  1. I'm sure it was an honest mistake ---moved! Davy
  2. Thanks for posting that information!!!!!!!! Davy
  3. Scott--I completely agree with what you are saying--I tried to convey that idea more concisely. I just don't want any flame wars going on over people's tastes on certain things, like style--this is supposed to be an open idea forum, but there are ways to write replies w/o being offensive. I'm starting to lose my cool over these things because certain members (ex-members?) very recently have been spreading the cancer of flaming and it has to stop--might as well be now. Thanks for your lucidity. Davy
  4. Not this year---not done yet! Shoot...not started yet... Davy

    Thank you

You'll grow much more internally with the distance. Also, it will help you to mature, getting out of your comfort zone.--you will be a better person because of it. I KNOW HOW IT FEELS TO BE LONELY; hang in there since it is not forever. If you can get a job with more interaction do it--some of us are "people persons" and others are not. I like people, so being totally by myself only works for a while before I need something else. Hang in there! Davy
  6. Look, we either get everyone to get along or we lock the thread and start banning people---this crap just has to stop. evildky: there are far more diplomatic ways to put something if YOU don't like it, Opinions are like you-know-what's--if you have something constructive to say, great. If not, don't post it. brianglawson: you need to take a breather and consider whether or not your skin is too thin. Take a little time to see if the moderators or anyone else comes to your defense before pissing on the entire Hybrid forum--you want to piss on American iron within an engine swapping website? Better think again before you rip another post...if you feel you have been slighted, email or PM a moderator like me and let me take action, otherwise hang out at some other website. That said, if you guys can't get along and post constructively on this website, I'll wish you sionara as I see off posting on Zcar.com et al forever. THIS CRAP JUST HAS TO STOP NOW, END OF STORY. I'm done. Davy
  7. "The best muffler for a turbo is no muffler." Turbos like as little exhaust/muffling as possible. As for the 5" tip, well.... Davy
  8. I hate it when crap like that happens--real bummer and a waste of time. Maybe next time, Randy; keep looking. Davy

    I'm back!!!

Glad you are back! Will you be relocating yet once again???? Property taxes will be killer.... Davy
  10. We wish you the very best!!!!!!!!!!!! Keep us informed of the progress. If you have a digital camera, please please please take pictures of each step. Also, please document your swap Davy

    mentos fun

Man, that makes me harken back to my AR15 that I dearly loved...great gun too! I like Mentos too Davy
  12. Whoa. I'm being raped by the Comcast IMO; strongarmed into buying television cable when I did not want to, and they will raise the price (as per their sales info) in the next few months. If Earthlink is the alternative, then I'll have to go that way. The fact that @home.com--->@attbi.com---->@comcast.net = PITA makes me think of what alternatives are out there. My opinion has nothing to do with apparent reality, but just dead reasoning makes me think that cable or DSL should be about $29.95 per month, no more. Grrr. Davy
  13. You should only need 4.5" backspacing if you do not have coil-overs. If this turns out to be too tight (for some odd reason), you can use some very thin spacers (1/4") to set the wheel out just a bit. Just some thoughts. If you are extremely curious, do a search in this forum to find out what backspacing you can use. Davy
  14. Simon, do you mean 240Z, not 240K???? If that is what you mean, it should bolt up, otherwise I'm not much help. What is a 240K? Davy
  15. The rears can be drilled for 5 lug, but the fronts need to be upgraded--as BLKMGK says, a search should reveal the info you are looking for. Post again if it does not...but it should. Davy
  16. You know, there is a difference in the size of the isolators(?) between the 240Z and the 280Z---one is taller then the other. As far as I know, they can be swapped one for the other, unless someone else knows otherwise. You could certainly research that and swap out one end for a shorter unit. Just a hunch. Davy
  17. This is the 240SX rear kit, yes? Thanks for the info! Davy
  18. That is partially correct---they have fuel costs of over $5.00 per gallon. Also (but I'm not sure) they may (I say MAY) be taxed on the size of the motor, like they are in most parts of Europe. That and the fuel costs keeps engine size down in many parts of the world. Makes me think of what would have happened if there were no such restrictions anywhere... Davy
  19. This is a ZX??? Oh, just forget nearly everything I told you. The JTR manual is great for any swap (S130 included) but it is specific to the S30. You can fab your own parts for a V8 swap or buy them from MSA. Davy
  20. Wow, now that you have decided to go that route, is your old cam for sale? Davy
  21. Same thing happened to Auxilary, but I don't think his is so extensive--some new pans and he should be fine. Maybe yours is not as bad as you think. Davy
  22. Doh! I just picked up the Summit catalog and then it hit me: the JTR method uses an electric pump because the mechanical fuel pump is done away with. If a mechanical pump will fit in your 210, then by all means go that way! If you go electric, Summit has COMPLETE fuel systems around $275. Davy
  23. Hmmm. You might want to plumb the tank to a Holley or Carter fuel pump for sure. Use a regulator up front to get the desired pressure, or use the Holley blue which is preset at 7 lbs (I think). A lot of guys use 3/8" fuel line (even the braided stuff, but it is not legal at some dragstrips) to go from the tank all the way to the carb. This will need a 3/8" fitting in the tank if you do this. One of my Z tanks has been plumbed for a 3/8" line and that's the one I will use. You have taken measurements to make sure this will work, right? Davy
  24. I bought a scarab about 1.5 years ago and the steering shaft went through the pipes in the left header. Now, I'm sure that there are other headers that may work, but these could not been switched side to side. I like the joke though. Davy
