that happen to me a long time ago with a covertible Falcon. They just took a knife and cut a 36" slice in the top to open the door. They stole change, a flashlight, and a jacket. That night as I got home from work a guy walked right past me in the parking garage wearing my jacket. I grabbed the back of his hair and slammed his head into a post. When he fell to the ground I kicked him in the nuts twice and took the jacket. I never said a word and I never saw him again.
  7. I almost bought one but the torque steer and the way the shifter moved around while under power and cornering hard turned me off. The shifter itself felt like a plunger in a bucket of rocks when going through the gears. I heard that upgraded poly engine and trans mounts solve most of my complaints.
  8. Synthetic oil is synthetic oil whether its 90W or 10W. 280F working temp and 300F max temp.
  9. No. Imagine me hitting you in the head with a baseball bat that's wrapped with a bit of foam.
  10. Yes, a roll cage can be made meeting your requirements. Instead of cutting the roof off, holes can be punched in the floor allowing the main and front hoops to be dropped for welding. These holes will be covered by the mounting plates and a small plate welded underneath the car for reinforcement.
  11. The term I've heard used to describe the accident: "A Momentary Lapse of Reason"
  12. 2001 to 2003 Crown Victoria with the tow/handling package. Rated to tow 5,000 lbs, better fuel mileage then any of the trucks listed above, and its got a huge trunk to haul stuff in. Finding a cream puff from an older couple is easy. And its so stealthy that you're good for 15 mph over the speed limit even towin.
  13. Cheap tools end up costing a lot more then expensive tools. You're racing in Mexico right? Exhaust is easy, just dump it out the side behind the front wheels - that'll keep the locals and cows scared away.
