  1. Wow, even better! I bet they are Japan-only and pricey too? Davy
  2. John has a point, but to each his own. I used to live in CA and have become very spoiled with the majority of rust free cars available there. This one in the thread sends shivers up my spine, BUT I can't imagine just how Z cars there are in the rust belt states and even in the South. I almost never see any on the roads around here. To fix it will take a ton of time and money, but that car may be the only alternative. Are you good with a welder? It's going to take a lot to fix that car... Davy
  3. They look like what were/are known as "bubble flares" to me. Decent starting price. Davy
  4. Too fast for me... Target! It's a store too... Barking dawg or meowing cat?
  5. Widescreen--it bigger Leather & lace or vinyl & silk?
  6. Sawzall! (it's bigger) Mercury fulmonate or trinitrotoluene?
  7. Coke is red label, so RED it is!!! Mink or chinchilla?
  8. These accomplish exactly what you are looking for: 1) a "stock" (period-correct) looking seat that 2) is "supportive." Yes, these are pretty cool. I think they beat the stock seats too. However, they are a bit pricey. Are they leather? I hope so. Davy
  9. I spent time & money to fix the stupid leaking hole in the roof the PO put in there. In my opinion, it ruins the car, but hey, do what you want with YOUR car. The Datsun's flimsy roof needs all the help it can get---a sun roof or moon roof won't help the car. Get a ZX with T-tops instead. Davy
  10. Depends on who gave 'em Happy birthday and many happy returns! Davy
  11. Mine is behind the bar code. It's not good enough to be anywhere else... Davy
  12. Fantastic find! It would be great as a DD. Davy
  13. My favorite sentences in this thread so far: Some of these quotes are not only brilliant, but they border on sheer poetry and local color. I'll just pull out this list to laugh at whenever I'm feeling low Davy
  14. His photo documentation link is right there and leads to an extensive menu of the car's build-up. Also, if you look up all of Terry's posts, you'll find that information; I believe he's shared that information before here somewhere. He's one heck of an engineer and designer!! Davy
  15. Jeff, if you have not already done so, I strongly suggest buying the Datsun Z V8 Conversion Manual from JTR. Otherwise, you will spend an eternity asking the questions the book may answer en masse. The forum is a great place to find even more technical answers or alternatives to what is tried and true. Using the search function can also yield great results too. Good luck. Davy
  16. From another thread. This looks good!! Davy
  17. Sent to your 'datsun racing' email BTW,I already have one of those Asian women, so I won't need another... Thanks, man!!! Davy
  18. I almost would want to see it go to auction, out to those rich guys in Scottsdale... Davy
  19. Very cool photos! Thanks for sharing those with us. I think you are one lucky guy to get to go on such a trip Davy
  20. That's a 7" or 7.5" rim? Is there any more room for positive offset? I think regular ZG flares would more than help this situation. Good job fitting the Lexus suspension down there--almost looks 'light.' Davy
  21. As I stated, I have seen a strut separate, tube from the base! I like Jon's modification and it makes me feel better about putting some 30+ year old struts through some serious twisties. I'd call it cheap insurance and I'll be looking forward to doing something similar to my own, but letting someone esle weld for me. If I could weld as well as Jon can now, I'd call myself Jesse James...I seriously can't weld Davy
