JT has made some excellent points. Please take this advice very seriously: unless you are using a known kit, there is no possible way to determine if the steering shaft will clear, running through the headers like it does in the Scarab kit. The problem with making your own 'custom' kit is that you may cause clearance issues in other areas, like the headers for example. You may have to borrow some different headers and just trial fit everything. I had a Scarab mounted V8Z once and the clearance is tight with the full length headers. I have a JTR setup now and think it's superior, despite the lack of full length headers---the set-back position of the motor just makes logical engineering sense to my brain. If you have the Hooker/Scarab mounting position, you can run full length headers such as these: http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=HOK-2147-1HKR&N=700+115&autoview=sku Block Huggers do not fit the Scarab position per JTR. I think they would hit the crossmember. Davy

However, let me caution you that using romance as a tool to get what you want is very shaky ground and can land you in heaps of trouble. It's a subtle form of manipulation (and never mind that women use sex to get men to do what they want us to. For some reason, they always get a pass with that one) I think laying out the facts on a list and showing what you will do to offset the space issue and perhaps the money issue is the best policy. I'm all for safety and I would hate to have someone rear end my parked Z because they "couldn't see it." That would suck. What about adding some stealthy reflectors in the back of the car to make up for the lack of them in the tail lights? It seems that would pacify the man in most cases. Just some thoughts... Davy

I have an MSD 6AL on the 240Z engine and it worked fine, so I'm OK with their products for the most part. I'm going to use the 6AL on the V8 as well. That said, I took the stock HEI from the V8 and upgraded the heck out of it. Shortly thereafter, a friend gave me a free new Mallory Highfire billet disty, which I'll probably end up using because I know the sucker is new inside and out. Davy

The flares are just something very similar to (or are exactly) ZG flares bonded to the body and smoothed, no big deal--they are about 2.5 to 3 inches wide. The airdam you want is the MSA type 2 as stated above. That will give you the look you want. Davy

Dude, buying a can of tint is the easiest/fastest and cleanest way to do it, unless I am missing something. A color tint might be best doing it that way, but otherwise, sell me a can of tint Davy

My father owns one and beats on it constantly. I swear the toughest part of the truck is the drive train. I will EASILY tow something as "light" as the two cars you mentioned. Very stout trucks...with cheap plastic interior parts & sagging headliners, grrrr. Davy

That's the first digital clock I have seen that actually looks good. I can't believe it! I'm so used to what my dad used to do: stick (tape?!) an extremely cheap $1 digital 'clock' to the face of the non-working timepiece. Very hokey and turned me off to digital subconsciously.
