  1. Gosh, if I had a picture of your car like that I might actually frame it and hang it in the garage for motivation! Davy
  2. HAHAHA!!! And some silver platform shoes too!! Davy
  3. Very nice work!! The car looks plenty fast, but is the driver as good as the car?? Davy
  4. Hahaha! You're kidding, no? If not, no biggie--that was one of the inspirations of the Z car, a Jaguar E-Type racecar from the 1960's. There are some other pics on this linky: http://www.griotsgarage.com/podium.jsp They are sexy cars, but I like the Z even a bit more!!!! Am I nutz or what?? Davy
  5. This paint scheme might look good on a Z car, but would need a few modifications in the back IMO. I like the silver, black, and red on sports cars in general. Middle pic is my favorite. Davy
  6. Man, it just gets worse and worse, only now I almost feel sorry for him, except that he says he owns a company and he does not even know how to use a spellcheck on his computer----suppose he actually emails a customer! If I accidentally bought something from him and I got back an email chock full of misspellings, I'd simply weep until I cancelled my order a second later Yep, Aux, please don't let on that we have a genuine tech forum over here Davy PS: Way to own him. That was *ahem* brutal.
  7. Actually his medication ran out.... The kid is seriously delusional Note to the kid: fantasy is not your friend. Davy
  8. David, I have to agree with you (it bugs me too) but give the guy some slack... Alex, you wonder what will make your car handle better? Certainly NOT the 19" wheels. Your car will be higher off the ground and thus will your center of gravity--no good for cornering. Infact, I'd stick with 17" wheels instead of the 18"s if you really are concerned with performance and not just looks. I guess I'm just old (30 something) and I'm not "with it" because I have never understood the appeal of the ghetto look of tall wheels and tires on cars... But hey, whatever floats your boat, man. Davy
  9. Man, I thought about what those rims would look like on an S30...well now I know!! Super cool looking I'd say! Props for being the first guy I kow of to do that--you got a super deal on them as well IMO. I'm curious, what is the weight of the factory 18"x8" rim? Davy
  10. True that they didn't get much protection back there, but I can show you rust built up from moisture under the pads on at least one of my cowl pieces--not fun. Was the foam for sound deading or what? I'm still puzzled at why it is there; I must have missed it completely when I first discovered them. If they are for sound or rattle deadening, a piece of tar based sound proofing would be best. Davy
  11. Glad you are back Ross!!! I look forward to reading your posts full of knowledge and insight--always thoughtful and usable (unlike mine ). Davy
  12. Yeah, and NONE of the guys came with ladies. Watch it and you'll see why Davy
  13. Yeah, I did catch a glimpse of your car towards the back of the issue--but we need a full-on color spread of your car with specs!!!!!!!!!! Did I hear the words future centerfold? It couldn't happen to a nicer car. I can only dream... Davy
  14. Yes, but a tubbed, tube frame chassis car would be the bomb! They are cool and fast when converted. Mike D, Juan, and I saw one smack the wall at 1/3 of the way down the quarter at Infineon this last summer--pity. Davy
  15. Sounds like Jared is in the same boat as I am. I already have some good, ported Edelbrock heads (just under 62cc I believe--they've been shaved ever so slightly) with roller rockers on a 350. I am using the Weiand Stealth intake since I think it will perform best for my setup overall. I would think most of this would come down to cam selection more then anything else at this point. From some of the reading I have been doing, 350 to 450 hp seems in the ballpark, but beyond that...well... it looks like a change in heads is necessary. I'm not knocking the Edelbrocks, mind you, but there are better ones out there. Since I am on a shoestring budget, the options are limited to the best used ones I could find at a good price. So the RPMs are it, period. If I am looking at a 400 hp limit, so be it. I'm sure it will put smiles on my face when I mash the thottle Davy
  16. Ummm, this swap is starting to look expen$ive. All part of the learning curve I guess. Will you continue or scrap this idea? Remember: a turbocharged LT1 can't be all that bad, Alex. Just a thought. Davy
  17. He's still around--saw him this past summer (I think that's when it was). His car is still looking great and he seems to be always making it faster. Last I heard he was trying to buy a house. Hopefully he logs on and answers this post. Davy
  18. Dan, It's hard to comment on the bearing VB sells except that unless they specify Nissan in the picture, you can be sure they are something else. That does not mean they are bad however. I bought bearings from a local bearing shop because they could get me some high quality ones quickly. I you want to discuss bearings and brake systems, I would suggest looking at what Modern Motorsports has to offer. Ross Corrigan is a great guy and has a very thorough knowledge of things mechanical. Here is a link: http://www.modern-motorsports.com/catalog/default.php I hope this helps. Davy
  19. Can a "cinderblock racing" guy join your club?? Davy
  20. Ok, but maybe it takes a week to load or something... Ah, there it is. Yes, those are the guys that don't get married... You are correct in comparing them to the Star Wars geeks, the Lord of the Rings geeks, and Tech geeks. OOOOPS! I swear I didn't just say that Just slipped out... Davy
