  1. Very cool...only w/o air conditioning Actually I can't remember if mas280 had A/C in the car or not. However, congrats on your new ride. Good thing you are actually driving it, unlike me in mine... Davy
  2. HAHA! Exactly what I was thinking This is a Toyota/Camaro vs Nissan/Mustang kinda thing. Most people wouldn't understand The car is nice, but it just makes me laugh...Tokyo Drift Bwahahahaa! Davy
  3. These are very impressive stats!!! I loved the videos--the car takes off GRRAAAAAAAAALL! Now that you are getting it dialed in, it's showing what it is capable of. What fun!! Thanks for coming back to your thread and posting the results--they're sweet!! Davy
  4. Looks better now. Driving lights behind the grill keeps them out of sight, yet right there when you need them. Good work! Davy
  5. That's what I'm talkin' about! NICE. I think $250 is a bargain to smooth out the metal on a car, especially one covered in small dents. I did something very similar with a Q45 I once owned. Davy
  6. Why do they get backed out by one turn? I'm trying to think of the physics behind it, but I can't think of any good reason. What is the physics answer, Grumpy? Davy
  7. The police I have spoken with believe the Crown Vic is underpowered. A new Camaro, however, would be sweet! The power-to-weight ratio is better A long time ago (I'm old), the CHP pursuit Mustangs in CA had no back seat, a 5 speed transmission!?! and a lot of power out of the 5.0. They made cool cars to buy after they were retired and you could make a cool street racer from them. One of my acquaintances let me drive his--------it was fun!!! I'm happy to say that I never had to ride in the back of one them... Davy
  8. Wow, finally a roofline that resembles the original. I think it is better than the current Z car, but it could still use a few changes to make it look more like an S30, which is my favorite Z body style Davy
  9. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=113508&page=13 Joe, page 13 has an example of a tank that was modified with a sump, BUT it still is relatively stock. I have not modified a stock tank to the same degree as what you are looking to do. MY guess would be that the tank be sectioned by a reputable place or the rear deck floor modified (I would do for former, not the latter, but it's a matter of choice). There are other threads dealing with the tank, but those are someplace here in the archives. You give me far too much credit and there's too many rumors going around that I can't live up to! Your work so far, is much better than mine...keep it up!! Davy
  10. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=116319 Start with this thread... Davy
  11. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=137336 Hey Polarity, Good to see you back again. BTW, this was topic was generally covered in the chassis forum. Davy
  12. You are doing some very impressive work on your car. If the paint & body come out looking as good as the engine bay, well let's just say that I think everyone will be impressed. Many will have mixed opinions about the Cragars and the rear lights, but who cares? I think the execution is almost more important than the modification itself in most cases. you should have posted in the Member's Project's forum Davy
  13. I would look for a place that will do what you want for $4500. You seem to know what you want: remove bumpers, shave the car, and paint it. Davy
  14. No, it was just a friendly FYI since you are a newbie here. Nothing more, nothing less. Davy
  15. http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/7SS/50-1461 They have the side skirts alone if you want them. Davy
  16. Noice work, mate! Just need a pic of it mounted Davy
  17. Speed, that's one very large garage! What I find even more impressive though, is how nicely finished it is. It probably matches the rest of the house: clean and sweet. I don't have a dream home, but when I'm finally finished with cleaning up my garage (nearly there!) and then painting the floor, I'll be in a good spot. I LOVE my garage and spend hours in there on weekends 'cleaning' up. Davy
  18. The painted parts really bring the look together--it's clean, like the rest of the car. Nice work! Davy
  19. I would either 1) try dry ice and see if I could do anything with the metal using it first since it won't hurt anything 2) fork out the cash and have Dent Pro or another similar outfit come over and work the metal or 3) I would try a tool like the first one that uses glue on the dent and then a pulling device to 'pop' them. Serious body work is the last alternative (for me anyway). Davy
  20. Jody, the Kydex work looks good and the lower scoops/vents look great too. Where did you purchase the kydex? Your posts was the first time I had heard of the product name. Pretty cool. Also, this 10 sec car is you DD?!? Shoot man, that's extreme... Thanks for posting the descriptive photos of your work. Davy
  21. First take a look at them to see if they would fit your needs---they might be what you are looking for. I could not justify the cost vs. benefit, so I ended up going a different route. You are not me, so take a look at them first before dismissing them. Davy
  22. No one. It's the difference between a $250,000 car (2000 GT) and a $2,500 car (240Z). Although, now that I think about it, making an aluminum 1 off is merely fabricating a car, which is constructing an impostor basically. I have no idea what something like that would sell for since it isn't genuine. Only Barrett-Jackson knows for sure Davy
  23. It doesn't matter if it is a repost. The pic of the car showed up in a wheels thread, but the article didn't. Thanks for posting that!! Davy
  24. I have been thinking about those wheels and where I have seen them before. They were popular in the late 70's? and possibly early '80's as I recall. They were aftermarket wheels used in light trucks as well as cars and many were fairly wide--as yours are. For the life of me I cannot remember which company it was that manufactured them. My guess would be American Racing or possible Prime, but neither of those companies ring a bell for me for that wheel, sorry. Again, just by watching ebay for old wheels, you may see an ad for the same design that could point you in the right direction. Davy
